Exceptional services! All restaurant personnel are very nice and professional. The food is awesome, some products are directly imported from Italy. The outdoor dining is pleasant. I highly recommend this restaurant, for me, one of the best in DC! I will go back for sure!

Dined there for restaurant week. The portions were a bit on the small side, still very tasty. Maybe they scale portion size down for restaurant week? Service is a little slow, could be more attentive.

We went during restaurant week to enjoy the good deal. Unfortunately they had no vegetarian options on the restaurant week menu so we had to order from the normal menu which only had one vegetarian entree. That entree was amazing! It was a ravioli with a zesty sauce. We definitely enjoyed our meal, but probably won't return anytime soon because of the limited vege options.

We were a party of eight, celebrating and we chose the family style option which allowed us to sample most of the menu. Everything was spectacular; truly one of the best dining experiences I've enjoyed in Washington. The meatballs actually melt in your mouth and the gnocchi was heavenly. The grilled meats and seafood dishes were the best selections of each protein type and the desserts were phenomenal. They also have a nice bar which is pleasant for dining as well. The location feels isolated but in fact is very easy to get to via public transportation.

First time at Casa Luca; we are big fans of parent restaurant Fiola. Restaurant Week menu was excellent; though choices were quite limited - but that just made us want to return to sample the regular offerings. Super fresh ingredients, skilled presentation, prepared just right - all around superb (fruit and greens salad, soft-shell crab and garbanzo puree, panna cotta with berry sauce & granita). More casual atmosphere and waiters not as skilled or engaged, compared with Fiola, but that was fine; definitely want to return for the food!

We had a very nice special evening for a little celebration. Everything was very nice, and we even had the Rest Week Menu with an added pasta portion. While all the food was excellent, the RW steak was out of sight ( with rosemary )--just outstanding and perfectly cooked. The management of this restaurant is top notch--and that makes it easier for the kitchen to deliver it promise. We like Casa Luca very much and always ready to return.

I thought the restaurant was very nice - it looked great and smelled great and the ambiance was good. However, I ordered the "Homemade Fuccilli Pasta" for my dinner - and it tasted like boxed spiral pasta. I understand that we are receiving a deal for restaurant week - but they should not be advertising homemade when it is clearly not. It was a bit upsetting and this incident has deterred me from going back there during non-restaurant week times.

Not all Restaurant Week experiences are indicative of a restaurant's normal functioning, but Casa Luca was disappointing enough to not merit a return visit. The food was mediocre, as was the service. The most disappointing was the exceptionally poor house-made pasta. I was very excited to try it and very let down by the results--it was hard and tasteless and smothered by the cacio. The ambience was nice and it wasn't overly noisy, which was a relief, especially compared to similar restaurants, but I was not impressed enough to return.

I loved the fantastic ingredients in this food and great care taken in assembling flavors and creating a beautiful presentation. Our server was delightful but there was a little confusion due to busy-ness during Restaurant Week. Also, the music was pretty loud and thumpy. I would definitely return!

This is a great little late night find. We arrived at 10:30 and it was obvious that we were the last table to be seated. However we were never rushed by the attentive staff and were made to feel very welcome. The anti pasta was average with a limited selection of meat- mortadella. The cheeses were nicely aged and the tomato and mozarella was decent. The wine list is limited but well chosen

Was in DC for a convention and walked over from hotel. What a lucky walk that turned out to be. Was a really nice evening so was able to sit outside. Bruschetta - awesome. We shared two small pastas - the Ravioli San Leo - really, really good. I couldn have ate an entire portion myself. The other was Fusilli with burrata - very good but I still dream of the ravioli. Also split monkfish, very nice. Went with the cheese for dessert which is always a good bet. Service was excellent as well. Oh, and someone at the table next to ours ordered the squid ink pasta, and it looked like he was really enjoying it. Too bad my dinning mate was alergic or I would have ordered that!

My favorite spot for lunch and dinner. The service is perfect - well trained and knowledgable staff. The food is flavorable, very well presented and drives you to come back. I have now been to Casa Luca twice for lunch and both times the food was impeccable - seasonal, so tasty -- and the service was great! I had the lovliest green salad with thin slices of stone fruit, pistachio and decadent spaghetti carbonara the most recent time, and a wedge of the chard tart and zucchini in a fresh tomato sauce the first time. Both meals were just delicious! Sorry my office is moving further away.

We requested a table where we could have conversation & were seated in a lovely quiet room in the back.Waiter recommended a great red wine that we enjoyed, but surprised there was no pinot noir on the list. The piece of white pre-sliced bread that was served was lack luster and cold no butter or olive oil was served with it.We looked at each other hoping the food would be better. The food was excellent! We ordered blanco pizza, lobster & farrow salad,Summer Misto salad,Seafood polenta for 2 & Potato gnocchi w/duck confit. The cannoli was outstanding & so was the Gelato.Unfortunately the coffees & Cappuccinos were cold, we sent them back & came back cold. We still loved our dinner and would go back. They need to work on the bread and the coffee.

