Diner Reviews
  • "My daughter and I had a girls' day/night out, and wanted a great dinner after a fun day. I read all the reviews and was hoping the food would live up to all the hype; it did. I asked for a window seat, and we got the only one they have. Our waiter was knowledgable, and had a sense of humor, which we happen to appreciate. He gave us the time we needed to read the menu and just talk before we ordered; we hate being rushed when we want to dine. My drink was made very well. I asked for extra marinara sauce b/c it was needed and it was brought promptly to the table. We will go back; desserts looked great, but we were too full; we will try next time."

  • "We went for an early dinner after a 2:00 show. The place had a few customers then but by the time we left it was crowded. I definitely recommend reservations. The staff was excellent. The choices on the menu was great as I would be able to bring my kids here. The food was delicious!!!! We had the ravioli, ziti ( that was on the 3 course menu). And the chicken with artichoke and mushrooms ( also on the 3 course menu). Everything was delicious. The salad was the BOMB, along with the bread. We will definitely be back!"

  • "I celebrated my 50th birthday at Ceci's and my daughter got engaged. The waitstaff was wonderful. We received a complimentary drink and the waitress took photos for us! The food was delicious(I had the lobster ravioli), and the place was intimate and inviting. I can't wait to go back!"

  • "Went as pre theater with 5:45 reservation on a Tuesday night, so was less than half full. There was one waiter that seemed to be handling most of the tables. Initially he was very attentive, but got a bit busy when time to bring the bill. Atmosphere was ok and noise level low. Food exceeded our expectations with the Pork Osso Bucco my favorite. Wine by glass selection was fine and typical $10-12 cost. I thought it was good value meal and we would definitely go back again."

The staff is fantastic always on the ready but never intrusive. We will continue to make this one haunts in New York."

  • "I did a search at 5 pm for restaurants near time square with a 7:30 pm reservation for 4 and found Ceci. After reading the reviews, I made the reservation and could not have been happier with the choice. Food and service were outstanding. Beautiful restaurant as well. We were there for my daughter's 16th birthday and she refused to let me tell the restaurant. Ironically enough, the were birthdays to our right and left and both tables were sung to, so she got the happy birthday song twice :)."

  • "I recommend Ceci for pre- theater dinner. It offers reasonably priced delicious food and attentive service. Marcello, our server was quite mindful of our need to enjoy dinner and still be on time for the theater. The receptionist could be friendlier and use some smiles though."

  • "My friend and I went here for dinner on a weeknight. The host and bar staff were really nice. They were willing to let me sit at the table until my friend arrived, which was nice because most restaurants want your WHOLE party there, but I chose to sit at the bar. The food was good, nothing to rave about, but good Italian food. The shrimp tempura appetizer was really good! Near the end of us dining, our waiter came over and asked us if we would mind moving because they had a party of 18 coming in and they needed our table to complete the only section they could fit the large party. We were fine with moving and they were so nice to give us dessert on the house because of it. Overall, it was a good dining experience, but nothing to rave about."

  • "Went to this restaurant before going to a Broadway show. The waiter was very attentive and the food was good. We weren't sure what wine to order and the waiter let us sample. We were not rushed at all. I had the seafood and it was good, portions were nice sized."

  • "I love spaghetti carbonara, it is rarely on a menu and if it is, it usually sucks. I asked server about it, she recommended it and it was perfect."

  • "We were looking for a restaurant during our trip to New York to see a Broadway show. I had gone on-line to search for a place close enough for us to walk to from the theater. Ceci's came up and reviews made it sound good. I do have to say that the outside appearance gave me some concern - scaffolding, construction area - but the inside is warm and inviting, the staff welcoming, and food amazing. We can recommend Ceci Italian Restaurant to anyone looking for a great place to dine."

