Second time we have eaten there.
We are from wisconsin and this is becoming our favorite Italian spot. Food and staff are awesome."

I brought my girlfriend here for
Valentine's Day. The waitstaff was very friendly, the manager checked in on our experience, and the food was delicious. The portions were also very generous, and the prices were all reasonable. My girlfriend was very happy and wanted to know how soon we could come back. My only complaint was that the table next to us was a little too close for comfort. Overall, it was a great date experience. I'll be recommending the place to many friends."

This place is amazing. Finding
Italian food in Los Angeles that is actually tasty is quite difficult - this is one of the only places I'll actually. Pricing is more than reasonable, big portions for food you will wind up dreaming about. Can't wait to go back!"

Great little neighborhood
restaurant. Many local Venice folks frequent. Food is really good, except I ordered , the eggplant parmesan which is excellent. My only complaint is the portion was so small, I could have eaten 3, and this was entrée size. Also there was no side of anything. Love this place, just will not order that dish again, unless the portion changes."

The ambience was just right. Low
lighting but not too dark. The meals did not leave us wanting. The portions are just perfect. We had the special brushetta of the day.. It was delicious. The Italian meats antipasto was a real hit with all of us. Every bit of the chicken marsala was good. The chicken was so tender, you could eat it without a knife and the sauce was really yummy with a generous portion of mashed potatoes. The homemade pastas we had were light and very tasty. The steak filled ravioli was something we hadn't had before and was enjoyable. The cavatelli with sausage ragu had a good ratio of pasta to sauce and had a real homemade quality to it. The only criticism, the wine poured fell short of a typical serving."

