Diner Reviews
  • "If you like to try different things this a great place to go. Very eclectic menu, good beers and good service. Everything is farm to table which is a nice touch. Food was well prepared."

  • "This place is absolutely one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. Went with family and we had a great experience. The service was spectacular and Diane was one of the best servers we have had in our long-time dining experiences. Cask and Larder should be on everyone's must try list. Because once you try it, you'll be back and back and back."

  • "You have to make a reservation for weekends since sometimes they get to the point of no walk ins only reservations. The rest. is beautiful decorated and the staff very friendly and helpful. Complimentary valet parking is a nice gesture. Love the food and desserts are a most. :-)) Lot better than Park Plaza Garden."

  • "As a southern girl, I felt somewhat at home. The food was good. We started with the ham and biscuits I really enjoyed this. Next, we had the main meal. My husband had the burger- we were not a fan of it at all. I had oysters and we shared the snap pea's and friend corn. I would have to say that the fried corn and pea's were my favorites. For dessert we had the fried dough. It was great!"

  • "This was our first time here and we love it! We had no idea we were going to have Sunday brunch but we just happened to notice this place and we are so glad we tried it! Everyone was really nice and our server was very pleasant but most of all, the food is just absolutely great! We had the corn bread, soft shell crab, french toast, and eggs with sausage. We want to come back for dinner!"

  • "The food is different than you find on the normal restaurant menu. It is very good and changes often, based on my seeing very different menus on my two trips there. I enjoyed the meal very much as did my five companions."

  • "I have heard a lot about Cask & Larder, and I have had a few of their beers at pubs around town, but I was disappointed after I finally ate there. The food looked great and sounded good on paper, but most of it was far too acidic and ended on a sour note. It was a pleasant enough experience, but for the money, I would not go back"

  • "As long as this version of the Southern Benedict is on the menu, I may go back every Sunday to get it. Brings back memories of growing up in southern Tennessee and family gatherings at my grandparents on Sundays after church."

  • "Very creative chef/owner. Food is both interesting and very well prepared. I like the beer choices. Will return, for sure."

  • "We made a reservation for 9 PM. When we arrived the place was still very busy. Our table was not ready however there was plenty of room at the bar. The staff was very cordial and kept us updated frequently. Once we were seated, we were provided with two free appetizers. The experience was excellent and the food was top notch. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be back for more."

  • "Every time we go to Cask and Larder, I am impressed with the creativity and skill of the chef and the friendly attentiveness of the wait staff. The food is consistently delicious - on our recent visit, we especially enjoyed the kale salad, the beef brisket sliders, and the mahi mahi. The cherry cobbler was also delightful for dessert. We recommend Cask and Larder enthusiastically and unconditionally."

  • "Server was very pleasant. Dessert took 15 minutes to be served. Gratuity added for a party of 6. I would have tipped more, but can't stand having grat added for a party of that size. 8 or more makes sense - particularly with people who don't know how to tip. Food was not anything to write home about. I won't be back."

  • "Not sure if they have new management, new cook, or new menu....but much better the second time around. I have not been back in about a year because I was so discussed the first time; but WOW... I like this place now. The chicken was great..the beer was great...looking forward to coming back again."

  • "Started out with the shrimp toast with feta & melon (yum!), crispy oyster bibb lettuce wraps; trout w/ corn puree, couscous was good, great hot spicy chicken w/ delish mac & white cheese 'n' collard greens; kale salad was tasty with thin slices of peach & beet, granola, and avocado."

  • "Hard to call the cooking "down home" unless Martha Stewart is your mother. The creativity of the chef in combining obscure (yet available) ingredients to achieve delightful, robustly flavored variations of simple foods is unlike any place I've experienced, even the "sister" Ravenous Pig. The food is wonderfully rich without cloying, so it is possible to order carefully and leave very satisfied without breaking the budget. But if splurging on a once a month treat, both calorically and financially, is your intention, you won't find a better place to do it anywhere!"

  • "The food was good - we went for brunch so understandably limited menu - they were out of chicken - kind of surprised by that. I would go back and try dinner."

  • "Wife & I enjoyed another fine dinner at Cask & Larder. Between the great food, fantastic drink, and overall atmosphere that provides the right kind of energy, it's a place we love to go back to."

  • " Our server, Jonathan, was very helpful. We started with the Kale Salad. It was fantastic! We shared our entrees. I had the Nashville Hot Chicken and hubby had the Smoked Duck. Both were amazing! I'm not much on spicy food, but the Nashville Hot Chicken had just enough bite, not too much. The cornbread and pickle relish helped to cool the chicken down a bit. The mac and cheese was out of this world. The Duck was smoked perfectly. It was tender, had the smokey flavor and had a bit of bbq sauce. We tried 2 deserts, The key lime ice cream sandwich and the cherry cobbler. Hands down, the key lime ice cream sandwich was amazing! The gin and tonic is super good. We tried a couple of beers also that were great."

