  • Casa d'Angelo is hands down
    OpenTable Diner Since 2004VIP
    Dined on 11/1/2009
Casa d'Angelo is hands down our favorite Italian restaurant in the Broward-Palm Beach County area. Pricey, but really worth the extra $. My husband and I recently enjoyed shared appetizers of beef short rib ravioli toppped with a fig and port wine sauce, and also burratta (a homemade silky soft white cheese) with a salad of arugula, Gaeta olives, and roasted peppers. We had the bucatini amatriciana, then finished with two desserts: the apple tart with homemade cinnamon ice cream, and the molten chocolate cake with vailla ice cream. Perfect food and service from start to finish!

food and service wonderful. Noise level is unacceptable. They need to do something with ceiling and or area rugs to lower the level. I would go back but a table for more than 4 would be impossible to hear other people speak. Could be romantic except for the noise level. Boca is known for high noise level in restaurants, but I think as people are more careful with their dining dollars, this may be a turn off for many people.

Casa D'Angelo is an outstanding restaurant. It is one of our favorites. When we arrived, the server we had last time, Aba, was to be our server this time. She knew already what we like to eat there and told the host that we need not need menus -- she was correct. We had our favorites -- the Casa D'Angelo salad and lasagna, the best ever. We had planned to also have a tiramisu as it is great there but we were too full so we have decided next time to have half of it and take the rest home. We were thrilled because the chef came out and we could personally thank him. Aba provided outstanding service. We recommend this restaurant highly. Virginia and Maurice

It was OUTSTANDING. Our server was Aba, from Italy, and she was great. Some other servers we have had in the past stopped by, and we met the great chef when we were leaving the restaurant. It is the best lasagna and tiramisu in South Florida. We cannot wait to return.

We had two pasta dishes. The rigatoni with sausage was excellent. The fettucine with veal ragu was watery, and mushy, although the pasta was al dente. The fantasia salad is excellent and large enough to share, in fact too large for one. Overall the dining experience was very good, with a very large menu selection.

WE HAVE DINED HERE BEFORE BUT ALWAYS LATER WHEN IT WAS QUITE NOISY AND YOU HAD TO WAIT FOR YOUR TABLE. WE ARRIVED AT 5:30 AND FOUND THE RESTAURANT QUIETER AND LESS HECTIC. WE HAD DIFFICULTY DECIDING ON WHAT TO ORDER. BESIDES A GREAT REGULAR MENU THERE WERE 24 SPECIALS THAT EVENING. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS, THE PRESENTATION WAS GREAT AND THE SERVICE WAS IMPECCABLE. OUR FAMILY TRULY ENJOYED THE MEAL AND WILL DEFINITELY DINE THERE AGAIN ON OUR NEXT TRIP TO BOCA RATON NEXT MONTH.

Loving to cook myself I attended a cooking school in Ft. Lauderdale in 2008. The chef/owner of the school told us about Chef D'Angelo as he is a guest chef on occassions at the school so for my wife's birthday I wanted to take her to a special place. Upon our arrival we were seated and promptly greated by our server, Michael. The atomsphere is very contemporary and comfortable. The attention to detail perfect and the service we received was fabulous. We had reviewed the menu and wine list online but I still asked Michael for a recommendation reqarding the Italian wines available, he made a perfect selection for us. The food was incredible, exactly what I expected. Treat yourself and dine here, you'll love it.

The food was delicious, but the waiter had an attitude that we did not appreciate. The service was rushed until we asked the waiter to please slow it down. Neither the host, hostess, or our waiter came to ask how everything was, even though they all went by our table several times. The bus girl started to clear our table while my husband was signing the check. At those prices, we expected more.

The food was excellent. The service was perfunctory and inattentive. I felt that because we were not regulars, they didn't care about us. Once the order was taken, no one seemed interested in refilling water glasses, asking whether we needed anything, etc. I would give the restaurant one more try because the food was very good, however, there are many other restaurants in the area, and if I have another negative experience, I'm finished.

It was our second time to Casa D'Angelo. It was outstanding. We thought the food and the service were great. We liked it better than our first time there as we liked where we were sitting better. Everyone was extremely pleasant. We did not feel rushed but we also did not have to wait long for the next course. We are so fortunate to have this restaurant in our area. We have already recommended it to some friends, and we look forward to returning. Please share my comments with the restaurant; you may use my name -- Virginia Levin

It was our first time dining here but it will not be our last because it was outstanding! We loved it. My husband ordered a D'Angelo salad. It was delicious; I usually do not like salads but this one was special. We each had lasagne; it was the best we have ever had and we shared a tiramisu for dessert. It was my husband's birthday so the restaurant had Happy Birthday on the tiramisu and serves came over to wish him the best. Te restaurant truly was great. We cannot wait to return.

Just as good as the Fort Lauderdale site. Do not decide what to eat off the menu until you have heard the Many, Many daily specials. It's a noisy room so listen closely. You do not want to have to ask the waiter to repeat. The wine list is very good, and carries hefty prices. I brought my own wine and paid the corkage of $35 (it will be waived if the table buys drinks or orders another bottle).

Set in the old Luna Pazza building, there are a lot of similarities in the ambiance. Unfortunately, many of the similarities end there. While Luna Pazza offered good food at reasonable prices (particularly off season), Casa D'Angelo charges a premium for the ordinary. The price range implies fine Italian food, but the feeling you have when you leave is that you could have whipped up the pasta dishes yourself in a fraction of the time for a fraction of the cost. There is nothing wrong with ordinary gnocchi, there is something wrong with paying $24 for it. The quality of the service matched the food. We could not get a reservation until 8:30, but when we got there the dinner room appeared to be abandoned. The server's lack of knowledge c
