I liked that it was small place and the food was ok. the portions where very small for two people. my husband and I shared our appertizers and entree. When i go out i like to have good music in the background, i thought this was a very quiet and boring environement. This place can definetely be a romantic spot, if there was more of a lively environment. also a bit pricey for the portions served.

Pretty standard and delicious Spanish tapas and very potent sangria. Our patatas bravas came out at the end of the meal and the manager realized that "they are not dessert" and took them off the bill. They also came out with an extra glass of sangria for each of us on the house. So they definitely made up for any flubs in customer service.

The food was average and the service terrible. We were rushed and felt unwanted because we were dining with our 4 year old son. The place is clearly not child friendly and we were treated this way even though it was only 6:30 pm. I would not go back.

Met a friend there for dinner the other night. A few tables were booked, a perfect amount for a winter Tuesday night. Ordered a few different tapas and veggie paella The tapas were pretty good - highly recommend the cheeses. Cod fritters with sauce were very good The paella, however, was a little bland. Overall, a nice place for a quiet evening to catch up with friends. Based on my experience, I definitely recommend sharing a few tapas as opposed to ordering a main dish.

Casa Pomona needs to step it up a bit to compete on the UWS with other establishments that give you more for your money. The Sangria was only okay. I may or may not return here.

Everything was seriously over-salted. My friend and I couldn't figure out why we were so full after eating a moderate amount: no question, it was the salt. No subtlety in the spicing, at all, either. If you want to have tapas on the UWS, I'd recommend Buceo 95, instead-- far superior.

Very Good Tapas, Very Good Wine List, Very Good Service, Not so good Paella. Had the Kale Salad and fried artichoke hearts for Tapas selections. They were excellant. Shared a traditional Paella for the entree which was more like a Fried Rice dish with some chicken, chirozo, pork, and fish stirred in. I can actually say I never had Paella served this way. Next time I'll stick with the tapas and a glass of wine.

The restaurant's ambiance is gorgeous. The layout is open and the two dining areas are distinct and tastefully decorated. The staff was kind and helpful. However, every plate of ours for brunch was not warm enough, as if it had been sitting out for too long. The brunch tapas was borderline, but it got worse with our coffee, breakfast potatoes, and eggs. The only thing that came out hot was the cast iron eggs because they were finished in the oven. When its cold outside, I want to eat a hot, comforting brunch. We were not too impressed.

Reasonably priced delicious tapas - pan con tomate was chock FULL of tomatoes and garlic. Have a mint after, but so worth it The croquetas were all pretty great too with the various aiolis/sauces. It's a good sized place, but fills up faster than you'd think. Make a reservation just in case.

We tried Casa Pomona because of a coupon from BlackBoard Eats. We would go back again based on this experience. The menu features tapas and vegetable sides of all kinds. It's best to go in assuming you'll order some combination of these, as the entree choices are quite limited. I liked the fact that they brought the tapas (we ordered six in all) in ones and twos rather than all at once. The only complaint is that we ordered too much for the two of us -- but that was entirely under our control!

Great ambiance. Nice and relaxing. Great steak and eggs—had mine medium rare and it was divine. The service by everyone other than our server was fantastic. The owner and busboy were very accommodating and quite nice; however, our waiter was a bit curt and asking him to refill our unlimited brunch drinks were like pulling teeth. My friend ordered the burger medium, but was served it well done (and had to be sent back), so that was the only other issue.

The food here was capably executed, however, our party ordered many items, including paella, charcuterie, tapas and it all came out at once. This created a very rushed feeling, there was not enough room at the table and warm foods became cold. Also, our server, who was pleasant enough, had no knowledge of the food and did not seem to realize it would be helpful for us if she were to be able to inform us.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon around 5pm to meet with some friends and the place was relatively busy,. Our server was really personable - entertaining to say the very least! He was definitely on top of things, keeping the drinks flowing and the food coming! Most notable dishes were the Sardines, Albondigas, Croquetas ,Patatas Bravas I really love the gambas a la plancha and the last dishes blow my mind which it was The Paella Valenciana. After all this tapas and the paella the manager brought us Churros con Chocolate and Buñuelos that they were amazing also. We loved the Sangria and would definitely recommend this restaurant for families, local and couples

I'd like to say it was an off night, but it was Thursday. The staff was inattentive, took little effort to explain the menu, brought drinks long after they were ordered, and generally ignored us throughout the meal. The waiter was prone to disappearing for long stretches, but the place wasn't busy. A more polite staff would have gone a long way toward making us feel more welcome. If you want one thing that's emblematic of what's wrong with the menu, I suggest you try the signature dish - the Cochinillo (crispy suckling pig) - not only is the side that comes with it completely contradictory to the flavors of the pig, the pig itself was overcooked. All in all nothing memorable on the menu except the draft Estrella Dam. A nice beer.

Casa Pomona is a Spanish-style tapas place that also has entrees and paella. It's casual yet smart and a wonderful place just to hang out, eat, drink, socialize, and be happy. Definitely needed in the neighborhood. My favorite place to sit is at the high-tops in the front. We Americans are a little squeamish about sharing space with people we don't know, but we really need to get over that. Bar is fun, Spanish wine selection small but well-chosen. Tapas are delicious, we always order more than we should. Usually you can just drop in, but reservations are increasingly a good idea.

Don't waste your money. The menu has an item listed as grilled deboned sardines, which weren't deboned. The Paella ($28) they say on the menu allow 45 minutes since it's prepared from scratch, and it shows up with the tapas appetizer's ten minutes after being ordered. It was incredibly dry and more rice was stuck to the pan than loose and it was uneatable.

Our second visit, and this time we went with friends and got a variety of tapas, as well as a small paella to share. Everything we ordered was great and we were noticeably scraping at the rice left in the paella pan. Followed it all up with a crema Catalan and churros with chocolate dipping sauce we all shared. Tables in back are not crunched up next to other, so you're not listening to everyone else's conversation. It's definitely a new favorite!

To start, the service was solid and the ambiance is nice. However, I wouldn't go back because the food was really mediocre. We tried about 5-6 different things on the menu and nothing was very good. Some of it was downright bad. Everything was a bit oily and tasteless. The portions are also a big for tapas which we found annoying because we over-ordered by 1-2 dishes and our waiter didn't warn us. On the flip side, some may view this as a nice bonus since the food is not that expensive (it would be a great value if the food was any good!). Note: we did not try the paella so it is possible that is worth the trip. Overall, I would avoid this place - not worth going out for mediocre to poor food.

Crispy patatas bravas, nicely charred pulpo, croquetas that actually has fish texture - not just pureed mush, and not overly garlicy like so many "authentic" tapas in NYC. Good pacing so the food didn't all show up at once. Tasty sangria. Will be back.

A few friends and I were craving tapas, and Casa Pomona--just an avenue from where I live and highly recommended by a friend--was a no-brainer. The service was fantastic, the wine superb, and the plates (we ordered the Migas (fried egg with peppers), Fideua Negra (squid ink noodles with calamari), Alcachofa (fried artichoke hearts, and the small chicken and chorizo paella) each more delicious than the last. We will definitely come back, now that we know about the bottomless brunch!
