Ceci Italian Restaurant
Great placeHad a 6 person crowd for a pre-theatre dinner. Service was super, prix fixe menu varied, reasonably priced, good wine list. Recommended6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Italian food on 46th St.Our party of 6 was seated promptly at our reservation time (5:30). We got a bottle of red wine (a great Montepulciano) and ordered our food. We were in no rush because we just came from a matinee and everything was paced just right. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Several of us had the blush sauce with various pastas and it was delicious! The cheese ravioli and blush sauce was great. The portions were just right, not too little or not too much. Service was very good.
Great place to eat to eat when in mid-town. It's slightly off the more crowded areas in the theater district. It's on 46th between 6th Ave and 5th Ave next to a small, pretty park. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFANTASTIC!always enjoyable when i come to Ceci, and i keep coming back with different people so they can enjoy the food too.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMCeci is a great little restaurantCeci is a great little restaurant that is perfect for groups. We were a party of 10 that was easily accomodated. The staff was helpful, got the orders correct and were not intrusive. Most of us had pasta and all of us were very happy with what we ordered. Others ordered fish and they were also pleased. The food on the plates looked as appetizing as they turned out to be. One bif plus is that there is a very nice prix fixe dinner for 29.95. The choices are a good selection of pasta, fish, chicken, and beef. The desserts also were a nice selection from the regular dessert menu. Several of us ordered from that prix fixe menu. I would defiinitely recommend this restaurant for almost any occasion especially for pre or post theater dining.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA Nice SurpriseWe were looking for a nice Italian restaurant in the theater district to enjoy a nice meal after our matinee. I didn't know a lot about this restaurant but it was available and we decided to try it. I'm so glad we did! The service was attentive but not overbearing at all. We were in no rush as we had been to the theater in the afternoon so we told our waiter we wanted to relax and he let us do so, all while attending to our needs. The food was delicious - ample portions and reasonably priced for NYC. It's a place I would definitely go back to and definitely recommend.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFelt valued as a patronThe manager came over twice to see if all was ok. He wasn't intrusive, just very friendly. Service was efficient and the food was very good.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service for a large groupCeci was perfect for our group of 16 theater-goers from Philadelphia. The service was excellent! Our water glasses were never empty, each course came out promptly and all at the same time. The staff was friendly and obviously working very hard.
The Pre-fixe menu was perfect -- 11 of us chose to order from it --but we appreciated not being required to order from it, as a large group.
Everyone agreed that their food was delicious! Several women had the Salmone from the Pre-Fixe menu and it was cooked to perfection! The portions were just the right size, leaving enough room for the dessert. The dessert was delicious! The cheesecake was perfect, nice and creamy, not too thick and heavy.
I will definitely visit Ceci again!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGem in the Theater DistrictIt was great find good food, great service and reasonable prices right in the Theater District. We will be going back for a repeat performance!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMCeci's is our favorite ItalianCeci's is our favorite Italian trattoria! Great food, great service. You always are made welcome! Cannot wait to come back!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMRecommend CeciThis was my second dinner at Ceci. I liked it so much the first time that I decided to go again. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBack to old friends.I've mentioned this before, Ceci is made up of a group of wonderful, hard working, food-loving/people-loving people from Ciro's-a place we used to frequent on Ninth Avenue. almost a year after Ciro's closed, we found Ceci by accident on a walk from the east side to the Theater District. We walked in, saw familiar, friendly faces, sat down and had a great meal prepared by familiar chefs and served by familiar staff.
