2nd visit. Food was very good again however wait staff, this evening, seemed somewhat overwhelmed and probably could not provide the service level they were capable of due to covering too many tables. We will be going back as this is good spot, good food and excellent value.

An intriguing, tasteful, imaginative design with Chihuli-esque (or octopus) chandeliers and other motifs of all things marine. Many, many wines by the glass--all for $7--are appreciated. The fish is fresh and well prepared. Staff were extraordinarily hospitable and conversant about the menu.
This is my second visit, and I have to think the relatively few diners reflects less on the quality of the dining experience than on the cost; it's pretty pricey for lunch.

Our food was fine. No complaints, but not exciting. Would try it again though.
The restaurant is fairly new and we observed some serious lapses in training and knowledge of things like Open Table. The wait staff had never heard of it, the Manager thought I had to contact Open Table to get the points, so they never noted that we showed for our reservation and we did not get points until I made several phone calls and sent emails. I think they will improve with time as all are pleasant...just need to be made aware of front of house issues.

The place presented itself beautifully...the staff was very nice, however the service was extremely slow and they were not very busy. (would hate to see if they were). The sushi was great, however the dinner very disappointing...we ordered the sea bass, it was very dry and over cooked, the vegetables were the best part of the dinner, not impressed since this is supposed to be a "fish" restaurant..
I sure hope they get it together, we'd like to go back since we love walking from home to restaurants downtown Carlsbad.

Both our server and the hostess apologized for the length of time it took to get our entrees, saying the kitchen was "slow" that Friday night. Between the wait for the table and the wait for the food I had spent $21 on 3 very small glasses of wine. I was hoping to be comped for at least one of them but no luck. I suppose if I'd asked, but after the 3rd apology I thought maybe they'd offer -- no luck. The food was very good though. I'd go back on a weeknight.
