A long time fan and guest of Sunset Marquis, this marks Michael’s first LA restaurant and he’s teamed up with Executive Chef Roger Eggleston to present dishes at Cavatina that showcase their unique cooking styles and bold approach to food.
Cavatina boasts an impressive wine list and the restaurant's setting and service embodies Sunset Marquis’ casual and relaxed vibe.

  • "I have been to this restaurant space before, but the new chef and menu is really incredibly lovely, and I very much enjoyed our meal. Our server was excellent, and we were able to relax and enjoy our meal without feeling pressured. The noise level was moderate, but there is water cascading under the terrace which also adds to the ambiance of this restaurant! I loved it. I would definitely go back, and definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a truly beautiful dining experience."

  • "My husband and I dined here Saturday night before going to a party at the House of Blues. How have we never heard of this place? The main dining area was a large, gorgeous patio framed in vines and twinkling lights. There was a fountain quietly cascading over the edge of the patio down steps of blue and green tiles. The service was great - the food was fresh and inventive with being too saucy or fussy. We loved every bit of it. We ordered the caviar service and were really impressed. Sea bass was delicious and light. Ancient grains and broccolini were fresh and flavorful. This is a place you want to stay and relax. We will definitely be back!"

No apologies for the confusion, nothing other than the lunchtime menu available. We ordered some oysters, found another table at The Tower nearby and fled. Wait staff kind of...dim. To be fair, Open Table should not have offered the reservation time at all for a such a busy night."

  • "I've been to Restaurant's brunch several times and every time we are getting less and less options, to the point where we were surprised of the few items available this time. No fish (except for sushi), a few tasteless salads, ONE carving station/omelet/crepe station and very few desserts. It feels like the buffet on a rundown hotel in Reno, but you are paying premium price for this. Off my book of options for LA brunch."

  • "We arrived at the hotel entrance, and were pleasantly surprised when we walked through and around to find a lush, almost tropical setting with lots of trees, a koi pond and waterfall overlooking the dining area. The ambience was superb, the food delish, and the service was unabtrusive. Our waiter was not stiff, but yielding in his attitude, and available readily, without interrupting our conversation. A very nice evening for our romantic Christmas dinner for two."

  • "We had a 4:30PM reservation on Christmas Eve. It's a nice looking restaurant - probably fun place with people - but otherwise simply "pleasant" when just two people. Meal was memorable in that it was odd. My wife had a seafood soup (which she liked OK) and a shrimp salad. All fine. I ordered the 'avocado bruschetta' - not sure what I was expecting but thought it might be interesting. They served me guacamole and toast points (which really don't go well together). My wife and I joked that I should have asked for chips and a margarita. For my main course I ordered the seared ahi tuna salad - but was brought the tuna tartar appetizer. It was Christmas Eve so I wasn't in the mood to send things back. Not recommending this place."

  • "Made res to take my wife and daughter out for Xmas Eve. Didn't know it was Pre Fixe. Unlike other pf's, they were ALL great choices. I had ham (as moist and tasty as I've ever had), my daughter had steak (tender and tasty) and my wife went with the recommended scallops. Not a scrap of anything was left on any of our plates. The soup and salad courses were outstanding. The service crew who drew the Xmas Eve time slot were top notch, matching the city's best ambiance with fantastic service. Love this place: food, ambience and service. TERRIFIC!"

  • "Usually not a fan of overpriced, overindulgent buffet brunches...this, however, is a completely different animal! Yes, there are multiple tables and a man making omelettes, BUT...he's also making fresh crepes and carving spectacular prime rib. The salads were unusual and outstanding (the red quinoa salad!), the quiche with white truffle was amazing, and the cheese and charcuterie selection was lovely. Oh, did I mention sushi? And bottomless mimosas? That's what makes this a great value, even at the price."

  • "Wow, where do I start. We got there and got a gorgeous seat right next to a very famous rock-and-roll singer we all knew who we later found out was a regular there. Initially we saw the menu and were a bit concerned that it was a bit small. We began with the asparagus proscuitto salad with poached egg. Sounds weird but was DELICIOUS!! Next we had chicken and the veal loin with mushrooms. Again, WOW. It was one of the best dishes I have ever had. Then the desert of panna cotta was also tremendous. The whole meal was truly a PARTY IN YOUR MOUTH!! If the meal and ambiance wasn't enough, the server really topped the whole night off. If you ever go there ask for Greg J. He was really knowledgeable of the menu and wine pairings. Definitely a must"
