there isn't anything bad about this place, wish they kept the pool up longer than one night. On the river, what a great place to have this cool restaurant and place to hang with friends. See ya there or be square. we're regulars!!! Ohh Yeah!

The chef did a great job in food prep - service was quick and friendly - drinks were tasty - it is definately a spot for the 20's thru 40's age group - very spacious and did not feel over-crowded

My group of 10 went for dinner at 7:15 on a Saturday evening for dinner before the club scene started. We had ample space and attentive service. The food was good--nothing fancy, just hearty American fare. We really enjoyed the specialty drinks. Overall, a very nice experience.

You sit at a plastic table and have a view of a burned out pier. Basicly a college hang out type of place. Fine for what it is, but a disappointment to us

I made a reservation, got there on time, and River Deck was completely closed. I've never known a restaurant to do that. So I have no idea if any of their food or service is good, but I can say there was no Noise, since no one was there. I won't be recommending people to go there, since I can trust that they'll actually be open.

We weren't impressed with this place. Parking was difficult, food was not that good, and overly expensive (Lobster roll was $15 and didn't come with any sides besides a small cup of coleslaw). Perhaps we hit them on an "off" day, but it was a Friday and it wasn't really packed. They had plenty of staff (young women) walking around but we didn't get our order in for at least 10 minutes, and then when I order arrived there was still no utensils. It took another 5 minutes for them to locate a fork... A FORK!! Things that should have been at our table without asking, but required us to ask: napkins, utensils, a working salt shaker. Adding to all this the location isn't that nice... the "bay" near the deck is backed up with trash.

Very disappointed, only a few tables and the bar have the view they promote on their site. Service was awful, we waited about 20 min after being seated for a waitress, mind you the place was relatively empty, waitress said the hostess admitted she forgot to tell her. The wrong food was bought out, some food was forgotten altogether and the drinks are way OVERPRICED! $9 is too much for cheap wine, and it was definitely not quality wine! The bill was wrong. A group of 8 ordering entrees and drinks was placed in the back of the restaurant, near the street and behind about 20 open tables to make room for those who "might" come for $1 hot dog night...what??? Management thinks that's more important than a group that ultimately spent over $200?

This my first time at this restaurant and because it was on penns landing, I expected a nice environment. But the ambience was a bit depressing. The restaurant is in need of a makeover asap. I ordered the cheesesteak spring rolls as an appetizer, they were good. I also ordered a chicken Caesar salad and I was disappointed. It just didn't taste right, I didn't care for the dressing. My daughter enjoyed her sliders and fries, so I wasn't totally disappointed. Maybe it's better at night, I don't know. The server was nice and helpful enough.

Food was good but not great. French frys were excellent but the slaw had a strange taste. Hamburgers were dry but still tasty. Waitress did not tell us of the specials for the day, only found out about them when we overheard another table's order. Deck and view were very nice. Would have been better if we had some shade.

No guarantee that our reserved seating time could be accomodated. Additional tables were set up in an area I had not requested. We then sat there for 40 minutes as "invisible patrons." Waitstaff looked away as they passed our table. Guess no one assigned. Moved to the bar near the water where the bartender was very apologetic and attentive. Good service at the bar. We were not in a hurry so it was an amusing situation. And, the view of the fireworks was great!

RESERVATIONS MEAN NOTHING AT CAVANAUGH'S. I HAD A CONFIRMED RESERVATION AND WHEN WE ARRIVED AT THE RESTAURANT THEY HAD NO TABLE AVAILABLE AND DID NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO SEAT US. THEY DID MANAGE TO GET US SEATS AT THE BAR ONLY BECAUSE ANOTHER CUSTOMER WAS GRACIOUS ENOUGH TO GIVE UP HIS SEAT AT THE BAR. VERY POOR PLANNING ON THEIR PART. THEY REALLY DROPPED THE BALL.

Right on the Delaware River. We go there early (about 7:30) and our waitress forgot to put in our appetizer, but she was really nice regardless. The salmon on my salmon salad was really good, but probably exactly 7-8oz and no more. My boyfriend got a chicken sandwich with jalapeno peppers and tater tots and he loved it! We went there on a Saturday night for early 4th of July fireworks, which we had a great view just sitting at the bar. This isn't the fanciest place, but with a few friends you'll have lots of fun!

I rated the service as fair because it seemed like our waitress was M.I.A a lot especially when you actually needed something. The burger I had was really good but my friend's salmon was on the fishy side and a guy at an adjacent table sent back his chicken because it was overdone, mixed drinks were not great either, stick to wine or beer.

The restuarant sits right on the river's edge. Great place to hang out and watch the ships pass. The food is basically bar food, but the wings are really good. At night it is more of a bar scene.

Strictly a bar scene. You're sitting at a table you would have on your deck, that you purchased in the 80's. Ok if you want a breeze, some sun, and a beer, but the bartenders can't make a drink that has anything in it. You get flavored colored water, and at the price charged you should be able to taste some of the liquor. I would only go back in shorts and a t-shirt for a beer. The staff are polite and try, but this is a 20 something play for beers, not a place to start an evening on Penns Landing at. Can't make a bar a restaurant, or even advertise it like that unless you take care of the place. Dilapidated.
