Diner Reviews
  • "The food was just ok. The pairings and seasonings seemed off. Additionally it was really cold in the restutaunt."

  • "This is my favorite Naperville restaurant. The food is always great, servers are the best. It's summertime, so sitting outside is so much fun."

  • "My husband and I enjoyed our Anniversary dinner on Friday. The service was wonderful as usual and my husbands meal of Sea Bass was fabulous. I had the King Crab legs as I normally do and was very disappointed. The portion was much smaller than usual and the quality was just OK. There was one piece that was nice, firm and sweet, but the rest was pulpy and fishy tasting. Definitely not worth the $59 price tag. I've had better at an all you can eat seafood buffet. So, that was very disappointing. The manager was very concerned and ending up paying for my wine. We will go back, but I don't think I would order crab legs again. The entire Crab/Lobster/Surf N Turf menu is overpriced. The rest of the menu is quite reasonable for what it is."

  • "We had an excellent meal with fresh, quality ingredients and attentive service. The mussels with Thai lemongrass were the best we've ever had."

  • "It was fine. Nothing special. The shrimp was a little overdone. The drinks are overpriced. The lobster bisque was good."

  • "Overall a nice experience. Our server was good, but not very personable. Food was very good, portions are on the small side, and wait time was quite long."

  • "Everything was very good, including the waitstaff, except the food. Salads dressed so poorly we had to verify if dressing was even on the salads. Risotto over cooked. Pad Thai not as good as the carry out place that costs less than half. Wondered if the cooks were all new. Will not return."

  • "The chilean sea bass dish my wife ordered was amazing. Everything else was good, but that stole the show."

  • "Great food! The Chilean Seabass was outstanding. Portion sizes were just right. Exhaustive menu. A martini to remember. I would definitely visit again."

  • "Celebrated my wife's 70th birthday with dinner for two. It was an outstanding experience. We will go back many times."

  • "Always a great dining experience. Excellent seafood, atmosphere (you can hear each other!) and service. We were also surprised by the Thursday night special - half off selected bottles of wine!"

  • "We had the tempura asparagus for an appetizer. It was excellent. We both had the Copper river salmon which was awesome."

  • "Although we had to wait a while for the waitress to come and take our drink orders, after that she was quite attentive and the food did not disappoint. Always love the way they prepare their whitefish and the key lime pie was perfect."

  • "We went to Catch 35 to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We had been there before and had enjoyed the food and the experience. We all enjoyed the bisque but the meal went downhill from there. My daughter's order was wrong, my husband thought Noodles Pad Thai was better and my mashed potatoes and spinach were tasteless, while my filets were good. Service was not anywhere as good as usual. Wait time to order dessert and to finally get our bill was exceedingly long. The mints as we were leaving were actually one of the best parts of the evening. The receptionist and the bus staff were good but Ashley didn't deliver the level of service we had there in the past. It was not the experience we expected based on previous visits."

  • "Coming to the Midwest from Seattle I find it hard to get good seafood options in Naperville. There is a wide variety of options here including Wild Salmon. Since I have only tried the seafood I can only say that they are prepared excellent and in really nice portions and presented in an elegant manner. Service has always been top notch and the wine and drink selections are very large."

  • "The food was excellent, the service was excellent. From the minute we walked in the door my wife and I had a great experience. We asked and were seated in a booth. Every course was so good. Waiter, server etc were all professional, helpful and polite. We will be back!"

  • "The food and wine were excellent as usual. But when paying close to fine dining prices one expects to be given the time to enjoy the food. We were in and out in 45 minutes. The entree came while we were still working on our appetizers and plates were whisked away even though the other person was still eating. For the first time ever we still had half a bottle of wine left to take home. I understand the need for a restaurant to turn the tables; especially on a Saturday. But when I make very early reservations (5:30) I don't expect to be back in the car by 6:30. Again, i want to stress that the food was amazing - it was the rushed service that put us off."

  • "We enjoyed good food and attentive service in a quiet setting. Lighting was adequate to read menus, decor was formal and warm without being stuffy. Lobster and crab legs were good for midwest though pricey. If you have eaten shellfish on the east coast, save some money and try one of the other dishes. The roasted garlic and blue cheese potatoes are one of the best potato dishes I've ever eaten with just enough blue cheese edge. For dessert, the black cherry sorbet was very flavorful and won our "taste test" over the less interesting blueberry panacotta."

