Casa Rustica RestaurantGreat place to celebrateWe just celebrated Mother's Day and a college graduation at Casa Rustica with a party of 9. The food was very good and the service was outstanding!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways enjoyableThis is our favorite special occasion restaurant. The food and service are always consistently great.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was good...not outstandingThe food was good...not outstanding..but good. I was not happy with my decafinated espresso. I love espresso, but theirs was more like regular decaf coffee. My husband had a special. His steak was a bit tough with some grizzle - and not much of it. My strip steak, on the other hand, was delicious.
I am gluten free, and they were able to offer a lot items I was abke to eat, even saying they could alter the recipe for me. That was very nice.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMItalian RestaurantThe Casa Rustica is absolutely wonderful. It is a small, intimate restaurant with outstanding food, and the wait staff is great.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious DiningAlways a positive dining experience at Casa Rustica. It is our "go to" restaurant in the Boone area. The food is excellent, and the menu has much from which to choose. Pleasant atmosphere. Comfortable seating. Attentive and informed wait staff. Progressive jazz plays live on certain nights. Reservations recommended on busy nights, especially weekends and holidays.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything about our experienceEverything about our experience at Casa Rustica was enjoyable. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice. Will definitely go again when I'm in the area and recommend to friends who are visiting.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA super meal with great ambianceFantastic meal with great service. Both my hubby and I had the spinach salad which was excellent. Then I had the chicken piccata and he had the veal francese. Both were very tasty. Portions are a little on the small side, but the quality of the food makes up for it. For dessert we had the bread pudding. This one was a little drier than I have had in the past, but it did have chocolate and cherries in it, plus ice cream and whipped cream on top. How can you go wrong with that?
The fireplace was going, although we were sitting a little bit away from it. The place is just very nice!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMenu was very good good variety.Menu was very good good variety. Wait staff was outstanding - our server knew the specials by heart, explained very well, took entire order for 4 people not writing it down. Served very timely and professionally. provided extra bread and salad dressings as requested. Very pleasant service. Desserts (canoli) were excellent, coffee was served hot (usually we get coffee that is already cooling) Excellent expresso.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMJust the right ambiance forJust the right ambiance for a dinner prior to an evening event. Food was very good. and will return. Was the first night for our waitress, but she was well supervised and both did a nice job.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was simple, unpretentiousFood was simple, unpretentious Italian done VERY well. Interesting take on tiramisu as well. I had seafood fra diavolo with medium heat. Excellent!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMA High Country GEMCasa Rustica is always a wonderful dining experience. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The food is outstanding. Very well-run restaurant.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMMy brother had told me aboutMy brother had told me about Casa Rustica a long time ago but I hadn't taken the time to try it. I'm kicking myself!
The atmosphere is excellent. It feels like you are in a cozy mountain cabin. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. And the owner even came by to see how our meal was. And the meal was excellent! From the bread to the salad to the main course! Everything was fresh and very tasty!
We had tried another restaurent in Boone a few nights before. The food was not as good and the bill was almost twice as much!
I travel to Blowing Rock twice a year for vacation and Casa Rustica will be the newest addition to my mountain tradition.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBig city quality/Small town priceThis wasn't the first time I ate at Casa Rustica. The food is consistently excellent as is the service. Despite this being a college town with many student waiters, a lot of the staff have been here for years and they know the customers and they are professional at their waiting jobs. Each year a couple of new items are added, often as "specials". These are definitely worth trying. I highly recommend Casa Rustica. It is exceptional value for a reasonable price. Most nights the owners are there in person, making sure the customers are happy with their food and service.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMStill a good choice for dinner! This was our second visit. The food choices were not as outstanding as the last time, but they were still good. I had the chicken saltimbanca, my husband had the the "special" chicken with prochiutto. The appetizer we had was stuffed mushrooms. The mushrooms were okay, but not fantastic. The same was true for the saltimbanca. We will still be back and try out some more items. The first meals we had were fantastic, so we will continue to return!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed a wonderful dinnerWe enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Casa Rustica. We chose them partially based upon other reviews and we were not disappointed. We noticed (and appreciated) a couple of things. The ability to make reservations online is a SUPER option. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who seated us immediately. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the drink and dinner menus. (He even indicated the wait staff has "tastings" to better be able to make recommendations).
The food was fantastic - fresh and tasty. We highly recommend this restaurant!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWow, what a great find! Try it out!The main dishes were fantastic and the menu variety was excellent. I had the chicken special with artichokes and my husband had a veal saltemblaca. The were both amazingly tender and flavorful. I had a salted caramel mocha martini that was great as well. The only disappointment was the dessert. It looked really nice on the plate, but the ice cream was more like a store bought ice cream. (It was a pastry with vanilla ice cream rolled in cookie crumbles or something otherwise chocolate). I had a salad and my husband had the soup of the day (a creamy chicken). Both were fresh and delicious.
We have recently moved to the area and it's taken us 6 months to find this gem. I assure you it will be nowhere near that long before we go back!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
