Diner Reviews
  • "A nice place and different from the mundane. But the service was horrible, we ended with 5 different servers. saw my original server 3 times, i was going to order more drinks but didn't get the opportunity to. Other than that, the food was good, the entertainment was good and the environment was great. oh, and don't try and call for a reservation, they will tell you it is full but online there are always tables."

  • "Went to the restaurant with a group of 8. Server told us that they don't have cocktails (lie) and that we had to order from the prize fixed menu (lie). Not a good way to start off the evening. The food was fair - portions were tiny and the prawns were awful. Very pretty restaurant and cool ambience. Won't go back because battling with the server was just not expected or worth it."

  • "My husband was very impressed. Food was excellent ( little pricy). Waiter was very friendly and attentive to our needs."

  • "Great food, ambience and the belly dancer is an added bonus. The cocktail menu was a little limited and the portions of food small. However, this is a must do experience and perfect if you want to be with that special someone on a date."

  • "We booked a tent on a Saturday night. They sat us 1 hour later in a tent that was on a hallway in the bar, not in the dining area. 2 of us were seated in small chairs so you have to be with your arms up all the time to be able to eat! We couldn't see the show because we where at the bar and the 2 friends seated in the chairs were bothered during the whole dinner by the people that were in an out the bar. The waiter was trying to pleased us to forget about the wait and the table we got. He gave us tequila shots witch was a nice gesture. They took their time to take the order, bring the food and the check so the diner extended to 3.5 hours! INSANE If you are looking for a good dining experience please don't go there."

  • "The space is incredible. The decor is so beautiful. It possesses true Moroccan decorum and feel. It felt very warm and inviting. The staff was very genuine and helpful. The food was delicious. We really enjoyed the moussaka dish, which was incredible. Our server was super sweet and adorable. She took our pictures and gave helpful tips. We will definitely return again. My birthday dinner was a special experience."

  • "Totally enjoyed Casa in a comprehensive way. No one thing was outstanding, but the overall dining experience was delightful for the special occasion of Valentines Day. I would certainly return again, and am glad we chose Casa."

  • "This was the worst dining experience of my life. When we got there we were ignored as the "manager" and bartender were Busy yelling at each other. Once we finally sat down to dinner, the menu for two actually consisted of just barely enough food for one person of mediocre quality and at twice the price. On top of that we are continuously ignored throughout the night except by one waitress and it took forever to get our food. And at the end of the night they gave us a dessert tray which consisted of one slice of cake for two people. We were very surprised that after all of that we got our bill only to find out they had surcharged us $75 for the terrible service. Do not come here this is a huge waste of money you will regret it."

  • "The place was very romantic. The $60 fix price was just okay, though. Portions were on the smaller side. Dessert was super small. I'd pay $45 for what I got. Overall, you are paying for the experience (belly dancers, tent, décor)."

  • "Great at 6PM before a lot of people came and the music really started to blare. Then too noisy, at least for us older folks."

  • "Waited 25min for a waiter, had to complain to the manager. Asked for the check, had to wait 30min until we found another manager. Horrible service, my date was embarrassed that he picked the place."

  • "After not having been for 3 years I decided I wanted to have my intimate birthday dinner there - I just remembered the vibrant Moroccan decor. The food (and service) were incredible. Definitely try the lambchops! I want to go back every day, and I live in the west village where there are amazing restaurants on every block."

  • "I took my husband here for his 36th birthday. I came here last sumner for a private bridal shower event. The food was delicious and I enjoyed the ambiance. My husband and I are very low key and don't go out that much because we have two small children. Hubby enjoyed it all. It was a good way to spend our evening out we ended up spending $200 which included the tip. By the way there is a nearby parking garage which made life so easy!!!"

  • "Dined for a special occasion. Fantastic culinary creations served with smiles and professionalism, by staff who are very knowledgeable about the food and traditions of this style of cuisine. Definitely recommend the seating "inside the tent"! The belly dancer was amazing and even involved a few of the patrons in the show, inviting them to dance alongside periodically throughout the routine."

