We came with a group of 10. The service was excellent and the food was generally very good. I tasted my husband's Chilean sea bass and it was delicious. The accompaniments with the halibut I ordered were quite good, but unfortunately, my halibut was a little overcooked. Apart from that, we were very happy and will likely try Catch 35 again.

Overall it's worth the cost. Great selection, excellent service, and strong cocktails.... My only hang up is with our last visit - we made a reservation weeks in advance for Labor Day weekend - We were required to leave a credit card to secure the reservation (really? Don't be snobby - you're not that great.) Then when time came to dine we were seated at, what I consider to be, the worst table in the restaurant. It was a five seat table in the middle of a thoroughfare that connects the bar and the kitchen to the rest of the dining room. This table shouldn't exist! Regardless, I immediately complained, and we were reseated properly. Our waiter was fantastic. A gentleman who carried himself with the presence and panache that you expect here.

We chose catch 35 because of their extensive menu and reviews with being knowledgeable about gluten free. They had a hug menu to choose from and two great desserts. They also had special gluten free bread that was delicious! I would highly recommend catch 35 to anyone but it was also one of the best for gluten free

Brought an out-of-town guest who's a huge seafood fan, and he thought he'd died and gone to aquatic heaven. Between the dizzying wine list and the fabulous appetizer offerings (of which he considered making his whole meal), he decided on tempura soft shell crab and oysters Rockefeller -- I went with shrimp cocktail. From appetizers to entrees to dessert, we were delighted and impressed. The blueberry panna cotta was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal.

We were in Chicago and had heard and read various opinions on Catch35 so were slightly apprehensive but ended up very pleasantly surprised. It was a nicer restaurant than expected, excellent service that took great efforts to accommodate food sensitivities and every dish we ordered was good to very good even if only 1 would qualify as outstanding.

Service was spotty. We waited a long time for even water to be brought to the table. Rapheal was our server and was fine until he copped an attitude about something I ordered. I asked for the tempura asparagus. It did not come with the dinner. Your waiter does not deliver your food. It comes from folks running out of the kitchen. When he came by to check on us I mentioned we had not gotten the asparagus. He said he would get it for me quickly, but I was already into my meal as was my wife. I told him to forget it. We would go with what we had. He showed disgust because I would not take him up on his offer. That is is not customer friendly. He made a vegetable a personal thing. It should never go that far. Food was ok.

This is one of our very favorite restaurants. The food is exceptional and the service unusually good. The restaurant is divided into 3 (I believe) levels, giving a sense of being in an intimate dining area. The bar is very far from the eating area, allowing for a pleasantly quiet dining experience. Five stars all the way!

It goes without saying the food was great but the experience was unsurpassable. Sheila, our waitress, responded to our request for any guidance with "trust me and your meal would be great". She was more than correct. We ordered each course one at a time enjoying every mouthful. Never pushy but spot on after interpreting what we liked. A dining experience. Thanks again Sheila

This was my first time patronizing Catch 35. The ambience was nice, but the décor was a bit seasoned. My out-of-town guest, who accompanied me, immediately stated that this restaurant must have been here for years! I really enjoyed the Prix Fixe menu which allowed me to choose a three course meal for a set price of 33.95. The lobster bisque was tasty, along with the salmon dinner and the lime pie. Although I would not rule out dining at Catch 35 again, it was not one of those culinary experiences that made me want to come back the very next day.

Extremely poor service starting with the two grumpy hostesses. Didn't get the booth we requested, slow service, no refills on drinks for 2 of our party, underwhelmed with food and my order was wrong. The only person that did a good job was the busboy who kept our water glasses filled. We wanted dessert but since the service was so slow we decided against it. The two tables next to us were complaining also, one didn't like their food and the other table was disappointed with the bad service.

If you want to impress a date, spouse, or business prospect - and they love seafood - this is a great choice. We had dinner early on a Saturday evening (arrived between 5 and 5:30) and my wife had an Alaskan sockeye salmon that she said was the best salmon she'd ever had. My filet mignon medallions were also cooked to the desired temperature and very tasty. The prix fixe option I used for the medallions was a good deal, too, since it included the entrée (and side items), soup or salad, & dessert. And the bass-saxophone-piano trio, which started performing at 6:00, made the evening even more special. The waitress was knowledgeable and helpful. The food was outstanding. I can't afford to eat here all the time, but for a special occasion-yes!
