We took our time with drink and then the main course. After dinner we took a short walk around the waterfront and then returned to their bakery for dessert and coffee. Although there is plenty of outdoor seating, we asked to be seated indoors due to the chilly temps in St. Petersburg that weekend. I ordered their “three eggs” breakfast (but requested and was served egg whites), with bacon, and when I realized there’s a French bakery on the premises (or next door?), a chocolate croissant, with delicious dark coffee. The croissant was fresh and flaky; it would’ve been incredible if it had been slightly warmed. The only disappointment had nothing to do with the restaurant but rather the Florida policy that no alcohol can be served before 11 am on Sundays, so we had to wait- patiently- for our mimosas. We ate early, so we were able to take advantage of the happy hour drinks, which saved a lot of money. The atmosphere at Cassis is very much French brasserie. We had excellent service. The waiter gave us some great tips and also suggested ways to save on the bill. The food is very good, although nothing spectacular. We love the outdoor dining and the view of the bay is beautiful. They make a mean hamburger and the fries are delicious. I love the soups and the salads. Both were well prepared and presented with sides that were good compliments. Ahi tuna app and the spinach salad were very good. The pace of the meal was just right. Plenty of time to have a leisurely dinner. The server seemed new and unsure of the dishes. He seemed nervous but it didn't detract from the meal not did he service enhance it

About 5 block walk from Vinoy. Broad offerings including steak frites(guite good) and lots of seafood dishes (seabass was excellent). We had a mild night in January and add outside European style.
