We had the Firecracker shrimp app (my overall favorite and am now craving it!), my husband loved the mahi dinner, the lobster roll and fries were good and we had the most amazing chocolate mousse/ganache layered dessert. Also the strawberry mash martini was good and strong and hit the spot. Also loved the atmospere which was nice and quiet and we had excellent service from the waitstaff. Its a smaller place so I am sure tough to get in on the weekends without a reservation, but we went on a Wednesday so it wasn't as crowded. It was an all around great time! Service time was not as prompt as we would have preferred but the wait staff was scurrying as fast as they could. We females prefer not to be called "guys" as we are true Southern Ladies! The food was amazing, best seafood restaurant in Wilmington, NC, by far. The service was good, it was a little slow but the food made up for it. My 4 year old son came with us and he loved it. They made him fried shrimp & french fries and he loved it. They gave him crayons and a coloring book too, which I was not expecting. They were very kid friendly. The food is on the expensive side but WELL WORTH IT! We will be going back again, would love to go for lunch as well. The pickled beet salad and sweet potato salads were outstanding! My salmon entree was delicious and my husband enjoyed his shrimp and grits. We went with many of the recommended dishes and weren't disappointed. The restaurant was smaller, pleasant and quiet, so that we can easily visit with the people that we were dining with. What a great little resteraunt. We were not disappointed. We were greeted in a friendly manner and escorted to our table. Our waitress was able to explain the specials and handle all of our questions. She helped us select our wine which we enjoyed a great deal. We both selected the beet salad. It was fantastic, very tasty, nice size and nicely presented. My wife had the lobster and thought it was great. I had the crab cakes, they too were wonderful. Top it off with homemade ice cream and you have a superb meal. The chef has a true gift and imagination for preparing seafood. In a town where you can get excellent seafood, Catch is a definite top shelf experience. The food was outstanding - we all had flounder, mahi mahi and tuna dishes, calamari and shrimp as starters, excellent sauv blanc wine, fabulous place, can't wait to return, you are the best in Wilmington.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite in WilmingtonThis is our favorite restaurant in Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach. We have been three times now and each meal has been deliciously prepared. It is imaginative food but not frou-frou. I have had fantastic flounder, trout and crab cakes as entrees. The Firecracker shrimp appetizer and Sweet Potato Salad are also to die for.

I could not tell you anything that I would want to change in the restaurant. We had one of the most marvelous waitresses/server that I have ever seen. SHE WAS SIMPLY THE BEST THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN-SHE WAS ALWAYS AHEAD OF OUR NEEDS. Our whole dining experience was one that you dream of having!
