Diner Reviews
  • "Great pre-theatre dining! Food ans ervice were terrific. HIghly recommend."

  • "We choose this place based upon its location to the theatre and their advertising of gluten-free dishes. The food was fine, average for the midtown area. As for the gluten free dishes, it appeared that perhaps their pizza was what they were referring to. The provided bread for the table, but it was not gluten free and did not offer an alternative. While I would return since the food was OK, for those needing gluten free dishes may need to ask the server a lot of questions or go elsewhere."

  • "Was looking for a pre theater dinner that would not break the bank and where you can hear the table conversation. This was a good fit. We had pasta carbon era, pork Osso bucco, red snappier special and chicken Murphy. Everyone said their food was good. No one said it was fantastic, my dish was a tad salty. Overall a nice dinner that suited our purpose quite well"

  • "Great for before theatre. Very convenient location. Speedy service when they know you are going to the theatre. Lobster ravioli was delicious with a great creamy sauce. Very good caesar salad,"

  • "This restaurant was booked last minute. We arrived a bit late but were greated with a smile. The fish was excellent, the pork ossobuco was very good, lasagna was great pasta dishes were very tasty. ( we were 7 of us). Would go there again!!!!"

  • "CiCi's is right on 46th St. Everytime we go see a broadway show we have dinner at CiCi's. We know the food is good and reasonable. Again a very good meal. Highly recommend this restaurant, they know your going to see a show but don't rush you out."

  • "Located right in the theatre district, this was the perfect restaurant for us to take our 5 adult nieces and nephews to dinner before a Broadway show. The Italian menu is extensive, the service quick and efficient, and the prices reasonable. From the lobster risotto, to the breaded veal cutlet, to the chicken, artichokes and mushrooms in wine sauce, everything was tasty and plentiful. They also presented cremes brûlées with candles for the 2 birthday celebrants among us. A great find."

  • "We enjoyed a pre-theater dinner and one of our group was happily surprised at the number and quality of the gluten free choices. She had to ask, as they're not listed on the menu, but it was worth the inquiry. The rest of us also found our meals to be high quality. We would definitely return."

  • "The food was very good but the service was terrible. It repeatedly was hard to get the waiters' or other helps' attention as they were too busy watching the television by the bar or talking with each other."

  • "We had dinner at Ceci's with 20 people. The food was great and definitely above the average Italian food you can find in NYC."

  • "Good lunch value for 13.95. Quiet when we Were there. The special menu is only outside It should be given at the table too"

  • "My wife and I dined here prior to an evening show. It was an exceptional find! The homemade cheese raviolis in vodka sauce was a good portion and not over-sauced . The sea bass was absolutely amazing, it melted in your mouth and came with a decent serving of clams and mussels. The radio was playing Spanish music louder than necessary, it wasn't bad it just wasn't appropriate for an Italian restaurant. Good caesar salad and pasta fagioli. All in all a great meal at an affordable price, I would recommend to any of my friends looking for dinner before a show."

  • "This restaurant was just right for us before the theatre. Our server was attentive and amiable. My husband and I both had the Prix Fix dinner special for $29.95. I had the salmone (absolutely delicious) while he had the Eggplant Parmigiano (also tasty and fresh). The salads were perfectly seasoned and the dessert of tortoni was refreshing."

  • "Ceci is a low key moderately priced restaurant, particularly convenient to the Laura Pels theatre on 46th street; worth a try."

  • "Good food. Good service. Reasonable prices (for a theater district place). Good for families/kids/groups. Ideal for an after matinee meal. The staff was very accommodating to my daughter's egg & nut food allergy. Call for a reservation."

  • "Found this restaurant on both Trip Advisor and Open Table. It has a very nice menu, some favorites and some new things. Service was fast and friendly and food was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "I've worked in the neighborhood for years but just found this restaurant. It is a perfect place for groups and for pre-theater. Portion of appetizer was a little large for us but entree was perfect. Food was fresh and cooked well. Staff was friendly and efficient even though they had two groups to serve as well."

  • "Went to Ceci based on the reviews and was not disappointed. The only reason for 4 starts instead of 5 was the fact they were short-staffed on a Friday night. Only one waiter and barmaid for the entire restaurant; however, they did a great job ensuring everyone was taken care of. They even allowed us to transfer our bar tab to our table and back to the bar again afterwards. The food was very good - I had the seabass, which was excellent, while my wife had the lobster ravioli. She really enjoyed it although I thought it lacked something. Nonetheless, we were both pleased with our choices. Would definitely go back the next time we find ourselves in the area."

  • "THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THAT I VISITED THIS RESTAURANT BEFORE THEATRE AND BOTH TIMES THE FOOD AND SERVICE WERE OUTSTANDING."

  • "Chose this restaurant after reading the reviews on Open Table and was not disappointed! The service was fabulous! Great wine and ambiance. Dinner reservations were for 5:45PM and we were seated right away. For dinner, we had chicken scallopine, rigatoni, the Fiocchi Quattro Formagi, and lobster ravioli. The Fiocchi Quattro Formagi and lobster ravioli were our favorites. Ordered the caesar salad but wasn't crazy about the dressing - not as much flavor as we are used to. Cheesecake for dessert also very good."

  • "Took my daughter and a group of her college friends here for dinner during a visit to NYC. Service was excellent! Waitstaff was very attentive and polite. Food was delicious. All of the picky eaters enjoyed every dish. Prices were fair given its uptown Manhattan. Will definitely visit again."

  • "I only found out about this restaurant on my iPad while I was in New York City recently. It just happened to be close to where I was staying at the time; as well, it was close to New York's Theatre District. As it turned out, this establishment turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The food was very good, the service was not too pretentious, and the ambience was very welcoming! I highly recommend this place for those looking for a good Italian meal in the Theatre District!"

  • "My husband and I ate here around 6 pm before a show on a Thursday evening. Although the tables are close together, it was not crowded so the noise level was very low. Service was great. Drinks and food were excellent. The atmosphere is really nice and you feel right at home. We will definitely be returning to sample more of their menu!"

  • "Food was good, not exceptional nor shockingly original. Service was very attentive and friendly. Fine place to go for a reasonable pirced, decent meal. Wine list was very reasonably priced with aolid, mid trade wines."

  • "This was our first time at Ceci. The staff was gracious, welcoming, and helpful. The food was terrific, with one exception -- the vegetables that came with my salmon were stone cold. :( And after we were served, the waitress disappeared for a while, so I couldn't get them reheated (it also took a while to get our check). But I would go again. It's on a quiet street close to the theatre district but without the frenzy, and the food was delicious."

  • "My husband and I were going to NYC for a long weekend and since I'm gluten free I googled GF restaurants. I found good reviews on this one so we gave it a try. We were so glad we went! The food was excellent and I was served GF warm bread along with my GF meal of pasta in an amazing cream sauce with lobster, it was a special. My husband had chicken parm and said it was delicious. He's a chicken parm expert since it's his favorite dish and gets it whenever he can. The service was A++, they couldn't have done a better job."

  • "Went on a date to this place, because of the good reviews on citysearch. The Calamari was so chewy I thought they gave me gum. So was the entire sea food plate my girl got. My pasta with broccoli rabe was mostly broccoli and very little pasta, and the garlic was sliced larger than my thumb. Overall the food was mediocre at best. The service was attentive, and the waiter did remove the calamari from the bill, but I wasn’t there to have the calamari removed, I was there to enjoy it! =("
