Diner Reviews
  • "Arrived for our reservation and were sat right away in a booth, as requested. Ordered the prime rib and it was the best I've had, even compared to steak houses. Dining area was very spacious, glad they didn't jam too many tables in the room. Definitely would go again for special occasions."

  • "I just love the look and ambience of the Cedar Creek Inn. The food is always done well and the service is consistently good."

  • "Loved the decor and food tasted incredible. Wish there was more of a selection but that is in no way a slight against what they do have. Will definitely be going back."

  • "The overall quality of this restaurant has much improved from few years back. Food & service levels are better. Still one of the rare formal restaurant left in the area."

  • "Cedar Creek is tucked into an unlikely location. Most restaurants in the Brea area are on the streets surrounding the mall. It wasn't until I Googled "Brea Restaurants" that this came up on my radar. The excellent reviews are what sold me on selecting it for a birthday celebration. I had an Ahi salad, which was just ok, I probably should have ordered the salmon dinner. The Birthday Boy had an end cut prime rib and was in heaven. We don't usually order dessert, but the reviewers all said that it was a must at this restaurant. So, we had the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. It was delicious, but there was no way we could finish the whole thing. The service was excellent. We will definitely go back to Cedar Creek!"

  • "This restaurant has large dinning room with contemporary decorate. The waitress is helpful and friendly. She recommended the today special which is Lobster and my wife ordered it, it was really tasty. I had Filet mignon. It was tender and juicy,"

  • "This is one of the nicest restaurants in "Eastern" Brea (versus "Downtown Brea"). There is a wide range of choices at lunch. I splurged and had the Prime Rib which was very good quality. I had not been here in almost 5 years but the quality remained at the same high standard as before. My friend had a Cobb salad which is her favorite."

  • "Arrived on time for our 6:00 PM reservation and were promptly seated, even though 3 of our party had not arrived. Service was very attentive. Had drinks before dinner and we were not rushed into ordering our meal to free up the table on a busy Friday night. When we did order our meal, the food was prompt and excellent. Everything was cooked to perfection and all diners were pleased with their selections. Dinner included a nice, fresh and good size portion salad. Nice wine selection. We have been visiting Cedar Creek a couple times a year for about 5 years now -- we live a distance away and would visit more often if it were closer!"

  • "We love Cedar Creek. They have a great menu and we especially love the cedar planked salmon, swordfish and Italian chopped salad. Great dessert menu, especially the coconut cake! We eat there at least once a month, and even on some nights we will order the Italian chopped salad (one is more than enough for two to share) for take out and eat it at home. We rarely have to wait more than a few minutes and with reservations we never wait. We highly recommend Cedar Creek Inn in Brea!"

  • "We were looking for a local steakhouse, and this one certainly fit the bill. The menu is wider than expected, but makes it suitable for groups since not everyone will want red meat. We ordered the Cedar-cut prime rib, which is large enough for sharing. Perfectly done as the medium rare that was ordered. Rack of lamb was delicious, and didn't have the typical strong after-taste. Didn't have much room for anything else, but the dessert menu looked scrumptious. We'll certainly be back."

  • "Went this past weekend. Before the meal they give you bread w/ cheese on it. I ordered Porcini Crusted Filet Mignon and a three cheese potato gratin. You can have soup or salad. I choose the french onion. My friend ordered the prime rib, you can choose between a 13 or 18oz cut. My friend choose the larger one,it came with garlic mashed potatoes and creamed horseradish. And also the house salad. The salad was mixed field greens tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette with apples, candied walnuts, and bleu cheese. That and the soup were probably the best part of the meal. We were now overwhelmed by any of other food. It was pretty average. The service was decent and the ambiance was nice and thats about it. For the price I was expecting a bit more."

  • "The filet mignon was horrible, the waiter only asked if everything was okay but never asked if we want more wine or water."

  • "If you like salmon this is the place to go. It is the best salmon I have had bar none. We ate on the patio area which was very nice and quieter than inside. Our server was amazing. We took friends from out of town and they are used to fine dining. This place was a hit. I highly recommend Cedar Creek in Brea."

  • "We used to come here all the time when we lived in Fullerton, but we moved away several years ago. When I found that we would be back in the area today, I made an early dinner reservation . So glad we did. We were able to sit outside on the patio and enjoy our favorite House Margarita and Zuni Rolls, and relax. We had the greatest server named Josh who kept the drinks coming, and did not "rush" our dinner. Josh timed things perfectly! We then enjoyed the best House Salad that had blue cheese, pears, and candied nuts and Cedar Creeks great garlic bread. Entree was the best prime rib . Could not eat it all so Josh made sure we were sent home with not only our leftovers, but extra A'Jus for the French dip sandwiches the next night."

  • "Food and service just not that good. Based upon Trip Advisor thought it would be better. Biggest positive was the price of their wines is VERY reasonable. Was amazed at their price point on the wine."

  • "Cedar Creek is not a big box restaurant chain so no $12.99 steak here. Having said that, it is well worth their competitive prices with other top end restaurants. The service was one of the best we have ever had with server Candice. The portions were generous and very tasty. Cedar Creek is a must try."

  • "Service was excellent: our server was Tom; friendly, funny, and helpful. Food was very good: we enjoyed the filet mignon, pot roast, pork chop, and prosciutto/arugula pizza appetizer. The cheese bread is so good; I could probably eat the entire basketful by myself. The only thing missing is the original version of the House Salad...I was looking forward to it and was disappointed to see that it was changed since the last time we dined there."

  • "The food is fine, just like the wine that they offer. The lighting in the dinning room is comfort to the flavors coming out of the kitchen. From surf and turf, to your pasta dishes. Every dish is a delite. With grate service from your waitress to your waiter."

