  • "We visited Catch on a Friday night @ 9:00pm and the restaurant was packed. We had to wait a little past our dining reservation by @ 30 min but it was totally worth the wait!! The Mushroom Spaghetti and the Lobster Pasta were the most amazing items on the menu! I wanted to lick my plate! I asked the waiter for a dinner recommendation choice and I would have to agree that the Mushroom Pasta is the BEST PASTA ON THE PLANET!! If you like mushrooms get this dish!! The secret to this dish is in the sauce. Everyone at the table was very happy with their meal. We were in NYC for four days and this meal was voted our favorite! The restaurant is noisy/lively! The six of us sat at a round table and that allowed us to have a conversation!"

  • "The food and drinks at Catch are great. The service, however, is not. The waiter was pretentious. My wife was undecided on two options on the menu because she wasn't sure what one of the options was (she wasn't sure what kind of fish one was). When the waiter asked what she was choosing between he told her to "forget about it" (the fish she didnt know), instead of explaining what it was or what it could be compared to. We also asked if any specific dishes had oyster sauce (because my wife has a food allergy to oysters) and instead of telling which dishes had oyster sauce he told us that oyster sauce isn't even made with oysters. A quick search of oyster sauce will show you that to make oyster sauce you boil oysters.. great food, bad service"

  • "The food was good for what was left on the menu. By the time we were ready to order our entrees we were informed they were out of 4 dishes. They also ran out of Belvedere vodka. During our meal there was an issue with a group of diners that ended up getting kicked out of the restaurant. It seemed like the entire staff was standing around watching the incident unfold and thus cost the service to be very slow for us."

  • "The food was all delicious, starting with the pretzel bread and honey mustard butter. We split the triton roll, tar tar trio, and lobster rolls with the lobster mashed on the side. The lobster mashed are a must, even if you don't like traditional mashed potatoes. Our waiter wasn't particularly attentive but it may have been an off night. regardless the food and fun ambiance made up for it."

  • "UNFRIENDLY hostesses, terrible communication among staff, nice waiter, cool place, great food, again TERRIBLE HOSTESSES they act like they are just too good for everyone and "above" the guests. They will not seat you on time (i was seated 45 min late) and they walk around like obnoxious, "too good for you" models. They don't make eye contact and they act like they are on the catwalk not working at a restaurant. TERRIBLE front of house. GREAT chefs."

  • "I was celebrating my Birthday and the server was so really rude.My wife had asked the server if there is any birthday special for the birthday boy and he was really rude..Forget about wishing..I have been to so many expensive fine dinning restaurant and the server go out of the way to make the person feel special...I dont care about free dessert... We had to ask for silverware every time the plates were picked. Our server was really not up to the standards of the restaurant."

Fish entrees were good but not the best by any means and the "recommended" dishes of lobster Mac and cheese and the lobster mashed potatoes were huge disappoinentments (not reach or creamy or much lobster). And they were blasting club music during an early Sunday evening in main dining room. Way overpriced and overhyped. Go elsewhere."

  • "Buzzy atmosphere, food with wonderful flavors, yummy drinks, however, my review today is really about the outstanding service. While the first few dishes came quickly, there was a noticeable time lag on two of our dishes. We were all busy chatting and just enjoying the evening, but our server noticed the food was not coming out as it should and followed up with the kitchen. While you would expect the server to do that, he then brought a glass of champagne for each of us. He didn't have to bring the champagne, but his recognition of the situation and the gratitus champagne, made the evening perfect."

  • "I have been to Catch before and we decided to come back as it has a great menu!We went for the sharable style and everything was really tasty. The sushi is great and so is the crispy shrimp. My husband ordered the Scallop and cauliflower which was amazing! Great dessert menu too. The service was good, but not amazing. However, it didnt really affect anything nor my overall opinion of this restaurant. Cool place with good ambience."

  • "I had my dinner reservation at 9:45pm with the restaurant on 7-11. Got seated 30 min. Almost walked out. I spent $200 including food and couple of drinks. The seafood platter supposed ot be 3 tiers became 2 tiers. Money is no object to me. I spent dining alone from exlcusive restaurants like Masa, Per Se, Daniel, TAO Uptown & Downtown, Jean George, Brushstroke, Del Posto, Bouley and others, yet I get seated right away. This place Catch I have to wait. Following night 7-12, I made a reservation at 10:00pm. I specifically noted & requested to be seated on the second floor. The hostess said, I have to wait for 1 hour. I said I Don't Think So. Cancel my reservation. I'm going to TAO downtown. I went got seated right away and I spent $220."

  • "Waited 15 minutes for our table, sat down and waited another 20 minutes before our waitress arrived at the table. After she took our drink order we waited another 15 minutes before we approached the manager who sent another waiter over to help us. Could go on and on, but basically dinner was served (to 7 out of 10 of us) at 10:30 for an 8:15 reservation--other 3 dinners came out 10 minutes later. Also, waitress was so bad that she brought us dessert menus and didn't even realize we hadn't been served our entrees yet! Food was average when it was finally served! This was a Wednesday night--not a weekend!"

  • "waiters were extremely extremely rude it was my 21st birthday and they were trying to rush us out of the place. we weren't even finished with our meals, and they brought me out a desert with a candle on it when half of the party was outside having a smoke. Clearly everyone would want to sing happy birthday and clearly we were not ready for the check. After the singing and all was done the check was brought immediately without anyone asking for it. I don't know if there was a need to rush us out so you could seat another party but i reserved a reservation and deserve to sit and enjoy my birthday without rude waiters giving me angst and also over charging us 200 dollars for a bottle of over rated sake that we didn't even order. never again"
