Made an Opentable reservation here a couple of hours in advance for a birthday dinner. Service was friendly and attentive. The waiter answered all of our questions and was highly conscientious in accommodating allergies. The food was yummy, I particularly recommend the foie gras pincho!!

What a wonderful welcoming place. We ate our way through 6 courses with each outdoing the last. Starting with the croqueta of jamon the food just got better. The sardines were beautifully prepared as were the veal sweetbreads with the amazing radicchio-poblano chile salad. The grilled beef tongue and celeriac salad was perfect before the piece de resistance of the lightly smoked sirloin cap with wild mushrooms and of course papas fritas. Lemon desert and coffee topped of a memorable meal. The Spanish roijas wine recommended to us paired beautifully with the meal. Our server was delightful and knowledgeable about all the tapas plates. We have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to others.

We were restaurant hopping before a concert, and were in a time-crunch. We told our server, and he suggested that we let him order for us -- we offered hints of favorite items and were treated to a great meal! The appetizers were the best though, the SuperGilda (sardines, anchovy, olive and something else on brioche) and the gamay-poached foie gras on brioche with black currant coulis were outstanding. I could have eaten rounds of that and been happy, they even accommodated my gluten-free diet. The timing was exact probably because we were one of their first tables and were on our way to the next stop. The only warning I add is that dinner here can become quite expensive as our 45min drop-in was $85 with one round of drinks!

Not knowing quite what to expect we dined with another couple. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. The food aromas drifting around got the palate salivating. The service was excellent and the server knowledgeable. We did set a menu alight with a candle just setting the stage for a fun evening. The tapas was enough to share for 4. Each dish with its distinct delicious flavor was delivered in a logical fashion at just the right pace. I seldom right a review but will always when a restaurant delivers above and beyond. Well done Cava

My wife and I love tapas, and Cava never disappoints. From the duck meatballs, to the frois gras or sablefish, the effort put into each dish is worth the extra you pay. There are few restaurants that can rival the so many different tastes your mouth will experience in one sitting. The actual ambiance is okay, but who really cares when the food and service are great! We will be back.

I'm a big fan of Cava, and have been for years. What was most gratifying about our recent visit was that not only are they still on top of their game, they might been even better than ever. We had a relatively modest weekday dinner, but everything was spot on. As always, there were a few new items on the menu, and everything we ordered was perfectly balanced and lovely. They were even able to accommodate gluten-free requests for my aging mother, on most everything, without missing a beat. Great spot; one of the best in town (still).

We loved: the iberico ham, sablefish, chipotle caramel popcorn, pincho, foie gras, tiritas, and eggplant. Also definitely try the grapefruit gin special. We liked: the duck meatballs, cauliflower and papas fritas. We disliked: the churros. Great service and almost all delicious food makes this a worthwhile dining experience. It is pricey though. For 4 people- two drinks each the bill was $400 with tax and tip.

I think of Cava as providing a "build-your-own" tasting menu: small, tapas-style portions that are great for two or three to taste. So dinner can be nice and light, or you can really make a meal of it. And the flavours? Oh, my! Foodies of the world, unite!

I hadn't been back to Cava for a few years as the last time we were there, it was a little disappointing. Not the food (that is always consistently excellent), but the ambience. It's kind of an odd spot to begin with and it was almost completely empty. It must have just been an off night, because this time it was back to its vibrant self. The service was top notch: very knowledgeable, but not condescending. Our waiter even gave us a couple of tasters of sherry (unsolicited) after we expressed an interest in the different types. The food is really what keeps us coming back though. Interesting combinations of flavours (the foie gras was crazy good) and perfect execution. Great, affordable wine list. We'll be back a lot sooner now!

I really like this restaurant and have been there many times. This latest visit found the food to be okay, but not great and the sirloin arrived after a 25 min wait and was lukewarm. And that dish for $60! I think the prices have gone over the top and the quality of the food has not followed.

Cava is a very nice small restaurant specializing in Spanish tapas. They have a very good menu that is never static and, as a result, always interesting. The service is very consistent and thoughtful. Menu highlights include foie gras with rhubarb relish, grilled peppers, serrano ham, and grilled sardines. There is enough variety in the menu to please everyone.

Food still very good, although heavier than I remembered. The Riojas are very good, albeit at a price. After some rounds of tapas, we ordered a cheese plate, and it took almost 30 minutes to arrive. It was delicious, with quince jelly etc., but it cannot have taken more than 2 minutes to plate. Instead of an apology, we got stories on how the chef was so busy. By that time, our bottle was finished so the wine-and-cheese idea fell through. The waiter clearly saw this, but must have been thinking: not my problem. Hmmm. Will pass on this place for a while.

There are not enough characters to expound on my love for this place. This was the second occasion we visited this excellent partially hidden gem on Yonge Street. We went for a pretty late dinner this time and the service remained outstanding. We had our server order for us, which I totally recommend. It helps that we are both pretty adventurous eaters, but our server did check that we had no allergies or negative biases towards food. Four or five plates will do two of you perfectly. I'm writing this review late so I can't remember all the dishes we had, but each tasted like magic in my mouth. And the wine list- so many fine choices that you are bound to find the perfect wine to suit your meal (and your preferences). Go here. Just go.

Booked a table for 4 on Sunday, $15 corkage so brought a bottle of my better wines. Service was very attentitive but not pushy. Water and wine glasses were always filled. Empty plates cleared promptly. One waiter was not too familiar with the menu but he went to find out from the Chef. Tapas very tasty, portions were quite small and quite expensive. Waiter was very good in pointing out that we do not have to order too much so he was not upselling. As I said the service was good. We were there at 6 and it was quite cozy, and then the restaurant starts filling up by 7:30 noise level was quite high. That made conversation a bit difficult. I could put up with the price of food, but the noise level really damper the dining experience.

We dined at Cava on the weekend with our 8 year old. We had them feed us and I can say it was plentiful. We ended up having about 9 dishes. My favourite was the eggplant for sure. Tapas were great, but I was at Bar Isabel two weeks ago and found it more flavourful. The service was very good. They were also attentive to our son. This is not a cheap place to dine. But then, anything out of the ordinary isn't. Bill was under 300 with 4 drinks. Might return, but I've had more enjoyable experiences at some other fine dining restaurants. But I would say that if you're a foodie type of person, give it a try.
