Castano's Italian SteakhouseGreat new findWe took a chance on other reviews and booked a table for our last night in town. One of us got salmon and the other steak. Great food. We got a booth which is cozy and semi private but could see the water from our table. In the right weather the patio dining would be great. Probably best for couples, adult groups and business groups. If you want cheap burgers and fries dont go here. Its not cheap but offers a classy/casual atmosphere and was worth it. Great Sinatra music piped in with live guitar in bar area. Our only issue was the speaker at our table was going in and out which was distracting but they got it fixed promptly. Since I had never been to Myrtle Beach I had to rely on the reviews on opentable and they did not disappoint. The ambience and decor is modern and clean. The food was awesome, we all had steaks that melted away. We decided to go there for our 45th Anniversary this year and were not disappointed. My wife had the crab stuffed flounder and I had the veal, both were excellent. The even gave us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. Service was outstanding. While making my Open Table reservation online I made mention that we were celebrating my wife's birthday. She was greeted with a "Happy Birthday" comment by the hostess when we checked in, by the waiter when he first got to our table and by a Manager during the course of our meal. She also received, without our requesting it, a complimentary dessert. My wife had the filet mignon and I had the prime rib special. Both were delicious. The crab cakes were to die for, as well as the pork chop. The Italian dishes were very good as well. The food was exceptional (on par with five star restaurants I've visited on my travels), and the ambiance was exceptional. The owner, Curtis, personally greeted us and mingled with other patrons with a friendly and welcoming smile and personality. We enjoyed the experience enough that we're considering an annual anniversary tradition.