  • "Had some things I really liked and other things were very average. The specialty cocktails were lacking. I had the vodka lemonade. The shrimp flatbread was awesome. The marinated chicken was very dry as it looked like it was dropped in a fryer. The catfish sandwich was good. Overall service was very friendly but not very attentive. Very crowded restaurant."

  • "This was our first visit, so this is a one-experience review. The food selections were very unusual, but choice is a bit limited. That said, the items we selected were outstanding - for the most part locally grown ingredients, prepared with imagination, and very flavorful. Not your typical fare, to say the least. Service was excellent - personable, attentive, well trained. The atmosphere and seating is quite casual for a higher-end restaurant, and the noise level is noticeable when the restaurant and bar is full. The concept seems targeted to a younger, but well-heeled patronage. Ingress, egress and parking is less than ideal, although valet parking is available. Very popular establishment."

  • "My previous experience (wild boar) was much better. My Mahi main course was pedestrian and rather small. The rice was ho-hum, the fish over-cooked. The burnt chicken dish was still terrific, the kale salad good. The brisket sliders appetizer was merely ok. The pimento cheese dip was excellent but it accompanying crab (?) dip was uninspired. All in all the the food was not really up to par or worth the money. And the service, unlike previously, was slow and not especially good. Not rude, just not not on the ball. Really, dinner was not worth the $150 for three people that we spent. Seasons 52 next time."

  • "Always delicious! It's nice to see the menu change and always have new options. We have never had a meal there we haven't loved. Great place!"

  • "Enjoyed the kale salad and the crispy oysters! The chicken entree was a bit spicy and the frog legs had a little too much cumin. Love the atmosphere and our waiter was superb!"

  • "Wow...Cask and Larder blew me away! Really innovative menu, impeccable service by a knowledgeable waiter, casual yet upscale atmosphere and memorable food. Great kale salad, with delicious beets and crunchy granola on top....yum! The mahi was perfectly charbroiled, served with a superbly delicate shrimp sauce and just right fresh veggies on top...truly a standout dish. Can't wait to go back and try something else!"

  • "Having been a fan of the ravenous pig for years I wasn't surprised to find that I loved cask and larder as well. The menu was great and the restaraunt was lovely on the inside. I actually prefer the look of cask- it has a homey/southern feel. I always recommend the ravenous pig to anyone who will listen and I plan to do the same for cask and larder. Well done!"

  • "Nashville Hot chicken was delicious!!! Well worth the mess too :-) Great place with scratch food. Usually you can't miss here but our other entree (trout) was room temp at best and not very tasty. I will say the server was kind enough to remove it from our bill, and we gladly tipped him based on what the full check would have been. So we will definitely go back. You can't miss with the deviled eggs!"

  • "Having enjoyed the experience of the Ravenous Pig several times expectations were high for C&L. It didn't disappoint especially the smaller plates that allowed out party of three, none of which are big eaters, to sample a variety I dishes. The deviled eggs and crispy oysters were standouts. Service was prompt and the server helpful. Will return"

  • "Our brunch was great however they evidently decided to change the menu at the last minute day of so no pimento cheese and no chicken and waffles for my out of town guests :( that was a big, big disappointment. Everything else was great however and cannot complain about our experience otherwise. Cuban scones were great!"

  • "Our server was very knowledgeable about the dishes and very helpful with a friend of mine who had a lot of questions. The food was great and cooled perfectly. Their house mixes drinks were amazing! It was a little expensive but we knew that going there. Certainly if I could eat out for that price more often, I would definitely go there. "

  • "We had an excellent experience at the Cask and Larder. Server who was very knowledgeable about the menu and the food, made great suggestions and was very willing to talk to us about the food, ingredients and preparation. Slower night so we might not have experienced a more typical atmosphere. Excellent and interesting food and drinks! The best place we ate while visiting Orlando. "

  • "We had dinner for 8 in the brewing room, and had excellent service and food. We tried several different appetizers and entrees. The entrees can tend to be a it small but with the SIDS and appetizers there was plenty to eat. The desserts were also excellent. "

  • "Cask and Larder only uses fresh, local ingredients, and the food is absolutely delicious, but you should know going in that the portions are very small for the prices that they charge (with the exception of the crab toast- which has 3 good sized pieces to share). Alcohol prices are reasonable (they brew their own beer and have a great mixed drink menu). "

  • "The dinner menu had a good amount of seafare. Quality is consistent and flavors are out of this world! Would have liked to see a slight bit more variety as far as meats. "
