  • "Casa Orinda is a reliable, old fashioned (no espresso machine) western themed restaurant. This is a good place to usually find a table without much notice. They usually have a spot for a group of 8 or so. They have a variety of good high quality food and excellent salads and fried chicken. The mud pie for desert is always good - not too big or too sweet. They have an excellent bar that consistently pours a heavy drink. This is a great local spot that makes coming back from a beautiful vacation away, a little more tolerable."

  • "It's always nice to come here introducing new people to what has become one of our families favorite places."

  • "the organic birds that give their all & end up at the Casa are treated with utmost respect and finesse when they're submerged in that transformative vessel the pressure fryer..they emerge a dark shade of amber, hot & succulent with perfect not overly battered crispy skin........for our group of 6 it was preceded by a shared order of fragrantly beefy prime rib..... it has to be one of the perfect meals ever."

  • "It's our go to place when we decide to get a bite to eat. Grew up & went to school with the original owners. Never rushed....our complete and extended family feel the same. Probably return once or twice a month. We'll be back......"

  • "We went on a Saturday night. We got seated in the second dining room, because I forgot to request the main room. The main room has higher ceilings and the fireplace, so even though it is across from the bar, the sound gets absorbed better. My family had to almost yell over the noise. The sound of all those people just had nowhere to go. I'm glad they have a full house and good business, but we will not be back on a crowded Saturday. It was just not worth it. Food, everything else was just fine."

  • "Used to come here with my parents a couple of times a year growing up. The food is very good—my father swears by the fried chicken, the rest of us usually have something more Italian-ish—and the atmosphere is very warm and the service friendly. Just went back for the first time in 12 years or so and found that very little had changed. Great meal and we'll return!"

  • "This was not my first visit to Casa Orinda and it may or may not be my last. Their fried chicken is extremely good, their service is very good, but their dining rooms are loud and for some reason, every time my spouse and I go there, we get seated between two large, loud parties. This time was no exception. We were unable to enjoy our meal together, as the table of 6 we were seated next to was so obnoxiously loud. They were unbearable. It will be a long time before I venture there again, if ever - this happens to us a lot there. What a waste of a night out."

The menu reflects many teriffic classic offerings as well as a fresh ideas on salads, etc. You can always count on having a memorable meal and being treated well. The fried chicken is not to be missed!"

  • "casa Orinda was a taste of a bygone era, for us baby boomers it was perfect for anniversary dinner. we were a little early we waited for the family to arrive by sitting at the charming bar, with the not so charming bartender. she offered peanuts to the couple next to us who were obviously regulars, then came to us, no real welcome or warmth, and no offer of peanuts. Lucky for us, our waiter "Al" was the opposite of her, and made us feel happy to be there. appetizers, were very good, calamari the best. dinner was very good, not gourmet, but we all enjoyed what we ordered. the youngest in our party loved her brownie sundae. we will return, but will probably skip sitting at the bar next time. we will request "Al" again for our server."

  • "Have not been to "...The Casa..." for several years .... great memories of meals over the decades continue. Outstanding service, not pushy service but always there when needed. Food portions for group of 3 men were more than adequate. We will be back more frequently because of the experience. Thanks!"

  • "Excellent food and service as usual. If you haven't been here its a must for the decor and the foo-d particularly the Prime Rib and their famous fried chicken."

  • "Yes, we only knew about this place through TV. We made the trek over to Orinda and of course ordered their famous fried chicken, which lived up to all the hype! The best part to me was actually the biscuit! I would order a batch of those if I could. Overall our experience was pleasant. The only negative aspect was actually the service, which we tried not to let bother us since everyone else was helpful. Our server was curt and rude. One example out of many was when we asked her her recommendation between two entrées, she basically said the veal is veal and the shrimp is shrimp, and since they're different it's up to us to decide. With that said, we would still come back for the ambiance and delicious food, but not that server's area."

