Castle Hill Innone of the best on the islandSince the Relais et Chateaux takeover, this has become one of the best tables in town. Marrying an already exquisite setting with food worthy of what have always been prices near the top of the local market, thus is my favorite. Far from the madding crowd downtown, one can almost always get a table in the evening. It was perfect for our Mother's Day celebration, with great food, a marvelous view of the bay with ocean liners and small vessels cruising out to sea, and the serenity of the water added to the ambience. Although a buffet is not usually my preference, this one was handled beautifully, beginning with the selection of 3 appetizers brought to the table and the menu listing the buffet table's options, to the truffle at the end of the meal.
The view was spectacular, an important enhancement to the delicious food.
We felt comfortable and relaxed on a day that is typically crazy busy in the restaurant world, partly thanks to our waiter who didn't seem harried or hurried.

My wife had the Hake which was average at best.
I asked for the beef (to be cooked medium)which was tasty but very, very dry.

We were 45 minutes early for our reservations and to our surprise were accommodated within minutes of our arrival with a a table with a great view. The food on the luncheon menu was reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. I had a lobster sandwich and it was by far the best I have ever had. The only negative was our waitress. She was slow and disorganized. I am assuming she may have been new. However, the rest of the staff took note of this and helped us with whatever they could take care of. A lovely day was had by all and I am sure will be a beautiful memory for my daughter. I think the portions were cumulatively a little bit too large and the lack of a true sommelier made the difference. That being said, anytime you are being compared to LB, you are in an elite class. The food was excellent and all the servers were wonderful especially River.We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and went there on the advise of friends. We had a long leisurely Brunch and really enjoyed the Lobster Hash which River recommended.We were not dissapointed. Was caught off guard a bit by fix price being the only option but worth is for a special occasion. Wine list for the non-elite was a bit limited. Found a "special" for chardoney at $40, next was $62 an then rapidly moved to $100+. Our server, Jarod, was excellent. Normal menu offers a 3-course and 5-course pre-fixe selections for $75/$95 with wine pairings at additional cost. We selected from the Newport Restaurant Week menu and for $30 the menu was a good value! Great view of the bay / bridge. The servers were courteous and knowledgeable about the items they served us. We were not disappointed. Although it was a rainy evening, the setting is still spectacular, overlooking Narragansett Bay. There are a number of dining rooms to choose from and each offers its own interesting setting to enjoy. Our server has been with the restaurant for a number of years and he was excellent. The food was very uniquely prepared and also excellent. We enjoyed our meals & our server was great. Our waiter had an accident with the wine bottle slipping & breaking some glasses-we were fine, the table needed to be made over,so we waited in another room. We were fine with it-accidents happen, but I was a little surprised when we received our bill that I was charged for the wine. I thought it would have been a nice gesture to not charge us for the glass of wine,but I didn't say anything. They were very apologetic & the rest of the evening was great. They had a fabulous layout, with a variety of dishes to serve all tastes, and definitively a step above your standard fare easter buffet. My favorites included the finely roasted ham, a lobster/sole dish, and interestingly, a zucchini bread pudding topped with a poached egg and beef sauce.
