  • "I've been to Casbah before this past Saturday and have had a relatively good experience. But this time, although the service was impeccable, the food left much to be desired at the price I paid. The appetizer was dry and the pita was burnt, yet it still made it's way to the table. They were kind enough to remake the dish, but it should've never been served that way. It was a fine dinner with a friend from out of town, but there are better Big Burrito restaurants and next time I'll venture across the street to Mad Mex."

  • "Went to casbah for my girlfriends birthday. Much better experience than the previous time. Sat in the patio area which is still romantic but more spacious than being jammed inside. I got the swordfish and crispy polenta which was amazing. My girlfriend got the halibut which was a bit over cooked but still good. Scallops for an appetizer and raspberry bread pudding for dessert which both tasted great. Our server was also much better than last time. Very respectful and provider great service"

  • "A friend and I had lunch here the other day. As always, the food was superlative, and this time, the consistently excellent service went above and beyond what I would expect. I ordered an appetizer, and a server (not the one who took our order) brought the wrong one. When I remarked on it, she immediately offered to replace it with my original order. But the one she brought was also something I had been thinking about, so I told her I was fine with it and not to worry. Our original server, Grant (I believe), heard about the mixup, came over to apologize, and sent me home with an order of my original request on the house! It was totally not necessary but very much appreciated!"

  • "Several years ago when Casbah opened it was ahead of the curve and perhaps the best restaurant in Pittsburgh. With all the new very good restaurants opening it's good to see that Casbah is holding its own. The pastas might seem expensive at around $30.00. However they have enough of expensive and quality ingredients to be worth it. I doubt they will ever take the Gnudi off the menu. It is truly one of the best apps in the country. Service is attentive but not intrusive."

  • "I came here with a friend for their birthday. Patricia (the waitress in training) and Grant our waiter were terrific. We both had quite a few questions on the menu and the wine list. I was impressed that both Patricia and Grant were able to describe the tastes and choices in great detail. The meal was paced well with appetizers, salad and main course moving steadily. The main courses were excellent. You can tell each plate is carefully created and presented. Casbah has always been a consistent winner for me. I highly recommend visiting."

The food was worth the somewhat lengthy wait time. Right about the time we were saying " Did they forget about us?", the food arrived. Hot and tasty!"

  • "Had an outstanding romantic date night dinner. The food was beyond excellent (we dine in NYC, Paris, London all the "top restaurants" for work). Love the 1/2 portions of pasta so we could try everything (rec by our waiter). prices are reasonable and our waiter was the best (very good, friendly, funny and super helpful). Highly recommend Casbah to anyone looking to have a delicious and satisfying dining experience."

  • "As always the food was excellent. I had the grilled octopus salad and the grilled swordfish as an entree. Both done perfectly. The wait staff were attentive without being intrusive. Love that they finally have valet parking. Trying to find parking on this street is virtually impossible. The only pay lot that existed is now part of a construction zone, so its not available. We have always loved this place and continue to go back. ."

We were all particularly impressed with the different sauces on each of the pastas we tried. The arugula salad was delish...with nice pieces of pancetta...and the soups are spot-on."

Also - he was kind enough to move us further away from the open area at the entrance when the thunderstorm kicked up. Wine flight was a great value - i had three excellent reds. Food was top notch with a friendly skilled server making great recommendations. Expansive drink menu and wine list. Seafood a highlight. One of the best restaurants in the city for sure. A bit pricey for an anyweekend, but would be the perfect choice for special occasions."

The outdoor area was very warm the evening we were there and the ceiling fans did nothing to help. A bit uncomfortable with the heat. Appetizers were very good. I will have no problem returning."

  • "Met a granddaughter and partner for dinner. We were seated in the covered patio area. It's quite pleasant, but the chairs don't have cushions and become uncomfortable after a few minutes. Our waiter seemed rushed and the restaurant was busy, but not overwhelmed. The salads and appetizers were very good. Our granddaughter specifically asked for a well-done steak (she is pregnant) and it arrived medium rare. It was sent back to the kitchen, but a new one was cooked to order. Dessert of S'mores was tasty."

The waiter was friendly and attentive. Also, I appreciated the accommodations made for my dairy allergy. I will definitely come back for brunch again!"

The bartenders are quick to serve, the hostess staff is very friendly and the servers are very knowledgable of the menu. My husband's favorite meal is the pork chop….it is the very best!"

  • "Chef produced a great meal. Grilled octopus salad was the best I've had, Alaskan halibut was terrific: a little salt &pepper, quick hot pan sear, cover and finish in oven. Bread pudding ingredients were very good but it was dry, need to use a deep ramekin. Fairly priced wine and cocktails. Jaime did a friendly and efficient serving job. I would return if ever in town again."

We asked to sit inside because it was so hot outside and there was no air movement on the patio. If the heat bothers you, I would recommend sitting inside."

  • "Positives: lots of seating, valet parking, and great food for on a rare special occasion Negatives: too for the quantity was a little more. My girlfriend ordered the 4 tasty short rib raviolis. My cioppino-very good with an amazing sauce, too skimpy. They do serve fresh sourdough bread to start with a salted butter and a homemade yogurt/butter, which was very good. As for the drinks, happy hour M-F 5-7…in the bar area. I always find this ridiculous when a restaurant does! The patio is nice, warm and the traffic a little noisy. OpenTable comment stated that it was my girlfriend's birthday, but I guess they either don't do anything special for birthdays or they missed the comment. Lastly, not a huge deal, but service could be more friendly."

  • "I really wanted to love this place, but my wife and I left feeling we had a date with two other tables. The food was great and the service was great! The tables were very closely placed to each other. I would highly recommend the outdoor seating as things are more spread out, but if you want to dine inside, be ready to feel that you need to hold onto your wine glasses any time a waiter/waitress tries to walk between the tables. Also get ready for you personal bubble to be popped. Again, the food and service were great. It just was not a romantic atmosphere."

  • "The menu always has new and unusual items along with some old stand-byes like the Oriechetti. I always have to force my self to get get something else. The chef does a nice job of combining a variety of colors, textures, and flavors. The food presentation is always worthy of a photograph. Our server, Grant, was pleasant, efficient, and personable. Casbah is our go to for special occasions! Go! Savor every moment!"