  • "I had been meaning to come here for many years. I was not disappointed, the food was outstanding and the servers very friendly. My only complaint was there was a big time lag between appetizers and the main course I think because they were busy. I hope to come back many times."

  • "Came here for Fathers Day. Ordered drinks at the bar before dinner. The bartender was personable and the atmosphere was comfortable. Sampled the beet salad, cannelloni, veal parmigiana and sweetbreads - all were very good. Prices are reasonable. Overall, this was a good experience and I would return."

  • "Casa Orinda never disappoints! The food was great, and our waiter Chris made us feel like VIPs. Even though it was very busy, everything arrived on time and perfectly cooked, and we left with full stomachs and full "to go" bags. Anyone who think this place doesn't have a nice, cozy ambiance clearly doesn't know what ambiance means!"

  • "We have never been disappointed at the Casa Orinda. The menu offers a wide selection of choices. The food is delicious. The prices are reasonable. The bar makes great drinks and the wait staff are thoroughly professional (not a bunch of 20-something's who can't remember who ordered what). We often go for their famous fried chicken which is out of this world! Sometimes just the two of us, sometimes with a group for a birthday or anniversary, everyone always remarks about what a great restaurant we took them to. Valet parking completes the picture. Enjoy!"

  • "If you're looking for an upbeat place; this is not it. The bartender was extremely RUDE. The food was over cooked especially the vegetables, not a place for a young crowd at all. I ordered the prawns, and they were awful to say the least. Very disappointing! Will not return"

  • "We've been going to Casa Orinda for years. The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming. The staff is always helpful and attentive. This is a great place to meet friends for a catch-up meal. They have the best fried chicken and prime rib! The biscuit that comes with the fried chicken is delicious. The menu has so many choics for all tastes. Casa Orinda is a great community restaurant, and it's our go-to place."

  • "Casa maintains its long time Orinda tradition. The old west ambiance, the Italian/American menu, the divine fried chicken...nothing changes. Our server was very accommodating and surprised our birthday celebrant with an ice cream sundae at the end of a great meal. Two of us ordered the veal, as that is seldom found on menus these days. Delicious! We had a great time from start to finish. "

  • "Now I hate to say this place is great because then it will become very crowded...... but it is. They are known for their fried chicken but their Prime Rib and fish dishes are fab. C Rose the meet n greet person always recognizes me and I can't say that for other places I frequent! Great value and Onion Rings to die for!!!"

  • "Everything was perfect! The staff and our waitress Christine were VERY attentive, accommodating, and upbeat. We all had different entrees, and we all agreed that the food was exceptional. The presentations were beautiful and everything tasted exactly as it should -- perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and more than generously portioned. Thank you for making my mom's birthday party a huge success!"

  • "Clearly a neighborhood classic with memorabilia that outlines Orinda's history. The well established staff knew many of the guests by first name and were excellent. I was excited to eat here. The food was all cooked well but everything was lacking just a little. The fried chicken for instance had a great reputation, but found it lacking flavor and spice. The salmon/risotto was good but slightly undercooked. I have to give it another try soon, because if the food can match the service and ambience, it would definitely be a neighborhood gem. "

  • "Always a pleasure to eat at Casa. We have been eating there since it was first opened at the 'Crossroads in Orinda'. The staff are so welcoming and warm. Food is totally terrific. We have never, ever been served anything but piping hot terrific food. I introduce all of my SF visitors to Casa and they rave about: Fried Chicken, the Ham Steak and Eggs, Raviolis and the Tournedos of Beef. Oh almost forgot about the fresh seafood! Yummy, yummy, yummy. A family owned visit to our collective past in the Bay Area it cannot be missed. A distant relative cowboy is in one of the photos above the bar and we didn't know it until recently. Imagine discovering that after coming here for almost 60 years!"

  • "Short ribs were terrible- were special on menu. Prime rib, chicken, and raviolis were good. Waiter very nice and kid friendly. Have eaten at Casa Orinda a lot and this was my first bad meal, but was extremely disappointed in short ribs-tough, didn't flake off bone, and very chewy."