Rarely are we happy with both the service and quality of food at Washington area restaurants. Casa Luca delivers! We ventured out for dinner with a two month old baby and the manager, staff, and hostess were incredibly accommodating to our needs given the little one (a table outside--the restaurant was packed and a bit too noisy) and friendly. The dinner was wonderful--I enjoyed a cold gazpacho soup with fried squash blossoms, and we split a delectable ravioli san leo with a zesty lemon flavor. The meat and fish entrees were wonderful too! Thank you Casa Luca for a wonderful meal, we'll be back again soon!

We visit Casa Luca about every six weeks or so and thoroughly enjoy the bar when it is not too crowded, and always dinner at their many nice tables. The senior staff and servers are all professional and engaged with the customers, and the restaurant manager is on the spot with everything. My husband and I were visiting DC and search for an Italian restaurant close to our hotel and Casa Luca was first on the list. The place was okay, we didn't dress up for dinner since we just came back from our tour. The place is beautiful but the tables are too close to each other that you can hear the conversation of the people sitting next to you. The food was okay but a little bit pricey for the serving size, menu is limited. We were not happy with the waiter, he didn't come and check on us during the course of dinner, but he did to the other 2 tables next to us. Overall, not happy.

I have been at Casa Luca in all seasons but I think in the Summer when they match their menu to the season beautifully, I think my favorite. Their food is absolutely excellent but also the presentation, the colors- the deep red of the peach, dark green of the avocado is more pronounced than at other spots. This time sat outside, and I note even at fine restaurants in the city, the level of service decreases when you sit outside. At Casa Luca the other day, the service was excellent. There are lots of good Italian restaurants in this town at the moment, but Casa Luca is a "Gem".

This was only our second time for dinner here but certainly won't be our last! Another rare break from summer heat and humidity allowed us to sit outside which was delightful. My husband had the caeser salad, which is a different take on the ordinary caeser , very unique and delicious. I had the heirloom tomatoes with stracciatella and pesto, wonderful! Entrees were the Branzino for him and the pasta puttanesca for me. The fish was cooked perfectly and presented beautifully, my pasta was perfect. We had the same server as before, Diaz, who is fantastic! Very knowledgeable, professional, and a delightful personality. We also talked quite a bit to the manager Josue who is very interesting, a hard working young man that does whatever it takes.

The house-made pastas are superior, as are the seasonal starters. Ambience is bright and pleasant --not cozy, with outdoor seating. Service was helpful and personable. One mistake was that the second course arrived before we had finished the first, which us reeled rushed. Without a word from us, the staff responded smoothly with on-the-house 'cellos. Noisy, decent food, service a little lacking... Atmosphere was noisy- seems the trend though. Food was pretty good- we had a free app b/c they needed to move us, and the app was AWESOME actually. Wish I knew what it was! The Gnocchi was good- a "bit" bland and a "bit" too soft and squishy, but good. The meatball app was great, the other food was great. Service was a bit lacking, and almost seemed bugged we were there. Not forgot about, but left wondering how to get a refill, etc. Wouldn't shy away from a future visit, wouldn't go out of my way though either.

Overall, I rate Casa Luca with 4 stars. I have frequented the restaurant for lunch, but the other night was our first dinner reservation. It was a Saturday and the restaurant was quite busy. The food was very good, but what was troubling me as I reflected on the evening was how the waiter (who was very nice, helpful and courteous) seldom visited our table once our order was taken. I felt - where was the follow-up? Don't get me wrong - there was good overall service by others, but I had to ask for a big spoon for my pasta after I was told it was coming and I had to ask for parmesan cheese. These are little things, but I noticed them and it led me to my original question - what role does (or should) the waiter play with his customers?

Food was exceptional, Risotto was perfect and sincere is was my first visit the Maître de stopped by twice to check on us and brought us sample dessert on the house. Couldn't have been better. May be July 5 was an off day for the kitchen (and the surely waiter) but most of the dishes we had were mediocre at best. July 5 is the restaurant's "birthday" and the menu stated that special food and drinks would be featured but this was news to the wait staff as none were available. The branzino was quite good and well prepared while the monkfish was not. We ordered the ravioli which the waiter recommended as one of the best dishes on the menu and were greatly disappointed. The sauce that accompanied the ravioli was thick and had a strong objectionable taste that masked the taste of the ravioli. The two deserts were quite good.Overall, a great disappointment and a proof that high cost does not necessarily mean great food.

I was looking forward to trying out this restaurant based on reviews but was left underwhelmed. My salad had great ingredients but was unbalanced, and the pasta was under-seasoned, and not flavorful. Something was lacking in the execution. The same went for all of my friend's dishes. Service was uneven, but the hostess was quite solicitous in the end, which was a welcomed gesture. I hope that it was just an off night for the restaurant.

The food is indeed excellent, but the service is what earns this restaurant five-stars. The staff is most attentive yet discreet. I have dined there with friends twice over the past two weeks, and both hostesses recalled our preferences and unpretensiously offered recommendations. Both times we were served complimentary appetizers; the first time an "amuse bouche," the second a full cutting board of excellent "fumerie" and cheeses. A lovely place to dine for a reasonable price.
