The desert was very good, not overly sweet. there was a bit of bread crumbs one side of the chair when we were seated as mentioned by my special friend. My chair was ok.   • "We decided to try Richmond restaurants this year for Dine Out Vancouver. Carver's was high on our list as we both love steak. It certainly did not disappoint! The creamy soup starter and creamy dessert were perfect book ends to the delicious hint-of-teriyaki steak. The staff were fabulous: too many to keep track of, but our server was always there to make sure our experience was positive and fulfilling. Great night!"

  • "2nd dineout experience of the year 2014! Ordered the steak bites for appie. Was a bit too sweet for my taste but the meat was tender! Halibut was good but a tiny bit dry. LOVE THE QUINOA SALAD and best mashed potato I have tasted so far (stole a few bites from my sis in law). Dessert was not my thing but overall enjoyed my dining experience. Really liked our waitress. Made us felt really welcomed :)"

  • "The ambience of the restaurant was nice for an anniversary, it was very sweet and romantic. However for being a fine dining restaurant the service was extremely slow and I would guess that they were understaffed for a Friday night. We asked for more bread about 5 times, not exaggerating! Also the food was mediocre. We also found it odd that the restaurant would not offer their original menu because none of the items on the dineout menu seemed good and we were willing to pay more for the regular menu."

  • "we were there for dine out Vancouver for their $38 menu, although they do offer a wide range of selections, the food are really not worth the money. the beef bites for appetizer tasted like pan fried beef from food court; bone marrow was small and tasteless; seafood chowder was average and could have more seafood in it. most of us ordered their steaks for main and you can easily get a better one from price smart or Superstore, the fries on the side were totally Macdonald fries while they said it's "shoe string fries" on the menu; halibut was fair; duck was not surprising. dessert tasted like cakes that you would get from a casino buffet...... overall, we (8 of us) were all disappointed by their food....."

  • "Reading reviews gave me the impression that this would be a great meal. The food was decent but nothing spectacular. The servers were nice but we waited for every course at least 20 minutes. It wasn't busy at all for the first 2 courses of our meal. I looked at the regular menu after and found that this restaurant gives a similar deal price for all entrees with appetizer and dessert. Given this info, I don't see what the incentive would be to come during Dine Out Vancouver. There are many more choices on the regular menu. I could've gotten a filet mignon rather than a overly salty teriyaki sauce NY steak for a few dollars more."

  • "My first stop for Dine out Vancouver Carver serves dine out menu only during this period which is quite nice appetizers are okay, didn't surprise me very much. However, the entrees are lovely especially the duck breast. Desserts are nice too, very rich and satisfied. Overall, the dine out Van at Carver was a wonderful experience."

  • "Even though the food was good I found the table seating to be unacceptable as we were located behind a couple of pillars in the back of the restaurant. The servers had to reach across the table to serve my meal and all that were seated on the bench style near the window, I found it difficult to converse with my guests and as we all paid a premium price for this special occasion I was disappointed at the seating. The restaurant was not crowded and I felt we could have had a much better table. I doubt that I wouold recommend the restaurant again, Also I made this reservation in plenty of time for you to accomodate my party. Madalon McCormack"

  • "Great service and good food presentation. Sadly, the prime rib was a disappointment. We shall give it one more try before writing their prime rib off our list. Lamb burger was perfect as was their Beef Carpaccio. Rib Eye Steak was good but a little thin compared to what we are accustomed to in other establishments. Again we appreciated the great service."

  • "Service was good. The waitresses are patience and very willing in explaining their dishes. The steak is the best - it is a steak house after all! My party also order a fish dish with pasta, the pasta was delicious. I also like their desserts. The Lamb shank was delicious but the portion is a bit small, more suitable for ladies. I really enjoyed the Duo of Chi and Vanilla Creme Brulee. Will definitely come back for more good delicious good."
