Catch 35 - ChicagoTasty!Went there for dinner before catching a show. Food was excellent and portions were perfect. Didn't exactly like where they sat us - in the back and table was quite close to the table next to us - hard to maneuver in and out. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food. Would go back.6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat fine diningEnjoyed the menu selections, especially the seafood, which is always top quality and fresh. The sea bass was excellent as was the key lime pie dessert. Atmosphere was classy. Food was prepared and served promptly. After dinner coffee could have been a bit quicker. Overall, excellent.6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!Food was excellent, wine selection was good, and service was top-notch. Staff was very accomodating when we were running late because of traffic, and moved our reservation so we wouldn't miss out. A very good experience.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMwell done! What a great restaurant. The wait staff was the best I've had in years. Everything was spot on. We dined on appetizers of Buffalo Shrimp, Coconut Shrip and Crab Cakes. The entres of Salmon, Chilian Sea Bass, and Filet medalians were exceptional. I would highly recommend this restaurant.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual, a wonderful diningAs usual, a wonderful dining experience - the food, the service, timeliness getting us out for the theater. First rate every time we've been there!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFish FeastCatch 35 has a daily menu for fresh fish - our party of 4 were deliciously happy with our fish choices, which was perfectly prepared. Loved the fresh oysters too.
Live jazz at 6 pm.
Our second visit in a 1 month - and just as delicious as the first time.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great CatchCatch 35 has been around for over 20 years and it is still a great place to eat. We had the famous crab cake as well as the blackened swordfish, soft shell crabs and sea bass. It was all delicious. We never felt rushed and our waiter gave excellent recommendations. We topped our meal off with the famous cheese cake and the Key lime pie. Yummy!. All around great experience....again.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNice eveningCelebrated our anniversary here. Nice menu, excellent food and desserts. Nice wine selections.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for Client DinnersI will definitely use this as my "seafood place" the next time I take a client to dinner in Chicago. Our waiter was very attentive and had a sense of humor, which made our dinner even more enjoyable.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food, Great MusicRead a review that said Catch 35 was one of the top 5 places in Chicago for seafood. We were not disappointed. The next time I'm in the area we will definitely go back. We were seated in the dining room, but if you love Jazz I would encourage a seat at the bar.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful restaurant. I'veWonderful restaurant. I've never had a long wait. There is a nice piano bar with live music. The sea food is fresh and cooked well. I had oysters and salmon, my wife had the halibut. All three were great fish cooked well.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBoth food and service wasBoth food and service was amazing. The best fish & seafood in Chicago.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious Seafood in the LoopFresh, delicious seafood right in the loop. Perfect for before a show (the waiters even double check when you sit down to see if they need to hustle to get you to a show). Good selection of a variety if seafood options. None have disappointed.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWindy City Loop Gem, SeafoodMy wife and I had a great dining experience here. The food was delicious, large portions, and hot. Try the Prix Fixe selections at 29.95. Very hard to beat. Great jazz band playing in the bar area if you like that. Waiter was also excellent. Valet parking for 10.00 if you need it.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent fresh seafoodI had the scallops and they were great. Others at the table had halibut and raved about it as well.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious as alwaysCatch 35 never disappoints. Food was amazing, great service.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had to wait for our tableWe had to wait for our table despite reservations, HOWEVER, they made it up to us by paying for our first round. Server was great, just attentive enough! Great seafood gumbo!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMChilean sea bass was outstanding.Chilean sea bass was outstanding. Waitress got our order mixed up but quickly brought out the correct order. The fish was super and the veggies and salad were good.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAll-star lunchThe selection & food were great, and our server was friendly & attentive without being intrusive. We wanted to change tables at the outset, and the other staff helped us cheerfully & told our server. We tend to bring new hires here on their first day, to give them a great onboarding experience and let them know we value their presence in our workplace. What better place to do this than Catch 35?5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great. CookedThe food was great. Cooked the way I ordered it. The waiter was perfectly helpful without over doing it. substitutions were not an issue. And it didn't cost us our first born!! Not very romantic but I guess it wasn't really meant to be??5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great dinner thereWe had a great dinner there on Sunday night! The restaurant was nearly empty at 5:00pm. We were able to valet park our car for $10 and retrieve it after our show was over, which is a great perk. The food was excellent, the service attentive, and even the non-seafood eaters greatly enjoyed their steak! I would definitely go back.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat seafoodthis was a great place for seafood. some dishes could use less butter, but great overall.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMQuiet but RomanticThe dishes were very reasonably priced, very appetizing/filling and delicious, and provided enough of a variety that for large parties everyone can find something they liked. The service was excellent and prompt, although this may have been helped by the fact that the restaurant certainly quieted down significantly around 8pm on a Friday night. This created a romantic atmosphere and the live music by the bar, which could be heard at the back of the restaurant, was very enjoyable, but the back room felt a little empty. Overall, the food was excellent although it did not blow me away, however I would certainly want to return perhaps and try some of their other seafood dishes.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAccolades to the ChefAlways creative with seafood dishes. Even the whitefish was soooo fresh and tasty. The hot dishes were served hot and the serving was enough so there's no need to take food home. Equal amounts of vegetables and starches. So creative with desserts.