Cask and LarderCool VibeExcellent microbrews and unique menu where they're not afraid to experiment with unique ideas. Some work, while others don't!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMNot your everyday foodFood was excellent and the service was great. The cost for three meals was very reasonable for a business dinner. I would have paid 250.00 in Indianapolis for the same quality.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunch food, great beerGreat food and great beer, but I'm a little disappointed with how many parents bring their small children here. (NO fault of the restaurant) I've eaten here several times at different times of the day and have had to hear more than one small child banging spoons on the table and plates. Will probably sit at the bar next time.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBest potatoes everWith all the yummy looking items on the menu it was difficult to chose just one. The eggs Benedict was a very very good choice ordered a side of rosemary potatoes for the table to share omg the best potatoes ever. Need to return to try other menu items great brunch.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOur reservation was for 1800Our reservation was for 1800 hrs and we were seated within minutes of our arrival. Jessica was our server and also showed us to our table. She appeared to be very knowledgeable regarding the menu items and was very attentive to our table as well as the others she was taking care of. My husband ordered the snapper and it was very tasty. I ordered the trout and that was quite tasty as well. Before the entrees came out, I enjoyed the frisee salad and will more than likely have that again on another visit. We both enjoyed dessert of peach melba and moon pie.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSouthern SlowChefs MIke & Julie Petrakis have transformed the old Harpers into a lively hub of imaginative Southern-inspired cooking. Their creative use of ingredients such as kale or cornbread and their emphasis on local and sustainable sourcing combine to create something unique in Winter Park. Inspired combinations of flavor and texture, delivered with real skill and technique.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWent on a Saturday expectingWent on a Saturday expecting a regular lunch menu but they were using their Sunday Brunch menu for lunch. I had been before for the Sunday Brunch and it did not appeal to me and while they have changed the brunch considerably, it sell did not appeal to me....guess I'll have to do for dinner in order to sample their regular menu.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMInventive and DeliciousThe food and service are excellent. For the price, I like a quieter and more comfortable dining room. The comfort level of the chairs say, "stay long enough to eat and then move on." Not a huge wine list, but very well chosen.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMModern southern cuisine in OrlandoWe were very pleased to get away from the more tourist areas to try Cask and Larder. Nice wine and beer list, well curated menu which really is a great example of modern / elevated Southern cuisine. The restaurant is easy to find off I-4 towards Rollins College and the menu is very well balanced. We had the country ham crostini, which is more akin to a prosciutto and frisee salad on toast points which is a refreshing starter. For our main courses we had the trout and the fried okra and cheesy grits were a great complement, we also had the pork belly which was crispy and tender, we appreciate the deft hand at executing the dish, which was very well balanced. Save room for the humming bird cake and peach melba.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food!Nice pub, good design - very comfortable and cool looking. I had the Charred Canaveral Shrimp, couldn't even tell you what my husband had as I was way too busy enjoying mine! It was amazing! Oysters to start which were tasty. And then the Moon Pie, did NOT need it as I was pretty full, but it looked too good to pass up. It was delicious and could definitely have served two. Meal sizes were appropriate, not too big but not too small. Service was very friendly and personable, nice noise level. If we lived in Orlando we would be there at least once a week......5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great beerWe had Mother's Day brunch with my wife and in-laws. The food was excellent and everyone loved what they ordered. I had the duck confit and it was excellent and a pretty large portion compared to some of the other dishes. The beer is excellent as well and their brewer seems to have dialed in some recipes since my last visit. If you are near Winter Park, are a goodie, or are a craft beer geek I highly recommend dropping by this restaurant.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlmost no vegetarian offeringsPortions extremely small for price. Chicken dish mostly skin with three bites of chicken for $15 and two soft boiled eggs on brioches was $14. Everything has some sort of pork or ham in it except for pastries which are the best part of meal. We were there for brunch.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was our first visit andIt was our first visit and my husband's birthday. We loved the evening. The restaurant makes everything on the premises, even the beer. He tried several full-bodied brews and ordered grilled quail for an entrée: moist, delicate, divine! For starters, I ordered the oyster gumbo and house white wine. Only 3 small oysters in the bowl but the spicy, rich, southern flavor held my interest. Would order it again! My entrée was the Frisee salad with lots of textures and colors - delicious! Cuisine is southern with a creative, adventurous twist. This restaurant is another winner! Love the architectural design and features within. Sat at a high-top overlooking the goings-on. Service was slow at first and then attentive. Will go back often. Enjoy!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AM5 Star Service and FoodAs always, Cask & Larder provided an awesome experience in service and cuisine. My guests and I enjoyed the first Saturday Brunch and we were not disappointed. The Eggs Benedict was fantastic. Highly recommend the Beef Brisket with egg and the bourbon-cured trout (if available).
