Every single dish was outstanding! We tried the Foie Gras with Cinco Cebollas (super flavourful), Bone Marrow with Tomato Jam and Pickled Sandía (tomato jam was an uncommon and welcome addition to the bone marrow), Skirt Steak with Romesco and Onion Mermelada (steak was cooked perfectly and the romesco was delicious) and Confit Goat with Avocado Queso, Scallion Ash and Pistachios (the avocado was a great complement to the goat). For dessert, we had the Pudín de Pan and the Chocolate, Crème Fraîche, Cherry Calimocho. Both were delicious!

A splendid tapas bar! The space is small and vibrant; the selections are unusual but can also accommodate less adventurous palates, from jamón serrano, fried squid , and quail to Duck egg , bone marrow, crispy pig's ears. Service very good. The selection of Spanish wines is spectacular. It is noisy, though less so at lunch. This makes it all the more authentically "Spanish," I would argue.

My husband and I went to this restaurant specifically to try the sea urchin. While the food was good, the rest of the experience was lacking. The waitress was very inattentive, never explained the plates to us, and we needed to look like we where shooing away hornets in order to get her attention. The server, when delivering our plates only mumbled. I was also disappointed that the wine list only carried dry wines, thus I ate my meal with just water.

A fantastic gem serving innovative dishes, as cook I will be stealing their ideas! Great wine list too. The staff are excellent - I only wish I had listened to my waitress when she told me not to order so much, but the menu is so inviting for one who has eyes bigger than their stomach. I would certainly recommend Casa Mono.

This was probably my 10th visit over the past several years. In the past I have always found everything to be first rate and the flavors of the various dished making it more than worthwhile to put up with the crowded, cramped dining room. This time the service, and more importantly, the food were not up to past standards. For example, the quail was several stages beyond well done and the beet dish (always a favorite in the past) was approaching the end of its shelf life. I hope this was simply an off-night for both the kitchen and the wait staff.

This is a place to keep on the top of your list. It's a very special place and the food is very creative and delicious. It can be a bit noisy, so you have to be in the mood, but once you settle in you forget about it. Dinner reservations you have to book well ahead. Lunch is fantastic and not too crowded.

I love everything about this restaurant, the location is perfect, the menu is inventive and there is always something that will please any palate with its variety of dishes, the amazing 100% Spanish wine list, the service is very attentive. It's tiny and quaint and it reminds me of so many places I've eaten in Spain. This is one of my regular choices for places to have lunch with a friend or a client or to have an intimate dinner with a couple of people. This is one of the places you must try if you are visiting New York. Not for children, not for large groups!

I've been there twice now and I think it's amazing. It's a very small place. Some might claim it is too tight... But the food and service are perfect. I went with my mom and we shared 5 courses and 2 desserts accompanied with a bottle of rose. Each dish got better and better! We had sea bass cevice, octopus, scallops, foie gras and rabbit. The rabbit was the most filling and satisfying (entree size) and the foie gras was served in a way I've never had before and was so rich. Our server was so nice and helpful, I let him pick our desserts, olive oil ice cream and chocolate creme fraiche. You can either sit at the bar, kitchen counter, or table. All three are great experiences in their own way. Will be going back again for a special occasion!

Inventive, tasty tapas in an extremely small space. The staff copes well with the limitations. $21 is too much for a glass of wine. Not a place to linger. Coat check should be provided gratis by the house. Expecting yet another tip for so essential a service smacks of extortion.

We made a special trip from Boston to Casa Mono in NYC to relive the great cuisine we enjoyed in Spain this past summer. However, we were disappointed. The dishes sounded exciting and innovative on the menu, but the bold fresh flavors were not there in some dishes and the execution was uneven. The razor clams were flavorful but too chewy, and I suspect overgrilled. The oxtails in peppers lacked a richness in taste. The baby octopus also tasted overcooked and we've had better elsewhere. However the goat was perfect, and the eggs with sea urchin was deliciously memorable. The service was superb! But for the $$$, it was good food, but not a memorable food experience.

This is a very special place. The service is good and the small plates are delicious. Its fun to share tastes and though I have been back several times, the quality is always superb and there is often something new on the menu. My favorites are the skirt steak, the razor clams, the goat fritte, the sea bass ceviche. Actually, every dish is great - it just depends on your mood. I like sitting at the bar when there are just two of us because it is fun to watch the chefs prepare the food.

We declined our middle-of-the-room table for a perch at the bar at this cozy and vibrant night spot off Union Square. Enjoyed terrific service and tapas that will make your senses sing! Wine recommendations were spot on with the dishes we ordered: Buffalo's Milk Burrata with Saffron Oranges, Raw Soho Salmon with Flor de Anis and Champagne grapes, Sepia a la Plancha with preserved lemon, green olive and shallot vinaigrette, skirt steak with Romesco and onion marmalade, rabbit with Haberno Cuajada and Mono Kimchee ... :) Wishing we could return and do a second round - so many tasty looking tapas to try! The food and service has gone down hill dramatically here. Four or Five years ago you got a really meal of tapas, but the quality has gone down dramatically and the prices are really terrible for the value you get. Unfortunately I will not be returning in the future as there is far better value (and more space to sit) in numerous tapas-inspired restaurants throughout the city.

We came to NYC for our 10th anniversary and ate at many excellent restaurants during our weekend here. But Casa Mono was by far our favorite. Beautiful carefully prepared food, an enthusiastic and knowledgeable waitress, and great sherry and wine. Our favorite was the goat- completely and unexpectedly delicious.
