Ceia Kitchen and BarA lovely mealWe went for Mother's Day Brunch, and everyone at the table had a lovely time. The food was inventive and excellently prepared (especially the steak and lobster benedict, a big hit at our table), and our waitress was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxed and casual, but still nice enough to be appropriate for a celebration lunch or a special night out. We lived in the SOuth End for many years and that is the mecca of fine food in Boston and Ceia could stand up to any there and probably win! The 3 story restaurant is one of the best I've been to. The entire staff was so helpful and friendly. And the food was to die for, the whole drive back to Newton we were whining about how we wish the meal had never ended. We started with drinks and some appetizers, the St. Avion was amazing, and the duck liver mousse, olives and charcuterie was enough to make us come back and we hadn't even ordered our mains yet. We ordered the Hake and the Scallops and they were cooked perfectly, and looked amazing. It was the freshest of ingredients, and delicious. The fritters were light and again singing with spring flavors. Runner beans were ok, a bit too hard. I would definitely go back to this restaurant and recommend to friends. Good for nights out with friends, birthday dinners, gets a little tight so not so sure about larger parties. DEFINITELY make a reservation, they had an hour wait without one. Nice brick walls, warm tones and soft lighting with great jazz playing in the background. The restaurant is spread between three floors making each dining room cozy and intimate.
