I had the duck confit and it was excellent and a pretty large portion compared to some of the other dishes. The beer is excellent as well and their brewer seems to have dialed in some recipes since my last visit. The restaurant makes everything on the premises, even the beer. He tried several full-bodied brews and ordered grilled quail for an entrée: moist, delicate, divine! For starters, I ordered the oyster gumbo and house white wine. Only 3 small oysters in the bowl but the spicy, rich, southern flavor held my interest. Would order it again! My entrée was the Frisee salad with lots of textures and colors - delicious! Cuisine is southern with a creative, adventurous twist. This restaurant is another winner! Love the architectural design and features within. Sat at a high-top overlooking the goings-on. Service was slow at first and then attentive. Will go back often. My guests and I enjoyed the first Saturday Brunch and we were not disappointed. The Eggs Benedict was fantastic. Highly recommend the Beef Brisket with egg and the bourbon-cured trout (if available).

I tried the pork chop at the Ravenous Pig and it was the best I have ever eaten. Service was wonderful and the restaurant is beautiful. At first I was skeptical from looking at the menu, but after the very receptive waiter explained everything it turned out amazing. Everything on the menu is unique from the drinks to the dinner. The best part is most of the items in the dishes are locally grown or produced giving everything that very natural flavor. My girlfriend chose the lamb heart for dinner and was a little uneasy about her choice initially, but it turned out to be amazingly flavored and tender. The family style serving also works to your benefit when eating with a larger group because all of the options look so delicious. For dessert I chose fried dough, which I think they should rename because it is not at all greasy and is served with a heavenly creme fraiche ice cream on top of a buttery caramel pudding to spoon over the dough. We were seated promptly and our service person, Melissa, was attentive and knowledgable. Between my husband and myself, we enjoyed the heirloom salad, the wheatberry salad, the roasted monkfish (never had it before either) and the roasted pork shoulder (not had this before either). We finished off our evening with the carrot cake and the chocolate bombe... Everything was delicious!!!