Atmospheric room, excellent
service, outstanding food without being pretentious. Highly recommended!"
Dined on 12/12/2013
We enjoyed our lunch at Centanni.
It was quiet - only two other tables were filled on a Sunday afternoon. The waiter was enjoyable, and the food was fabulous! We were coming from LAX, and it was an easy drive from there."
Dined on 12/8/2013
Consistently great specials
combined with the warm atmosphere created by the owners and staff make this an easy choice when dining with friends or out of town guests."
Dined on 12/7/2013
The seafood risotto was the best
I'd ever eaten! This is great food for very reasonable prices."
Dined on 12/5/2013
We had a table of five and all of
us were thrilled with our appetizers and entrees and the menu is very well priced. Staff well informed."
Dined on 11/23/2013
This was our third visit to
Centanni. It's located close to the place we stay when traveling to this part of the LA Area. The food is well prepared, the service is excellent but the wine list could use development. The vibe is friendly though it gets noisy when there's a full house."
Dined on 11/15/2013
We were a group of seven meeting
for lunch, and had the place almost to ourselves. Assume it is much busier during the week and also for dinner, as the food was quite good. We all hada variety of pasta and salad dishes and enjoyed them very much. The service was also very good, attentive without being intrusive."
Dined on 11/9/2013
THIS NEIGHBORHOOD GEM SERVED
GENEROUS REASONABLY PRICED PORTIONS, HAS A FRIENDLY ATTENTIVE STAFF AND A COZY ATMOSPHERE. THE MIX OF HI-TOP TABLES GIVES YOU THE PRIVACY OF DINING. $10 CORKAGE IS NICE!"
Dined on 11/13/2013
I frequent this restaurant. It is
in my neighborhood and I am never disappointed either by the food or the service. I highly recommend Centanni."
Dined on 11/1/2013
The noise (bare floors, no linens
on the tables, big parties) was the first thing to greet us when we walked in . Even though we had a reservation, the only table available was in a dark corner near the door. Dismal and facing two walls. Our waiter was very polite and pleasant and accommodating. But the food was a huge disappointment, especially because the chef is supposed to be one of the top chefs in America! Tomatoes and mozzarella were tasteless, but beautifully presented. The chicken parmegian was like shoe leather and the eggplant parmegian, although nicely prepared, had a sauce that looked and tasted like Campbell's soup! Very disappointing. Sorry to say, we won't be back."
Dined on 11/2/2013
Love the shrimp appetizer. Risotto
very good. Fun restaurant run by charming couple."
Dined on 10/18/2013
We had a truly professional waiter
whom it is getting harder and harder to find. Food was very good as usual. Always enjoyable. I highly recommend it."
Dined on 10/6/2013
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner
at Centanni recently. The atmosphere is pleasant, though a bit noisy and crowded (we knew we were having fun), and the food was unexpectedly wonderful. The kitchen is paying attention, not only to the main course, but also to the sides. No generic vegetables out of a pot. The only quibble we had was that the bread was not up to the rest of the meal. It tasted like panini left over from lunch--a bit stale and not appetizing."
Dined on 10/5/2013
I've recommended this restaurant
to friends several times and they've all become addicted."
Dined on 1/1/2013
Centanni consistently delivers a
good experience with great food and exceptional specials with the warm feeling of a neighborhood restaurant."
Dined on 9/22/2013
We eat here often and my favorite
dish is the NY Strip ravioli special. When its not on special, the chicken parm is a great backup. Grant has coincidentally been our waiter all 5 or 6 times we have been there. Super friendly, helpful and professional. A true neighborhood gem. If you are visiting, don't just stick to Abbott-Kinney. This is worth the 1 mile to Lincoln."
Dined on 8/3/2013
The go to place where everyone
remembers your name, the food is reliably good, with service to match-that is Centanni. Though the food and ambience are not stellar, the sum exceeds the parts. The $6 sauteed shrimp appetizer qualifies for the short list of excellent dishes in LA below $10. Ditto the penne arrabiata and all other menu favorites. The service is personal, solicitous, but never intrusive or overbearing. The only caveats are that the specials are much higher-priced than the menu items and sometimes not even as good. An exception was the $25 gamberoni with two huge "shrimp", more like small lobsters, perfectly grilled, sauced with the bitter-sour-sweet flavors of real capers, tomatoes, and olives. Bring your own wine, leave happy!"
Dined on 8/3/2013
Excellent food. Portions were good
and menu had large selection."
Dined on 7/4/2013
This place is outstanding. One of
my new favorite Italian places in LA. They make some of their own pasta and have lots of specials every time I go in. The prices are very reasonable as well, especially based on the quality of the ingredients they use. I highly recommend this place. Make sure to get a reservation though as it is a very small restaurant and fills up on the weekends. Parking can be a problem sometimes as well."
Dined on 6/23/2013
This was our second visit to
Centanni. We met a friend there and enjoyed the food (particularly the Risotto di Mare) and wine but the place was incredibly noisy and that spoiled it. Shouting is not our idea of a conversation. If you like that kind of scene, it's great. If not, go elsewhere. That's what we'll do next time we're in the Venice/Santa Monica area."
Dined on 6/15/2013
Found this place on Yelp, wanted
to try someplace new and this place was perfect. Our server Grant was phenomenal!"
Dined on 6/13/2013
I really want Centanni to become a
neighborhood gem, but it's consistent inconsistencies keep me from going weekly. For example they have a great shrimp appetizer - if you're there on the right night. Their minestrone soup has been excellent to watery with precut frozen veggies. The grilled artichoke looked like a tornado hit it. They seem to understaff so we waited for water, for a breadbasket for someone to take our order. Come on Centanni, pull it together. You'll have the neighborhood waiting out the door."
Dined on 6/3/2013
This has become our favorite
restaurant in Venice. The staff, the food, the ambience are all great and our 13 year old loves the lasagna and salmon farfalle while my husband loves the eggplant parmigiana and I just had the shrimp risotto. Do not miss the chocolate lava desert with ice cream! And the prices are really reasonable which is the best part! Thanks Helen and gang for a great birthday meal for my husband!"
Dined on 5/30/2013
Service took forever - one server.
Panini was toasted to a crisp - painful to bite into. Street parking is nonexistent. I won't be back"
Dined on 5/22/2013
I've been here several times and
always love the food and atmosphere. For a Saturday night, the service was awful and the hostess tried to help. Usually I'm here on weekdays and its much better."
Dined on 5/4/2013
Great meal! Our server, Grant, was
excellent and his suggestions were the best. This is our third time at the restaurant and we will continue to return and recommend to friends."
Dined on 4/26/2013
The lasagna was great, as was the
bow tie pasta with salmon that my lady had. Shared the artichoke hearts and also the shrimp for an appetizer. Portions were good size, probably could have gone without one of the appetizers. Very reasonably priced. Was our first time there, but may have already taken over as our favorite italian spot on the westside. We will be back."
Dined on 4/26/2013
Centanni is a gem of a restaurant.
Quaint atmosphere, great service, great food, great wine and drinks. Their wine spritzer and strawberry mojito are really good. Every time I go there, I am always happy with the food and service! The owners are great and always make you feel welcome at their restaurant. This last time, I had the prosciutto and burrata appetizer (yum!) and the vegetable panini (one of the best I have ever had!). GREAT PLACE!!!!!"
Dined on 4/19/2013
Now this is becoming a favorite
place. Service is outstanding and food is true Italian. Love it! Recommended to a coworker who was there the same night. She was surprised such a great gem exists in a busy area but you'd never know sitting inside."
Dined on 4/16/2013
EXCELLENT SERVICE AND PASTA
SALADES DISHES ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. THE FISH DISH WAS JUST OK. GREAT SERVICE WITH VERY REASONABLE PRICES."
Dined on 4/9/2013
Fabulous, fresh Italian dishes,
with a friendly, helpful staff. This will be a favorite."
Dined on 3/19/2013
Excellent food at reasonable
prices. Serving staff very friendly and responsive. The kitchen was a bit slow, but mgr compensated for the delay with complementary wine. Will be back very soon."
Dined on 3/16/2013
I went here for a carbo-load
dinner the evening before the LA Marathon. It was the perfect meal!!"
Dined on 3/16/2013
Always such a pleasure to dine
here...wonderful service and delicious food...highly recommended for locals who want to avoid the trendy hipster restaurants :)"
Dined on 3/13/2013
Had a wonderful dinner at this
neighborhood restaurant. The feeling is very relaxed and comfortable. The food is delicious and homemade. Great wine list with a wide range of price points. Would definitely return."
