This was our fourth or fifth visit, but it had been several years since our last visit. Altho the young man who was our server was very friendly and very professional, the young woman who seated us was sour and not at all welcoming. the food was only fair, the salad fresh and tasty, but the vegetables and sides were less than inspiring and over salted. Most importantly, our first course was brought us just moments after we order, not allowing time for our drink orders to be filled and certainly not allowing for a leisurely meal. The restaurant was not crowded so I saw no need for them to rush us thru our meal. I noticed that the other tables were rushed thru as well. Would not return.

The best part about the meal by far was the oysters, exceptionally fresh with a great brine. The food was prepared very well, nothing was over cooked. The server was so knowledgeable and personable that I felt like I had known him for many years and that he was giving a friend great food advice. Also the fact that if you are going to a show they take the valet price off the bill. All around amazing place for seafood in Chicago.

Great food. got the chilean sea bass (winner!); toffee cake + ice cream (bigger winner!). however, it was strange to be asked to vacate the table for another party, within a minute of finishing dessert. feel like that should have been avoided, since it seemed a tad rude.

Not impressed. Service was so-so. Bread good. Slow to get wine and list was long but 99% California, not very diverse. Lobster bisque was just roasted red pepper soup with some bits of lobster. Halibut was well cooked but over powered by corn/tomato/onion salsa. The lobster with it were 3 small bites and some teeny pieces in the salsa. Dessert was the best part. Felt the seafood was not highlighted but hidden. Also too overpriced. Would not recommend it.

Catch 35 was recommended to me by a good friend of mine and potential customer. Based on his recommendation I made a reservation for 7 including my wife. Everyone in the group expressed their satisfaction the every aspect of our evening. My wife was especially pleased so we'll be coming back probably tonight. The service was exceptional and the food was well prepared and presented. Looking forward to our next visit! Regards, Malcolm V.

We came to Catch 35 after reading all the great reviews on Yelp...and found it to be a nice dinner for our last night in Chicago. Chilean sea bass was done perfectly and tasted great, served with a nice complement of greens and rice. The place was nearly full on the Monday night we ate there, obviously catered to locals and tourists alike. Service wasw a bit in-attentive for my taste, but otherwise would recommend as a good choice for a nice dinner and very good fish.

We got there around 8:30 for dinner on a Saturday night and the place was definitely still hopping. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. He was able to establish a good connection right away which help with whole dining atmosphere. We ordered appetizers and they came in good time. Our main entrées were presented in good fashion. The food had good taste and really liked the overall ambience.

This was our second visit to Catch 35 (we live in Cincinnati). Much like the first visit, the ambience was excellent, the staff was friendly (if a bit overworked), and the food was outstanding. A wide variety of dishes and preparations were available and every one that the six of us ordered was done very nicely and had lots of the taste and texture that we hoped for. The restaurant is a bit noisy, but that is a minor complaint. I only wished I lived closer.

We came with a group of 10. The service was excellent and the food was generally very good. I tasted my husband's Chilean sea bass and it was delicious. The accompaniments with the halibut I ordered were quite good, but unfortunately, my halibut was a little overcooked. Apart from that, we were very happy and will likely try Catch 35 again.

Overall it's worth the cost. Great selection, excellent service, and strong cocktails.... My only hang up is with our last visit - we made a reservation weeks in advance for Labor Day weekend - We were required to leave a credit card to secure the reservation (really? Don't be snobby - you're not that great.) Then when time came to dine we were seated at, what I consider to be, the worst table in the restaurant. It was a five seat table in the middle of a thoroughfare that connects the bar and the kitchen to the rest of the dining room. This table shouldn't exist! Regardless, I immediately complained, and we were reseated properly. Our waiter was fantastic. A gentleman who carried himself with the presence and panache that you expect here.

I had dinner at Catch 35 while visiting from CA with my fiancée. We both had salads to start, which were delicious. I had the seabass and she had the salmon. Both were cooked perfectly and were delicious. The seabass seriously falls apart and is like butter. We shared the key lime pie, which topped off a perfect meal.

Brought an out-of-town guest who's a huge seafood fan, and he thought he'd died and gone to aquatic heaven. Between the dizzying wine list and the fabulous appetizer offerings (of which he considered making his whole meal), he decided on tempura soft shell crab and oysters Rockefeller -- I went with shrimp cocktail. From appetizers to entrees to dessert, we were delighted and impressed. The blueberry panna cotta was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal.

Service was spotty. We waited a long time for even water to be brought to the table. Rapheal was our server and was fine until he copped an attitude about something I ordered. I asked for the tempura asparagus. It did not come with the dinner. Your waiter does not deliver your food. It comes from folks running out of the kitchen. When he came by to check on us I mentioned we had not gotten the asparagus. He said he would get it for me quickly, but I was already into my meal as was my wife. I told him to forget it. We would go with what we had. He showed disgust because I would not take him up on his offer. That is is not customer friendly. He made a vegetable a personal thing. It should never go that far. Food was ok.

It goes without saying the food was great but the experience was unsurpassable. Sheila, our waitress, responded to our request for any guidance with "trust me and your meal would be great". She was more than correct. We ordered each course one at a time enjoying every mouthful. Never pushy but spot on after interpreting what we liked. A dining experience. Thanks again Sheila
