California native and Solvang resident, Chef David Cecchini combines fresh ingredients with diverse influences and years of experience to offer rustic Italian Cuisine in the heart of Santa Barbara Wine Country. The food is Italian in spirit, using local and seasonal ingredients.The menu features Neapolitan inspired, thin crust pizzas baked in an Italian wood burning brick oven with two daily-changing special pies and a "piatto del giorno" from the oven. CECCO'S menu is country casual and friendly, featuring hand made fresh pasta, salumi, salads, grilled meats and seafood. Local wines served by the bottle, glass and quartino are some of CECCO'S other tasteful offerings. Four unique dining areas are offered at CECCO; the casual elegance of the main dining area, along with the convivial dining counter, window counter seating with courtyard views, and the comfort zone at the pizza counter.

    Short Rib Tortellini and Mushroom Rav's were very good. Nice Caesar salad... something was off with the staff from the minute we walked in ...it was reflected in the inconsistent service. But definitely worth a try... we may have hit an off night. Individually everyone was very nice. We sat at a high top in the bar area... it was a little annoying having a light on a motion censor go on and off every time someone walked by.

    Great patio or indoor dining. We like outdoors when the evenings are nice. We usually have salad, fried oysters (yum) and share a pizza from their wood oven, many great flavors to choose from or share a pasta dish. They seem to do a great job hiring waitresses. They have always been awesome.

    My hubby lives the wild boar ragu and my salmon was delish. Would especially like to give a shout-out to our waitress: she was most attentive and took great care to make sure some requests we made regarding the preparation of our meals was done just right...thank you!

    Great Caesar salad, amazing Bolonese, and delicious pizza with a fresh tasty dough as well. All prepared ingredients were fresh, the waitress very accommodating, wine list fabulous.

    Party of four locals had a great dinner after Bocce. Perfect Pork Chops and Pasta dishes! Service was prompt and friendly.

    It's difficult to find REALLY authentic Italian restaurants anywhere these days; and you would think it impossible to do so in Solvang.... Until you visit Cecco!!! From the way they serve olive oil and balsamic with bread (the best bread I've had in a while), to the authentic dishes, you'll know right away that you hit the spot if you're accustomed to a particular standard for Italian cuisine. Service, ambiance, blah blah blah, was superb. Perfect, really. But it's always irrelevant when the typical disappointment sets in upon realization you're in a restaurant that just does Italian. Well, Cecco Ristorante IS Italian. There's even a guy (probably the owner) who will bust your chops if you like! The appetizers were ridiculous: the arugula with burrata and beets was unbelievable, as was the classy Caprese, done with a bit of pesto... OMG. But best of all were the paste and secondi. Not many places will do a fine carbonara or Bolognese, which we didn't try but will next time. But we had the panzerotti (ravioli) and almost died. For me it was the sage -- another clue we hit an authentic joint. The bistecca was also knock-out. And for a guy who eats very "clean" and healthy, it was perfect because the portions were generous, and the vegetables were done so right. Even if you're in Santa Barbara, do you really want to gamble on some "nice" place which poses as an Italian restaurant but really doesn't know what it's doing except pounding your wallet? Infinitely more worth it is the short spin north into Solvang, with zero risk of disappointment at Cecco -- a completely unexpected authentic Italian gem.

    It is our regular " before play" meal . It is always good Italian food and we can get our meal comfortably finished and in time to get to the Solvang open air theater performance. Their pizzas are excellent and they also have a nice selection of salads and pastas. Service is good also.

    I was looking for a great meal for a reasonable price in a very touristy area. Cecco was it! Great food, service, and environment . I had grilled red snapper that was outstanding . They had a very extensive wine list and knowledgable servers.