  • "Being from NY it has been a challenge to find good seafood in this Area. Catch 35 did not disappoint, the service was impeccable and the food delicious. The Lobster Sliders were amazing and the amount of Lobster in them was generous. The Swordfish and Salmon were cooked perfectly. I would recommend to anyone who wants a great meal for a special occassion."

  • "We had a group of four, and we started with the mussels and shrimp appetizers. They were outstanding. Well prepared, seasoned and fresh. We moved to salads and soups, the bisque was stellar. We had the halibut, salmon, lobster and a shrimp dish, and they were all wonderful. Their tomato quinoa side is really delicious. We closed the meal with key lime and pecan pie. Absolutely worth the calories, be sure to save room. And our server was not only professional, informed and helpful, but he is perhaps one of the most courteous persons we've ever met! They set the bar very high for others to try to follow!"

  • "We had an out-of-town friend, and on Saturday the choice of lunch places at 11:30 AM is rather limited. We chose Catch 35 based on the web reviews. I am not sure who is writing those since we totally disagree with the good marks. The only positive aspect of this experience was very friendly staff, but the food was rather awful. We had three different dishes: bouillabaisse. tuna tartar and a whitefish, and I would not recommend any of them. I think the chef does not know what the bouillabaisse is, tuna tartar was served with lots of mayonnaise and the whitefish served on a bed of mashed potatoes. I will not give this restaurant a second chance. Food is what you go for in the restaurant."

  • "We dined here for my daughter's birthday. When I made the reservation, the host asked if it was a special occasion & I indicated my daughter's birthday. Ricky was our waiter - outstanding! He was very attentive, well versed on the menu offerings & made the dining experience exceptional. At the end of the meal he offered my daughter a dessert of her choice for her birthday - we didn't even have to mention it to the host or to him - the restaurant made note of it and passed it along to Ricky. That doesn't happen very often. My only negative point was when we first were seated by the host, he put us at a table by the kitchen. The restaurant was only a 1/3 full/occupied. We asked for a better location & it wasn't an issue."

  • "The sea bass was really good and my boyfriend enjoyed his crab cakes. I thought some things were overpriced but overall I was happy with everything. I liked the location and the night life along with all the little shops that were in walking distance of each other. I would go back for sure and maybe next time go with my girlfriends to have a nice lunch along with some shopping."

  • "We were celebrating our daughters graduation from high school with immediate family. We were promptly seated as we had a reservation. The calamari appetizer was perfectly prepared, not chewy or fishy at all. All of our fish dishes were fresh and flavorful. Our daughter received a complimentary dessert to make her feel special for her celebration. We would definitely return for lunch or dinner."

  • "Went for dinner with friends on a monday evening very enjoyable as the noise level was very quiet. Have been at catch 35 on the weekend also and the noise level can be a slight problem. As for the food always very good have not had a bad meal at this restaurant in Naperville."

  • "A delightful experience. Food and service were outstanding. Excellent fish dishes, wonderful seafood bisque. Will definitely return and will also recommend it to friends."

  • "This is our favorite restaurant in Naperville. Catch 35 has the best seafood in the area. A must try are the Blue Hill Bay Mussels in garlic, herbs & wine. The noise level is not stuffy quiet, but quiet/moderate enough to carry on a conversation with other guests. The background music adds the right touch without being obtrusive. That is a big plus for me."

  • "The food was great as usual. I got the Lake Superior Whitefish which I thought was on the thin side. Otherwise, everything was excellent."

  • "We reserved for 8pm in Saturday night and arrived on time. The host showed us to our table in the back of the dining room. The table was still being set. Awkward. Later a manager came over to take our dring order because our server was busy. My beet salad with whipped goat cheese was good. The king crab legs were simple and delicious. The sweet pea risotto was under done."

  • "Need I say more? We chose Catch 35 for a graduation celebration and so glad we did. Everyone loved their dish and the ambience allowed us to enjoy great conversation and the special moment that it was."