  • "GREAT FOOD, GREAT AMBIANCE, GREAT BELLY DANCER, ALWAYS GREAT, GREAT, GREAT...THE MOST ROMANTIC RESTERAUNT IN NYC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • "Like most Middle Eastern restaurants in New York, Casa La Femme tries to hard to be different, hip, and cool and forgets to focus on the basics. As a result, the experience is mediocre at best. The place is well decorated, but the music is too loud. The wait staff speaks no Arabic, which makes ordering very difficult since the whole menu is in Arabic. This was very frustrating and it did lead to the waitress messing up my order. The food is good, but the portions are small and everything was too spicy (Egyptian food is not spicy). For the amount of food we got, the roughly $60 a person price is a rip off (no alcohol). There was a belly dancer. She was actually quite good by my standards. It was okay, but I'm not going back."

  • "My husband and I just celebrated our anniversary by having a delicious dinner in a tented table at Casa La Femme. We were treated like royalty. The ambience alone was worth the price, and our food was excellent! We'll go again, and next time we'll take friends!"

  • "Amazing food and great for special occasison. Just be prepared that the place is pretty expensive. It is worth the price but nevetheless steep in its price. So be prepared not to fall of the chair if you have good and drinks!"

  • "had party there service was a bit slow we had pre fix so most of the time table was empty and for a party it was a bit odd. but experience was great i would recommend visiting at least once"

  • "As nice as this place is, I am disappointed by the fact the staff insisted the dancer would come to the main level and perform. Sorry, but simply not the case. I had to stand behind people on the top level, and thank god I did or I would have missed EVERYTHING. While the food is good, they don't give you enough. Pretty plates, leaving you wanting more, probably cause they are serving you a fraction of what they should be. Oh, and the waiter brought us another couples meal. If they are going to charge they way they do, I'd expect a little more."

  • "I my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday. We had a great time, nice romantic place. Looks like it would also be good for groups. Good wine, good music. The food was not blow you away food but was fresh and good. There was a belly dancer but she started a little late and the place is big for just one dancer. She was very good and made it fun. I have already told friends they should check it out."

  • "Ridiculously expensive for what we got. We asked for flat water assuming we would not be charged for tap water - wrong, $8 for water. We ordered a trio of dips, which we $8 each for about 2 tablespoons. The place gets really loud as well. The service was good, but I will definitely not be coming here again. For what we got, it wasn't worth over $100/head."

  • "I went for a girls' night out, and we had a great experience from start to finish. Even beforehand, I was immediately impressed with the service when I called with a question about my reservation. The design and decor of both the restaurant and bar/lounge was spectacular. We sat at a tented table, which had an exotic vibe and enough privacy for candid girl talk. The service was very friendly, accommodating, attentive, and we never felt rushed. We ordered from the prix-fixe menu, and everything was delicious! Some of the portions appeared small but were deceptively filling. The homemade sesame pita and dips were amazing, and the cocktails were creative and yummy. A bellydancer performed partway through the meal, which was a cool touch."

  • "i was hesitant after reading about slow service problems, but we found all aspects of our evening to be perfect. short stay at the bar as table tent was prepared, accommodating and attentive waitress, not rushed yet well timed course delivery. my wife thought the grilled bronzini was 'unbelievable' and my vegetable tagine was very flavorful.....the privacy of our tent table added to the romance of the evening and we will definitely return!"

  • "I took my boyfriend here for our second date. I was so nervous and wanted everything to be perfect. We were greeted right away by a beautiful young lady and seated at the bar until our table was ready with a big smile. He was so impressed by the decor and the ambience. I have been there before and you feel like your in a different world. We were seated at a romantic canopy table. He was very happy with his meal from the hummus to the crab cakes to the chicken entree. I just love the lamb chops! I am so happy he enjoyed my favorite restaurant and happy to share this with him. The belly dancer was an added bonus! We look forward to returning to our favorite restaurant shortly."

  • "The ambience was great. It was a bit dark inside but the place is lovely. Its a great place to celebrate an occasion or even for a party of 2 where you can sit in the tables set for two and have the curtains closed to make it more romantic. I was there for my birthday. The big issue that we had was the lack of service. We were seated at 9:30 but did not get drinks or appetizers till around 10:30 and entrees until 11:40. Very Very Very poor service. At least if the drinks came fast you wouldn't notice as much but we ordered a pitcher of sangria and it took about 40 mins to come. Overall, I would prob go there again but maybe not on a Sat and with a smaller party, maybe a date night or something."