  • "Best Pomagranite Martini's on the PLANET! This is a great restaurant for a group looking to have a fun evening. Very vibrant and energetic. Had all the right elements for a fun night."

  • "Ordered from the OC Restaurant Week specials. Great selection and food was great! The New York Steak dinner was very generous serving and the Coconut Cake was delious"

  • "Place is nice, good ambiance and pretty quiet. Food was just OK, the NY steak was overcooked for medium rare, but seems like that's the standard and it was a bit disappointing. The prawns were overcooked too. The bread are good though and so was the lobster bisque. The coconut cake was very delicious."

  • "Went for our daughter's 21st birthday. It was a great special occasion spot. Arrived in time to order drinks and an appetizer from the Happy Hour thàt ended @ 6pm.Daughter tried a $5 Lemon drop Martini and loved it. Seated for dinner at time we'd reserved. Served by two waiters who did a good job until dessert phase. After a very long wait they brought a birthday sundae for our daughter but left without asking if the rest of us wanted to order dessert. My husband finally got up and chased down a waiter saying we wanted to order desserts. We recommend John Dory fish special, the prime rib and the Land and Sea (beef medallions with butterflied shrimp). We also enjoyed the basket of garlic toast served us and refilled. Salads were good too"

  • "We celebrated a birthday here and the entire staff made a point of wishing my daughter a happy birthday. Service was excellent. Hated our booth which had me facing the kitchen all night. This place is big on ambiance but that view was not good. Food was very tasty. I had the special which was a John Dory and it was very yummy. I love it when fish is served hot as opposed to just warm. My husband had the meatloaf and it was good. Others had the prime rib which was a generous portion and they also loved the mashed potatoes. The garlic cheese bread was loved by all. I thought the wine list was good but maybe a little over-priced. Waitress was so sweet and brought over a birthday treat with a candle to blow out."

  • "We tried this restaurant due to Restaurant Week and will definitely return. The food was delicious, the service was good and the atmosphere was perfect. The restaurant also offers musical entertainment in the bar that was fun and enjoyable"

  • "Beautiful restaurant with a very good menu. My wife and I had the special - John Dory with lobster and risotto. Wonderfully prepared. Clam chowder was delicious as well with lots of clams and a hint of bacon. Cedar Creek has an excellent bread pudding with a delightfully subtle whiskey sauce. Service is not superb, but not bad either. I just expect a little more from a restaurant that is this pricey. The young man that was supposed to be greeting us completely ignored us as we left. I chalk it up to youthful ignorance and self-involvment."

  • "We arrived to enjoy the OC Restaurant Week special of Surf and Turf- Filet Mignon and Lobster. After we placed our order, the server came back and informed us they weren't serving that at the Brea location. The manager came over and apologized, but only offered a beef medallions and shrimp substitute. Instead, I ordered the salmon which was delicious. My daughter ordered the chicken which was fair. The green beans had no flavor and neither did the mashed potatoes. After we were told the steak and lobster wasn't available I felt we were rushed through our meal, and ignored by our waiter. We were seated at 6:15 and out by 7:05!"

  • "I had dined at Cedar Creek Brea many times for buisness and personal lunches. Always had grest service and high quality food. My husband and I decided to try it for dinner during OC Restaurant week. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was extremely high quality and the service was stellar. It was a great value too."

  • "Although I've been to Cedar Creek in San Juan Capistrano, this was my first visit to the Brea location. Their Orange County Restaurant Week menu looked very nice, so my husband and I booked a table for lunch. We ordered different things off the 3-course special menu, and found to our delight that everything was prepared perfectly, with great flavors, and very generous portions. My husband's lobster bisque soup was succulent, and his main-course beef dip sandwich, a treat. I started with the wedge salad, followed by a beautiful glazed salmon entree, that was served with mustard seed mashed potatoes and a veg. His Toll House Pie, and my coconut cake were positively delicious! We shared bites of everything, and will certainly be back!"

  • "I got the Lobster Cappuccino to start off my food coma tonight. It was as good as I remembered. Then I had the ginger maple glazed salmon w/ green beans and mashed potatoes. Last, I had the coconut cake w/ vanilla ice cream for dessert. Food was fantastic. The server however left something too be desired. We felt like she was trying to rush us out, and she gave the air of impatience as my friend and I sat in the booth catching up."

  • "The ambiance is great, feels like it should be a more expensive restaurant, but its not. you get great ambiance while paying TGIF prices for food. And the food is definitely better than TGIF! Service is great. I had to "tweak" my pasta to the way I wanted it and the waiter and the kitchen did everything to suit my request. Did I mention the price is reasonable? definitely will come back."

  • "We are definitely call-back customers! This restaurant is outstanding in its menu and presentation. Three of our party opted for the seafood salad for lunch, very fresh and delicious in every way. Dressing is always "on the side", no need to beg! The other diner enjoyed fish and chips, the tastiest looking light battered dish ever. Our server was just excellent. She came to the table several times to check on our experience, but was not too hovering. We look forward to our next visit."

  • "I had origninally booked reservations, but had to reschedule them. The employee on the phone said that was just fine. We arrived and they had no idea who I was nor did they have a reservation for us. I recognized the employee who had said he was going to change my reservation by his voice from the phone. His face turned bright red and he said "oops! I forgot to change it in the computer." Not only was he very unprofessional, but he only gave excuses for his "mistake" rather than apologizing. We were seated and the food was actually really good. However, the server refilled our wine glasses by pouring our remaining wine into the new full glass of wine! How rude."
