Diner Reviews
  • "We went for happy hour and had a couple of appetizers. The house wine was okay; the service was a little slow. The menu was intriguing, so I will probably go back when I can stay for dinner."

  • "If you are meeting friends or colleagues for lunch the 3-course lunch is excellent and the pace of the service gives you plenty of time to visit."
    Dined on 7/17/2014
  • "Food was okay, nothing out of the ordinary -- which is too bad, since this neighborhood desperately needs some good additional lunch spots!"
    Dined on 7/15/2014
  • "I really like this place, the atmosphere is busy but no one seems hurried. Very accomodating service staff not to mention some of the best seafood you will find in DC for a reasonable price!"
    Dined on 7/10/2014
  • "Waiter was poorly trained , couldn't seem to get order correct, poor attention to guests"

  • "Enjoyed both their happy hour and their dinner menu. Great service and the food was outstanding. Try the stuffed oysters."

  • "I chose Catch 15 for its convenience, but I'll be back for the food. A huge cut above the pedestrian places along K Street - interesting food, well prepared and well priced."

  • "This place has a great Happy Hour! If you're not hungry but just wanna grab a small bite to eat then you will be fine. I know this is a tapas place but some of the things we had weren't that fulfilling. Also, do not order the cocktails during Happy Hour. It was basically just fruit juice. I didn't taste any alcohol. Stick with wine or beer during Happy Hour. The ceviche was very overpowering with the taste of onion and hardly had any seafood in the mix. The service was great. The hostess was extremely friendly. The owner was very involved with everything, including removing dirty plates from our table. Our server was great. If I was in DC again I would pass on this place as there are so many more choices."

  • "They need to find a new sea food supplier at the very least. The oyster sampler had no variety - despite the highly varied regions they supposedly came from, they were all very large, flavorless, not very good. That needs to improve significantly if the place is going to bill itself as an oyster bar. The lobster tail in the risotto was extremely tough to the point of not being edible. The service was fine, but awkward. With so many other good options in dc, I likely won't be going back."

  • "My first time dining here and will definitely be back. The atmosphere was great and the chairs are SO comfortable! Diverse menu and the vegetable empanadas are highly recommended!"

  • "Had lunch here with a colleague. Great service, great food, outstanding menu and gracious host. Totally recommend this place and I will come back."

  • "We celebrated my wife's recent accomplishment of receiving her MBA from Penn State University. She really enjoyed it!! If she likes it, I love it!! Oysters were on point, wine on point, food on point!! We plan to go back soon!"

  • "Very attentive service, but at the same time, they were able to read if you wanted to be left alone."
    Dined on 6/18/2014
  • "All 5 of us enjoyed our dinner and our selections yet we couldn't figure out how to categorize the restaurant. There were Spanish, middle-eastern, seafood, and a few other items on the menu. It was a great experience. Thanks!"
    Dined on 6/18/2014
  • "Catch 15 has good food - except for the baklava which is rolled rather than flat layers and not as sweet as it should be. We had the seared tuna and a salad which were both very good, as was the ricotta cheesecake. The restaurant would not take our Living Social voucher unless the bill was more than the voucher value and was very slow about showing up with the ordered extra (to go) which was a dessert that did not need preparation meaning that we were almost late for the theater performance afterwards for which we had tickets."
    Dined on 6/17/2014
  • "Had a lot of options for the lunch menu. It was divided into raw bar, small plates, and entrees. This allowed there to be a great selection without being overwhelming."

  • "I work not far from here and as they were building and said I have to check this out. This place did not let me down. Very beautiful in the inside, my kids said it was fancy. The food was d-elicious!!"

  • "The food was the best part of the experience. A little Spanish and Greek. But our table of four had trouble chatting over the loud tango music. We had a speaker directly over our table. I asked twice to turn it down just a bit. The second time got the attention of the manager who came to our table, interrupted our conversation to TELL me that it was Tango Night and they HAD to keep the music as it was. The dancers were at the far back end of this long restaurant and therefore not a great accompaniment to the tunes at our location. I was struck how he didn't get that we were part of his revenue and the dancers were an expense. Won't likely go back."

  • "Atmosphere: Casablanca on K Street. Lamb tagine, tuna tartar, seared scallop small plates all excellent. Server didn't seem to know oyster basics ... disappointing for an oyster bar."
    Dined on 5/28/2014
  • "The Grilled Marinated Octopus with polenta, recommended by the manager was AMAZING. The Seafood Salpicon al Spagnolla ceviche we ordered was okay. Neither super delicious nor bad. The Oysters Imperiale was good, but very rich. The manager was really helpful with his recommendations. If I were to come back, I'd just order two of the grilled octopus, it was that good!"

  • "Very great. Especially if you like oysters. Went during Memorial Day weekend Saturday and it was not very full so we received excellent service. Our group of 6 (including some foodies) was the loudest and overall gave it an overall very great review. Will definitely try again."

