  • "When you go sit outside, it is wonderful. Service is outstanding and the calamari, wow, some of the best I ever had. I ordered the duck breast which was way over cooked, even asking them to cook it medium (ask for it rare). The brussels-kale that came with had sand or dirt in it so every chew was gritty. Aside from that everything else was great."

  • "Food is consistently very good! The crab cake is one of the very best ever! The Kobe hangar steak was delicious and tender. Others in our party enjoyed the pork chop, heirloom tomato salad, butter lettuce salad and salmon. In an area with many great restaurants from which to choose, you will never go wrong at Celadon!"

  • "The waiter was friendly and knowledgable. The room was great. The starters were excellent and the wine was super. For the main course, I ordered a Kobe sirloin, medium rare. Which arrived, cooked all the way through. Grey as grey can be. I commented this to the waiter, which immediately saw the mistake and took it back. Fairly quickly, I got a new plate. This was medium cooked at best. Pinkish in the very centre, but far from medium rare. Too hungry to send it back a second time, I ate it. Apart from it being overcooked, it was great. But if you serve Kobe beef, you should know how to cook it. All in all, super place, but needs to know what medium rare means."

  • "I found Celadon online, looking for a special place to take a friend for a bithday lunch. It was perfect! The ambience was elegant enough without being pretentious or stuffy, and the food was delicious. When one of our party had a problem with the food she was served, the problem was resolved with no fuss or argument. Our waiter, Sean, was a huge plus on the day's experience, joining in our fun and adding to it. I plan on going back and trying some of the other menu items. The only sad note was discovering it is not open for brunch/lunch on the weekends."

  • "I had expected more from the reviews but it was fine. The staff was very good. The food which is more important to me was okay. Given that I ast there 2 days ago and am having trouble remembering what it was we ordered I'd say it was not memoriable. I liked that they had a gluten free dessert but it wasn't very good. Oh, I had a crab cake and it was just okay, the goat cheese and macadamia nuts and that was good, the coconut shrimp were just okay. My dinining companion had the duck and it was well prepared and she was happy with it."

  • "We looked forward with great anticipation for a week to our dinner at Celadon as we have heard and read many great things. We asked to be seated in the outdoor patio area when we made our reservation and were pleased at arrival to find a patio table for us. Our waitress was wonderful with great energy and personality while the ambiance was pleasing. Then our dinner arrived and the food wasn't bad..it just wasn't anything. I wish it would have been overly or under seasoned so I could at least base my opinion on a direction, but it was just nothing. I had the salmon my wife had the pork porterhouse and if we closed our eyes and someone switched our plates I don't think either of us would have known. Im hoping it was just an off night."

  • "We had a fabulous evening at Celedon on the busy 4th weekend.! It was a perfect evening for patio dining. The wine specialist, Manny, selected a wonderful wine that was excellent and reasonably priced! The fresh heirloom tomato salad with mozzarella was absolutely delicious.....large enough to share! Flat iron steak was featured - it was perfectly prepared and fork tender. My husband loved the lamb shank......always his favorite. The lemon meringue pie was tart and sweet, and a delicious finish. Our server was friendly, engaging and extremely helpful. The entire staff is a harmonious group to make the diner feel special!"

  • "This was my our first time to this restaurant. We had just landed in Oakland on our way up to Napa and decided to stop here to eat. They had a lovely outside patio with a fire place but looked like mostly 4 tops or greater. We were seated at a 2 top inside, bistro style, along a long wall with other couples. We brought a bottle of our own and the wine service was great and corkage a reasonable $15. The food was outstanding, I had a lamb top sirloin served with a mushroom reduction and topped with 2 buttermilk onion rings that was wonderful. My wife had the baked chicken with gluten free gnocchi. The gnocchi was in what i believe to be a brown butter sauce finished with a little truffle oil and was out of this world."

  • "Exceptionally disappointed with my entire experience here. The atmosphere is lovely. The service was lacking, when you spend 10 minutes to flag a busboy/waiter for a refill on water, it is quite frustrating. Our first course was fair. My Sweet coconut fried prawns came out on a bed of greens, soaked in grease with a syrupy sauce that weighed down the dish. Absolutely dreadful. My husbands salad was a mess of shredded endive with unripe pear, another disaster. Our friend had the butter lettuce salad, which was fine, for your average diner. Entree's were equally under par. The moroccan inspired braised lamb shank was over cooked & dry. The akaushi flat iron, overcooked & no presentation and expensive. Fish, again, overcooked. Will not return."

  • "I realize that restaurants have seating constraints, but having a long standing reservation should count for something. When we arrived at Celadon we were told that there was no outside seating available which was Our preference and instead were given a cramped table inside. There were tables for 4 outside which could have been made available to is. The food was mediocre at best but even if it had been great I wouldn't return due To the lack of customer service that they demonstrated up front."

  • "We went here to belatedly celebrate our anniversary. The soup was an onion with a coconut milk base - great for lactose intolerant like me. The calamari is very good with a drizzle of a tangy sweent sauce. My halibut was excellant with the small chopped potatoes. My wife's beef satay - had it for entree was excellent. Sorbet for desert was refreshing and delicious."

The patio seating is such a feel good place to sit . My Brother visits is from San Jose . He always wants to eat at Celadon . My Husband and I golfed with a couple from Texas that was vacationing here in Napa. They described what kind of food and atmosphere they wanted in a restaurant . We both recommended Celadon .   • "We thought our Murphys restaurant, Alchemy, had the best Calamari appetizer we had ever tasted until we dined at Celadon. Their Calamari is lightly breaded and perfectly deep fried for that crunchy feel. But what makes it special was the pickled ginger. The two together are a perfect match that is the best we ever tasted. And then of course was the rest of the meal. I had the Sweet Coconut Prawns which was sweet and not much coconut, but very good none the less. My wife had a porter house steak special with horse radish which she just loves. And a bottle of 1869 Zinfindel (134 year old vines) made for an excellent meal."