We are so happy to come back as often as we do because of the atmosphere and food (and drink). Maybe my rating is inflated by half a star, but to a staff, all of whom are invested in the success of this retreat, loving what they are doing and proving it every time we come in by the quality and flavor of the food makes us happy.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMTwo times is a charmThe first time I went to Ceci's, it was through scoutmob to celebrate a friend's engagement. The food was exceptional and the portions were "normal". Meaning, it was just the right amount of food to satisfy you until your next meal. The owner gave me a 25% off coupon for our next meal and thanked me for coming. I brought back a few more friends for lunch. I found it a little strange that there was no lunch menu, but the quality of food was still expectional. It a little too long to recieve our food, considering it was lunch time (about 50 minutes). My friends and I are still talking about the taste and price for their personal pizzas. I would bring many people back here.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA great mealDefinitely a place to return to. I was there for lunch with 2 friends and all was perfect for the 3 of us.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and Delightful!Perfect for a pre-theater dinner. Service was outstanding and food was delicious!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat guess!Close to our hotel but just outside of times square. Excellent service. Water glasses were never empty. Food was excellent. Steaming hot when came to table. Manager watching and checking in to be sure all was well. Good variety of wine choices...affordable. Too full for desserts but they looked delicious. We will return!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great FindThis was our second time at Ceci's. It is a nondescript, traditional Italian restaurant near 5th Avenue and 2 blocks from Time Square. The service is attentive and perfect for pre-theatre dining. Service is attentive but not over-bearing. The restaurant was full which tells me that word is getting out among theatre go-ers. You will not be disappointed.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAll good - not greatwe tried this as an alternative to our favorite restaurant Becco since Becco is so often too crowded to enjoy. The food was good - risotto with shrimp could have been cooked better and my daughters enjoyed the home made ravioli. the atmosphere was relatively quiet and service good. Not a bad find - just not great for a trip you want to make a memorable one.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service.Excellent food and service. Near theathers on Broadway very convenient5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAway from the noise of Times SquareCeci was a welcome change from the restaurants around Times Square. Only a few blocks away, we were able to have an enjoyable meal and talk with one another without it being too loud. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the service and food were both very good. I would recommend this restaurant to friends.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMTheatre district find!We went to Ceci for dinner on a Monday evening - had selected it for the location near the Hilton Hotel on 6th Ave where we were staying. Very pleasantly surprised at the lovely interior and quality of food and service. The price fixe of $29 is quite reasonable for the quantity and selections available. Would definitely recommend it!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed ourselves immensely!Enjoyed ourselves immensely! Carolyn Nardelli4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOld friendly places are great! We love returning to Ceci's. We used to go to Ciro's on Ninth Avenue. When it closed we did not know what to do. Then we accidentally came across Ceci's. All our friends from Ciro's had opened this new restaurant. The wonderful old specials are back, new tasty treats have been created and the place is jumping because the food and service are that good. May they all live long and prosper!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMStumbled on this via OpenTable.Stumbled on this via OpenTable. Was looking for a place to eat after a Broadway Show. Was not disappointed. My wife had the grilled chicken and veggies. She loved it. I did not even bother looking at the menu as I saw they had Pork Osso Bucco after checking out the website. Again was not disappointed. Nice piece of meat and the risotto was the best I ever had. Staff was attentive. I plan on going back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI was attending a show onI was attending a show on 42nd St - Ceci's was a quick 7 minute walk to the Theater! Why do I mention the location because this gem of a restaurant is the opposite of one of the tourist eateries that surround 42nd St.
I was with a group of 7 people and upon arrival we were seated quickly we told our waitress that we had to be out by a certain time to get to our show and our dining experience flowed accordingly. No waiting for food no rushing to finish our meal everything was timed right.
All 7 of us had different main courses and but all of us had the same reaction to our meals - wonderful.
So if you want to have a dining experience where the food is great the staff helpful this is the place.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a group of six andWe had a group of six and experienced great service and wonderful food!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice restaurant. ExcellentVery nice restaurant. Excellent service and wonderful food. Will revisit again4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinitely a Neighborhood GemThis is the second time I have visited this restaurant and we enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. The place is quaint and has the atmosphere of a small family owned restaurant. We had a great Italian meal. We give the service a B only because there were long periods of waiting to find the waiter. There was a manager/owner type person trying to help, but that seemed to create more confusion. We would highly recommend the restaurant. Our family enjoyed it a great deal.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth a tryExcellent meal after the show. No rush, food was excellent all around. 4 different dinners and not one disappointment. Service was very good. Excellent food at a reasonable price.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent find!!!Food and service was excellent.