  • "Food was disappointing. Definitely wasn't worthy of the $90 bill. Appetizer was okay but the dinner food was rather bland. Hubby had Filet of Sole and I had the stuffed chicken breast. Both needed something. We had to leave there and go somewhere else for dessert. Ambiance was fun and captured the dc feel that we were looking for. "

  • "Two words: Veggie empanadas I realize this is a seafood place, but I am telling you, get the veggie empanadas. The atmosphere is great for a business lunch by day and a date by night. The space is a bit tight with larger than necessary furniture. I had to move my chair into the aisle on more than one occasion to get up. Still, it was a great dinner with quick service. "

  • "Went there for lunch because I had heard that the owners were the same group that had Tuscan West. Restaurant is very trendy with a good bar and various size tables. The food was excellent. I had a beet and tomato gazpacho that was very good and beef rib ravioli that had a great taste and wonderful sauce. "

  • "Although the 3 courses for $20 lunch special sounds like a good deal, I was greatly disappointed. Both my date and I agreed that we could have made better dishes at home. The pasta sauce tasted like it came out of a can of (bad) marinara, and I've never had such soggy tiramisu. The bread at the beginning of the meal and our caesar salads were the best part of the whole experience. Disinterested and casual waiters added to the poor experience, as did the dark brown decor that made you feel like you were undergroun and it was midnight, even though we were dining in the middle of the day. There are hundreds of other restaurants in DC i would choose to go back to spend my money on."
    Dined on 5/19/2014
  • "I ate at the bar and I enjoyed the ambience there. Almost as good as the old Tuscana West. I had the salmon burger - delicious!"
    Dined on 5/19/2014
  • "A group of 5 went for an early lunch and we wanted to try something new. The restaurant had a great feel and and set up. The food was tasty but for certain dishes too salty for my liking and the service was a little slow. It has a lot of promise and I would be open to try it out for a different meal."

  • "Our pre-theatre dinner was fine. We ordered a lot of small plates to share. Everything was tasty and nicely presented, but nothing was a real stand-out. The bar is nice, so I would think it gets a nice crowd in the later evening. Try it if you are in the area and want a nice spot to relax and have some small bites. The only real issue was with the chars at the tables; they are very deep and so you cannot relax into them and still reach your food on the table. Pillows would be helpful, especially for smaller folks who do not fill up these very large chairs."

  • "Delicious meals. Plates were not large which was great! Service was wonderful and prompt/friendly. Sangria yummy!!!"

  • "This was my first time dining here. The service was a tad slow, but the food was outstanding. I ordered a variety of oysters, as well as a grilled octopus, and everything was absolutely delicious. Several of the reviews I read prior to dining here raved about the bread with dipping sauce, so I wanted to make sure I tried it. I saw other tables with bread, but we had none. When it still had not arrived after my first course, I asked about it. The waiter apologized and brought some immediately. The bread/dipping sauces were very, very good. I'm already planning my next visit."

  • "Offers many dishes from around the world, very flavorful. They have many small plates to share that are pretty good. The bar is a great place to be offering full menu and great happy hour specials. Dinner is nice, with nice booths but can get crowded since its a small restaurant. "

  • "I've been to Catch 15 twice in one week. The food is pretty phenomenal. The service is well above par....at least from the Maitre 'd. The outdoor bar and seating outside is a nice touch."
    Dined on 5/9/2014
  • "This is a cute restaurant with an interesting menu. The food was okay, but the service was totally off. Our party of four had 2 appetizers arrive; we had to specifically ask about the other two when they had not shown up in 5 more minutes. We ordered after dinner drinks; it took about 10 minutes for them to arrive. By then we really didn't even want them anymore. It was a weeknight and they were not busy at all; hard to understand the long service delays and poor timing. I don't think the place is new. "

  • "Catch 15 is a great new addition to downtown. It has wonderful booth seating as well as small tables. Oyster bar is open to outside. What could be better than happy hour oysters and enjoying beautiful spring in DC. My new favorite place for lunch and happy hour."

  • "This restaurant was really great! The food was great and so were the drinks. The oysters were amazing! Would definitely go again."

  • "We ate at Catch 15 our first night in DC. Our waiter, Miguel, was fabulous - attentive but not overbearing. The lamb and oysters were delicious. Very nice atmosphere. Will definitely visit again when in DC."

  • "Not an environment condusive to a business lunch when the music is set for the 6pm happy hour crowd. Made the request to the manager to tone it down, which was immediately granted. Food and service were excellent. "

  • "This restaurant was fantastic. I'm a vegetarian and tried 3 small plates and my boyfriend got the tuna. We were both extremely satisified. The bread came out with two interesting toppings (olives and eggplant) that I loved. They also had an interesting beer selection. My only complaint was the table they sat us at. There were four guys and one girl and they sat us at a weird booth where three guys ended up sitting on a bench/booth seat together and the other two ended up sitting on opposite ends of the table. It was a rather intimate setting for guys in their twenties. Even with that we still had a great experience."

  • "We went here at the recommendation of a local on a recent visit to Washington. The place was alive and the service was great. They were very accommodating and did not rush us. The menu had plenty of choices but we went with the Pre Fixe option which was outstanding. "
