  • "My Boyfriend loves ribs and I prefer steak so of course researching restaurants ribs was the preference but this worked out great for both of us. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive the whole evening, he even recognized my Boyfriend's birthday with a sundae at the end of the meal. The food was great, and if we weren't from out of town we both joked we would have found a way to bring the food home with us. It's a place that I will definitely visit again when I'm in town."

Presented well with the double baked potatoes. I am very impressed. The atmosphere was open, dark, the pictures on the wall are classic too. Go. Have some ribs."

  • "My husband and I dine at Carson's often. It is a very friendly restaurant, starting with the valet parkers, the host staff, and, of course, our favorite waitress, JoJo. We have several favorites on the menu but last night we enjoyed the Greek chicken and also discovered the chocolate cake ala mode -- absolutely delicious. We had a lovely time and will be going back again soon."

  • "This place was amazing. My wife and I did a yelp search for places to eat in Chicago since we were vacationing from Boston for St. Patty's Day 2014. Pork chops were awesome. Ribs were tasty. The famous Au Gratin potatoes were exactly famous for blowing your mind. Drinks are perfectly made. We will be going back the next time we are in Chicago. Until then we will be bragging to our friends."

The food was magnificent and the drink selection was exceptional. Reservations are highly recommended as wait times could be up to 90 minutes."

  • "We arrived for a 6:00 Saturday evening reservation at 6:00 and were checked in and asked to wit for approx. 20- minutes. Not good since we planned to see a show at 8:00. i finally asked if there was room at the bar and then they started to appear to notice a table would be appropriate. That aside, the table service provided by JoJo was outstanding and the RIBS are definitely the star of the show. i would heartily recommend."

I wish the Men's restroom would have hot water as washing my hands and rinsing my mouth in a cold bathroom, using cold water was not easy after eating the bbq. That may be the reason why they provide you with a warm towel at your table."

  • "The old fashioned feel is still there.The cocktails are tasty and not trendy such as the Old Fashioned. The salads are generous and quite good like the Cesar and the beet salad. The full slab unfortunately tasted a little old. It was disappointing after a promising start. The sides of Greek potatoes and the au gratin (amazingly cheesy and tasty) was a good suggestion by our friendly server. The wine list had some unusually good reds that should match the big meats on offer. The wine pricing was fair. The disappointment was easier to take since we used a Groupon that improved the value proposition."

  • "Been coming to Carson's for many, many years. We truly miss our northside Carson's but feel it is worth the trek downtown to get our ribs fix. We brought out-of-town friends who are part-owners in a Dallas BBQ place and they found the ribs, while different from Texas dry rub ribs, to be excellent. We insisted they try the potatoes au gratin and of course they loved them as do we. We also really like the cole slaw. Vegetable substitutions for potatoes are available. The blackened salmon salad was wonderful and the drinks are a heavy pour. Top end bourbons are available and the wines by the glass are just fine."

  • "Perhaps a Saturday night after Valentine's Day was not a good time to attend your restaurant. The drinks were fine, the appetizers were great, but the food lacked luster. The ribs were not at all good, they taste greasy and seem to have been sitting. My mate did not like the pork chops, he thought they were burnt, but I liked them. The cold slaw, liver pate and Greek potatoes were alright. I would only recommend your restaurant for drinks and appetizers only. The place was overbooked and we had reservations, but still had to wait. You have no place to wait if you get there 1/2 hour early and the seats for waiting are all full. I seem to remember your restaurant being larger. Well, it had been a long time. I was not impressed."

  • "I use to go to Carson's ever year for my Birthday. Then, we started going to places in the suburbs that were more convenient. The food was not very good and for the price, we figured we need to go back downtown. This year, my daughter and granddaughter joined us and they enjoyed their food so much. I'm glad it was a great experience for them. They can't wait to go back to Carson's..."

  • "Why go to Carson's to eat? Most people would say for the bbq. Their bbq is great...ribs, chicken, and pork chops. What you may not know is that Carson's steaks are as good, if not better than, the famous steak house steaks. Aged beef, with a char crust, cooked to perfection. Skip the delicious bbq next time and try the steak. You will not be disappointed!"

  • "When we go into the city of Chicago we usually spend the entire day. We end our day with dinner. I've wanted to go to Carson Ribs for a while, I was not disappointed. The food was excellent. The server was polite, friendly and very knowledgeable. The portions were large and tasty. We did have any alcoholic drinks but the list was extensive. Our bill was just over $100.00 for three adults. I will be recommending this as a place to eat."

  • "We had not been to Carson's in years. It was almost unrecognizable. However, the remodeling was beautiful. It was dark and romantic. We were able to sit by the fire place, whichvwas a plus! The glow from the fireplace was what filled the room with light and candles onbthe table. Let's just say the ambiance was incredible! Our waitress was okay but had a stone deameanor. Everything thing was all business not really friendly. The food was okay. The side selections were not that greatt, which is very important in to a meal."

  • "I went wIth a friend who she and I shared each course. First the Mediterranean shrimp with grilled veggies and shrimp dejonge both perfect. Next the salads, beets with candied walnuts on Bibb lettuce and perfect Caesar salad. Finally perfectly prepared NY and filet mignon with grilled mushrooms and double baked potato and au gratin potatoes. The bartender Dino was very helpful and entertaining."

  • "We had a party of four on a Saturday evening, during Chicago restaurant week. We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation, and we probably had a new server. We each had an appetizer, salad, and entree with potato. The Mediterranean shrimp app was amazing, and we got the filet sliders. Unfortunately, the filet sliders weren't even warm, they were cold. But when the server finally made it back over, we indicated such and she brought a replacement about ten minutes later. Beet and Walnut salad is something I would go back there for specifically, decently sized portion and absolutely delicious. The 10oz filets were good, but none of us would go back there for them. Rack of ribs was cooked perfectly, with extra sauce on the side."
