Cashion's Eat PlaceGood food, excellent serviceAt 7 pm on a Sat night, I expected mayhem. But we were able to get a table for 4 outside, the waiter was very patient as our 4th was an hour late, and we ordered drinks and appetizers that kept us going until the final guest arrived. We ordered grilled asparagus and the lamb meatballs. Both outstanding.
Service was attentive but not intrusive. I ordered the Bronzino and it was cooked perfectly. The late guest ordered the goat which was also fantastic.
All in all, a delightful experience.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat RestaurantWe really enjoyed our food here. Everything had really great flavor and spice. The food tasted fresh and cooked with care.
Would strongly recommend it to people!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server was exceptional. Our server was exceptional. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed a delicious organic chicken dish which was very carefully prepared and presented. What's more, I was able to enjoy a glass of my favorite Greek white wine which made the experience even more pleasurable. Definitely worth a return trip. If you are in Washington, D.C. and want to enjoy a fine meal at a reasonable price with excellent service, do check out this restaurant! You won't be disappointed.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMPandaIt was a lovely day and we ate outside, which was fun. The waitstaff is very friendly. The special cocktails were very good and the food was delicious. I had the huckleberry waffles-totally yum. My husband had the poached eggs in puff pastry-very rich and also delicious. And then, because we were in carb shock, we added the homemade donuts, which were the absolute best. We will go back and explore the dinner menu.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfectTerrific menu. Whether you want little bites to share, lovely appetizers, delicious salads (flavorsome goose egg) or soups (sting nettle ) -- the beginnings are excellent. The varied and wonderful mains (goat, dorade, meat, or the off-menu veggie plate) continue to delight. Desserts, especially the sorbets and ice creas, are very special. The cookie plate is average, but the other options are terrific.
Terrific waitstaff -- especially Susan
For comfort and wine -- Justin can't be beat
It's easy to understand why Cashion's has been around and successful for years.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch spotThe restaurant was not crowded and my friend and I had a very pleasant and tasty brunch. The staff was pleasant and let us talk without hurrying us out. The menu was a bit limited, however.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMwe had brunch on the Saturdaywe had brunch on the Saturday for the Memorial Day w/e. We were probably the second group of people to arrive, as we got there just as the restaurant opened. The food was delicious, and the lady that waited on us was wonderful. She was attentive, but not to the point where it ever felt like she was hovering, We enjoyed the food and the experience very much, and Cashion's is definitely on my list of DC restaurants. As we were one of maybe 3 or 4 groups present, I can't say much for the noise level or the atmosphere, because it couldn't be anything but quiet, but the space is quite nice, and while it seemed like there were quite a few tables, it didn't seem like people would be sitting on top of each other even if the restaurant was full.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible establishmentI have been going to Cashion's for several years and the food, wine and hospitality keeps getting better! What a great dinning experience! Justin, George and Billy really are class acts! The final pairing if dessert wine with dessert was spot on! Can't wait for the next time!!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMTop Notch RestaurantEverything is terrific at Cashion's. Food, service, neighborhood, and clientele were all interesting. Very attentive service and the manager moved around making sure everything was just right. Great place for a special occasion when you don't want to get too dressed up.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExceeded ExpectationsI wasn't really sure what to think about Cashion's when we made the reservation. I thought it was just going to be another Mintwood (a few doors down). The layout is great. The layout is comfortable and if you want a more private dining experience you can get one of the more closed off tables. The outdoor seating looks really nice, but it was too cold to eat out when we went. Great cocktails for brunch as well!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways reliableI've never had a disappointing or even mediocre experience here. Perfect food, service and ambiance.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMCashion's is one of my favoriteCashion's is one of my favorite places to eat on DC. The food is always high quality and creative, the staff are knowledgeable regarding food and wine, and the atmosphere is elegant but laid back at the same time.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWell done, as always, foodWell done, as always, food is always imaginative and service strong.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMALthough the food was veryALthough the food was very good, it was not up to the level touted by a well-known restaurant critic. The bread, which I regard as a sort of test case for the overall quality of the food, was quite bland. A large staff ensured careful attention, although this sometimes resulted in premature removal of items. So a very good experience--nothing to grouse about. But there are other restaurants just as good and equally pricey which might require less travel and easier access by metro or car.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary DinnerWe went for our anniversary on a Thursday night, the weather was warm and people were sitting both inside and out. We had a drink at the bar before we sat down for dinner. Bartender was friendly and made good speciality drinks.
Our waiter was friendly but did not know the menu that well in terms of recommendations. However, Justin who selected wine for us was extremely friendly, knowledgable and engaging. His wine selection based on our dinner selection was perfect. The lamb "stew" with feta was amazingly good as was my Rock fish.
I would go back and recommend it.
RG4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for brunch and it wasWent for brunch and it was delicious. Sat out on the patio (they don't take reservations for the patio--it was a really nice day, we we were really lucky). Split the following with my friend and all was absolutely delicious: cinnamon & sugar donuts, Huckleberry Waffles with Lemon Butter & Maple Syrup, and the crispy salt-roasted Potatoes. Highly recommend all of those!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food, excellent service,Amazing food, excellent service, great location. I oved the halibut and the sweet potato/ginger soup.
