My husband and I noticed that it was more of an older adult place (we're a couple in our late 20s). We got seated ALL the way in the back of the restaurant and had a waiter who seemed to be nice, yet stuffy. We ordered our food and when it came to the table, we were surprised. My husband's plate looked sloppily put together and mine looked like just a piece of fish with an arugula salad. As we ate, I realized that my sweet pea risotto with poached egg were beneath my fish. My dish was tasteless and the poached egg was overdone (so much so that I was able to peel away the yolk). My husband's had a bit more flavor. For the price we paid, I was not expecting the quality of food that came out of their kitchen. We won't be coming back.

We went here for dinner before a performance at the Goodman and loved the relaxed feel of this place. I definitely would return to try more dishes. We started with Maryland Style Crab Cake which was absolutely delicious. The swordfish was amazing and the Crème Brulée Blanca was a fantastic finish. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."

Three of us were looking forward to our Catch 35 dinner and unfortunately all three of us were very unhappy with our meals. The special salmon was over cooked and dry. The swordfish was swimming in a spicy creamy sauce that totally destroyed the flavor of the fish itself. And our service was very inattentive.

Wanted to have a good dinner before visiting Chicago Theater for a show. The is did not disappoint. While our small table was near the entrance, which felt like we were eating at a bus terminal, the food made up for it. The appetizer, soup and entree made up for the inconvenience. The quality was above average and the waiter was quite gracious and polite. I highly recommend eating here for the quality of the food.

After years and years in Chicago - we finally gave Catch35 a try. Choosen because of proximity to the Goodman Theater (the Valet Parking was a nice bonus). The food was outstanding. However it was our waiter that made our evening an absolute delight. We will definitely return.

We ordered the Crab cake and scallops as appetizers, both were very good. For the main entree's we ordered the halibut and sea-bass, both were fantastic! The sea-bass had the perfect sear, could melt in your mouth. Low key, nice atmosphere. Mix of attire from business casual to very dressy, also mixed crowd of groups of younger adults as well as seniors. Would recommend Catch 35.

We chose Catch 35 for our one 'night out' meal on a recent business trip to Chicago, because we wanted good seafood. We were not disappointed - the special halibut with lobster was delicious; another colleague had ahi and commented how delicious it was. Service was excellent, and we had a wonderful wine from Cakebread. What's not to like?

This was our fourth or fifth visit, but it had been several years since our last visit. Altho the young man who was our server was very friendly and very professional, the young woman who seated us was sour and not at all welcoming. the food was only fair, the salad fresh and tasty, but the vegetables and sides were less than inspiring and over salted. Most importantly, our first course was brought us just moments after we order, not allowing time for our drink orders to be filled and certainly not allowing for a leisurely meal. The restaurant was not crowded so I saw no need for them to rush us thru our meal. I noticed that the other tables were rushed thru as well. Would not return.

The best part about the meal by far was the oysters, exceptionally fresh with a great brine. The food was prepared very well, nothing was over cooked. The server was so knowledgeable and personable that I felt like I had known him for many years and that he was giving a friend great food advice. Also the fact that if you are going to a show they take the valet price off the bill. All around amazing place for seafood in Chicago.

Not impressed. Service was so-so. Bread good. Slow to get wine and list was long but 99% California, not very diverse. Lobster bisque was just roasted red pepper soup with some bits of lobster. Halibut was well cooked but over powered by corn/tomato/onion salsa. The lobster with it were 3 small bites and some teeny pieces in the salsa. Dessert was the best part. Felt the seafood was not highlighted but hidden. Also too overpriced. Would not recommend it.

The service was exceptional and the food was well prepared and presented. Looking forward to our next visit! Regards, Malcolm V.

We came to Catch 35 after reading all the great reviews on Yelp...and found it to be a nice dinner for our last night in Chicago. Chilean sea bass was done perfectly and tasted great, served with a nice complement of greens and rice. The place was nearly full on the Monday night we ate there, obviously catered to locals and tourists alike. Service wasw a bit in-attentive for my taste, but otherwise would recommend as a good choice for a nice dinner and very good fish.