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic "Date Night" with My WifeIt's a rare occassion when my wife and I get to go away and re-ignite the romance of our early years. Dinner at Catch 35 and a Broadway production turned out to be exactly what the doctor ordered. Forgive me for not recalling the specifc names of the items, but all deserve kudos. Service was friendly, social and timely. I didn't feel as though I was being rushed, but there was immediate service when desired. The appetizer we enjoyed was the spicy shrimp. It had a little bite, but nothing you wouldn't enjoy at a local "wing" joint. The Sea Bass and the catch of the day (Halibut) were both incredibly tasty. Moist, tender and flavorful in that the condiments were MINIMAL. The true flavor of the fish was allowed to dominate. The key lime pie an5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for business dinnerBroad menu gave even fish haters more than a couple of options, and the food was delicious. The Ambience was energetic but not loud loud for talking, and the waitstaff was attentive without hovering. Overall an excellent meal and my business guests were impressed and very happy.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and serviceExcellent food and service in a nice atmosphere and live music. If you are going to the Goodman theatre parking is free. Service was superb and time to have dinner was perfect. We are already planning our next trip.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat SpotThe service was awesome as well as the food. The staff worked together and that's a plus. The environment was very romantic and there was live music. We had a three course meal for $30. Loved it!!!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and ambience!!We used to live in Milwaukee area and now reside in The Villages, Florida. We had been to your restaurant 3 times while living in Milwaukee. On this trip to Milwaukee we decided to come to Chicago and have dinner at our favorite restaurant - Catch 35. We sure were not disappointed. Our server Paul was outstanding. What we love about your place is that there is no rushing. We thoroughly enjoyed a very relaxed dinner and of course the food was excellent. We will be married 45 years this year and what a way to start our 45th year of marriage than at your restaurant. Our son does business in Chicago and we have recommended your restaurant to him to take clients. Thanks again for a wonderful meal and you will see us there again!!!!!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDepending on where you sitDepending on where you sit it can be noisy - hostess was very accomodating when we requested a change of table. Wait staff attentive but not hovering - food was excellent as always.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLong Time CustomerService is great. The food is very good and is in line with the price. Valet parking makes a tough location easy to attend.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMVery solidCan't really say anything bad about this place. Great food, great service. Maybe only small thing (and this is just being picky) was the atmosphere. The back half of the restaurant seemed to have a complete different feel than the front half. But I'll still be going back5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasant surpriseI have eaten at Chicago restaurants of all kinds and this one is really excellent. Great for friends in town and out and you won't be disappointed.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMy ExpectationIt had been several years since I lasted frequent Catch 35 so I was a little apprehensive about dining there. Howeve, to my surprise it was better than I anticipated. The visit exceeded my expectations by far! The food was delicious & the drinks were on "point!" I will definitely be back very soon. Thank you5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this place!Visiting from Indiana and this is our 2nd trip here. We really should have tried another restaurant since we don't get here very much but our last meal was so good we wanted to share it with friends this time! We all had another great meal from beginning to end!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPlease Your PalateI've been to Catch 35 on numerous occasions, and this visit was no exception: it just plain tastes great. A friend and I both ordered the scallops; they were succulent, tender and scrumptious. The service was timely but not pushy. The waiter we had on this visit had a sense of humor and a great smile. We didn't hang around, but they also have a very cool jazz trio in the lounge area that would be a lot of fun to sit and listen to before, during or after dining. I eat out a lot, and Catch 35 is definitely my go-to restaurant when I want to celebrate something special and be sure to get great food and service.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMSpectacular SeafoodThe waiter noticed my husband and I were well dressed and asked if we had an event-we replied yes, a 7:30 pm curtain at the Cadillac Theater. The waiter said - we will have you out of here by 7 pm, which we did. The 1/2 dozen oysters were great, my husband and I shared a swordfish and shrimp dish, excellent creamed spinach and great sourdough bread.
Would go back in a heartbeat.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was superbI had a group of eight for private dining and they were completely satisfied with every aspect of their dining experience. I and the other coordinator of the group had our diner out in the restaurant and our meal was fantastic.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food , wait staffExcellent food , wait staff rushed meal along... Made the overall experience less enjoyable5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBest mussels ever!We enjoyed the finest quality mussels ever! ... and we order mussels often!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Service-Especially appreciated the friendly, knowledgeable and patient wait staff. Always a pleasant experience to lunch at Catch-35.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFab & Fine!Fabulous food, perfect service! We had a great experience, very glad we chose Catch 35 to celebrate my wife's birthday!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat service and foodThe appetizer and dessert courses were the best part of the meal. The entree was very good, but didn't hold a candle to the others. We had the Hawaiian sea bass, which was explained to be the signature dish of the restaurant for the past 23 years. The carrot cake bread pudding out-shined everything else on the menu.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSeafood with an Asian fair----absolSeafood with an Asian fair----absolutely fresh, clean, delicious!! Wait staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. Live music in the bar. Decor was attractive; lighting was perfect. Shrimp and scallops were perfectly prepared. The tomato and mozzarella salad was one of the best I have ever had! Key lime pie was light and pleasantly tart---not sweet like some. A real plus!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGood seafoodWe liked the dinner very much. The Sea Bass was delicious, not sure that was on risotto as specified. A generous helping so shared with my husband. The scallops were delicious and cooked perfect. We would ask for a booth or more private table not so near kitchen or other tables for two.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