  • "We come back whenever we can, usually three or four times each year. Seeing a friendly face, being recognized and welcomed, receiving wonderful service and eating great food is what we come for. Each time we walk in the door, that's exactly what we get. I had their pasta with chicken dish and my wife had eggplant rollatine. Both were served hot. Both were excellent and priced very reasonably-and then there is the discount for having tickets to the Roundabout Theater down the block!"

  • "Made reservations with OpenTable and our table was ready when we walked in. I ordered the Pizza Italiana and it was very good. My husband ordered the pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage and he said it was fine. My daughter ordered the eggplant parmigiana and thought the oil used was old tasting, the waiter asked for grated cheese and dumped about 4 tablespoons on it which ruined the dish but when we complained, it was immediately taken off the menu. I would return again though, and it was close to the theaters which is great and the atmosphere was lively. Don't judge from the outside, we almost didn't walk in but once you enter, it is very nice inside."

  • "I've been here so many times and always love it, the food is great. The soccer game was on the big screen and the crowd was going crazy, so much fun!"

  • "We got a last minute reservation and were totally satisfied. The location and atmosphere looked a bit worn but everything was clean and spacious. Our party of 4 was able to talk and enjoy without noise and with great service. The good was very good--we ordered tuna steak, a pasta special, a pizza, and steak and lobster--all perfect. I'd go back happily"

  • "I had a large party of 10 people and Ceci accomodated us with a smile. The staff was amazing and even the owner introduced himself to me. The food was fabulous, we all had different meals and everyone raved about thier meals. It is centrally located by Times Square and I look forward to going back soon!!"

  • "A friend recommended Ceci's when I needed a spot for a family gathering, and I am so grateful he sent me here. They accommodated our large group (13 of us, including three young children) in a semi-private area and the food was fantastic. Everyone raved - and with my family, that's quite an achievement! I would go back in a heartbeat."

  • "We dined at Ceci's on a Saturday before a broadway show. Our reservation was at noon and we were the only party there until about 1:00. We had a party of 6. Our wait staff was attentive and the food was very good. They have delicious bread! We ordered pizzas and veggie sandwich. All were very good. We would dine there again! I rated the noise level as quiet but I think it would be different if more people were dining in the restaurant."

  • "We went before a show on a Friday night. Tables were filling up quickly and the service was quick, without being rushed. The portions were perfect (I suggest the Osso Bucco). Creme Brulee was just ok. A little too much like pudding for my taste. Nice bar to have a cocktail before dinner. "

  • "Good food and service. Had a late dinner after a show."

  • "Second time here. The service was quick, which we needed due to a 7PM curtain time. Good food, but we were not given the Prix Fixe menu. We were celebrating my husband's birthday, but waiter neglected to bring out cake and candle that I had requested prior to my husband's arrival...most likely due to a large party that arrived afterwards. He was busy serving all the other tables-restaurant was almost fully booked, which is always a good sign on a Tuesday night. Will return due to good food and friendly service."

  • "This was my first visit to Ceci's. Looking for a different Italian restaurant in NY (from DC) from the 2-3 I always hit. This did not disappoint. Had the stuffed eggplant for an appetizer, and the Fiocchi Quattro Formagi and it was terrific. My friend love the gnocchi. Will definitely return."

  • "Food was well above average and although the restaurant was a bit worn it had a lot of atmosphere and we will use it again for a pre-theater dinner stop or lunch during the weekend. The seafood/pasta dishes are superb and I highly recommend them. The staff were friendly, but we had to flag down our waiter to order - no one had come to our table, after ordering and getting our drinks, for about 30 minutes. "

  • "Tucked into Times Sq, and affected somewhat by tourist traffic, this neighborhood gem serves quality Italian food. The pizza is big enough for an appetizer or a main dish. The feature dishes and pasta are excellent."

  • "We had dinner here a few nights ago with our 3 kids before seein a show. The food was really good. Pastas were home made, sauces were really, really good. The fettuccini Alfredo was awesome and the ravioli (house made) with pink sauce was exactly what I wanted. The portion sizes were just right also. Not huge and ridiculous, but plenty to enjoy. Would def. go back."