Thanks5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you haven't been, you need to goC&L is an amazing culinary treasure of central Florida. To say that it has everything you could want in fine dining and service is an understatement. They even have a Saturday brunch...go, go now!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFood wasn't as good as "the pig"I had the bone-in pork chop which had to much fat running through the piece of meat. I tried the pork chop at the Ravenous Pig and it was the best I have ever eaten. Service was wonderful and the restaurant is beautiful. I will return but not for the pork chop.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed it - Booked again! We enjoyed our first meal at Cask and Larder so much that we booked reservations for a return visit before we left. It wasn't perfect by any means, but it was very good and very unique, and we look forward to whatever is on the menu when we return since it changes so often.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGourmands unite!Cask and Larder is an experience! We tried three of the appetizers - from the regionally sourced ham to the butter bean bruschetta - we could not get enough.
Great presentation - great ambience - a winning combination and another Winter Park gem...5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMhad great dinner with friends.had great dinner with friends. food was outstanding and service good. A good menu with very good dishes featuring ingredients from local farms. Interesting menu of cocktails as well - although expensive they are worth a try. Will definitely return.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place was amazing. AtThis place was amazing. At first I was skeptical from looking at the menu, but after the very receptive waiter explained everything it turned out amazing. Everything on the menu is unique from the drinks to the dinner. The best part is most of the items in the dishes are locally grown or produced giving everything that very natural flavor. My girlfriend chose the lamb heart for dinner and was a little uneasy about her choice initially, but it turned out to be amazingly flavored and tender. The family style serving also works to your benefit when eating with a larger group because all of the options look so delicious. This way many sides can be chosen and shared amongst the table.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen to RP their sister restaurantBeen to RP their sister restaurant on a few occasions. We knew C&L would be good, but it more then met our expectations. Great service from our waiter Adam, knowledgeable, and very helpful in making our dinner choices. Overall, a very nice and unique restaurant.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI can't imagine how it couldI can't imagine how it could have been better. Service was friendly but not overbearing. The server was very knowledgeable and was gracious answering our many questions. Every dish was wonderful. I never could have dreamed up Vanilla Pork Belly on a buckwheat pancake with coffee cream and cocoa nibs but I am very happy they did. It was a very Happy Birthday Brunch indeed.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMCaution: You Will Get Addicted!Since my Easter brunch experience 48 hours ago, I have already recommended Cask & Larder to over 12 people. Great personality and excellent knowledge of the menu items. We shared a few small plates and enjoyed every bite. Food was excellent. The country ham, short rib tamale and oysters are must haves. The condiments and spreads that came with each small plate were equally delicious and complimented the food well. We also shared the charred squid and fried chicken which we both enjoyed. Can't wait to go back so we can try some of the other menu items.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was interesting and good.Food was interesting and good. I chose fried chicken-best I've ever eaten. Sides were intriguing-we opted for a salad with buttermilk dressing and roasted potatoes-both were sized to share with 1 or 2 others-and were excellent. Service was also attentive. For dessert I chose fried dough, which I think they should rename because it is not at all greasy and is served with a heavenly creme fraiche ice cream on top of a buttery caramel pudding to spoon over the dough. We also really appreciated the casual ambiance. We will definitely go back.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is awesome like alwaysFood is awesome like always and we are never disappointed with any visit we have made to this fine Resturant. We were seated promptly and our service person, Melissa, was attentive and knowledgable. Between my husband and myself, we enjoyed the heirloom salad, the wheatberry salad, the roasted monkfish (never had it before either) and the roasted pork shoulder (not had this before either). We finished off our evening with the carrot cake and the chocolate bombe... Everything was delicious!!! One small unfortunate thing, is that there were two men that came and were seated about 2 tables from us and one man was apparently a little tipsy as he was extremely loud and talking constantly.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat service staff answeredgreat service staff answered menu questions with confidence3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDouble triple Wow experienceWow best Moscow Mule I ever had
