Carrol's Creek CafeExcellent find!We were visiting Annapolis for Mother's Day weekend and looking for waterfront dining options for seafood(my love for crab cakes!). We found Carrol's creek on Tripadvisor and we loved it. It is right on the waterfront and we had a table by the window overlooking the marina. Food was excellent, our favorites were the Cream of Crab soup and the crab cakes. It is expensive but we knew it was a fine dining restaurant. Great ambience and they have a lounge if you arrive early or just want to have drinks and appetizers.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day ChoiceLovely, festive atmosphere for a special day. Very busy, to be expected. Service was attentive and smooth. The food was not up to this fine restaurant's standards. We go to Carol's Creek for specific menu items, i.e. the cream of crab soup and the rockfish entree. Though each was well prepared and delicious, the kitchen must have been running out of lump crab. The signature soup lacked any...and the rockfish, which is supposed to be topped with lump crab....had a meager sprinkling of light flakes instead.
Yes, it was MOTHER'S DAY and it was very busy......you could forgive this.
and we did.
still had a lovely time.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dinner with a great viewWhat a wonderful place to dine! Right at the Marina in Annapolis with plenty of cool boats & water in plain view, the food was very good & the service was even better. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our party of six on "Mother's Day" of all days. I highly recommend this Restaurant.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a delightful experienceWe had a delightful experience and enjoyed the food. The service was excellent. The flourless chocolate cake for dessert was incredible.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely lunch Just too noisyThis has always been a favorite of mine but lately it is just too noisy. Even at lunch the combination of low ceilings and impervious surfaces makes it too nosiy for easy conversation.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA great experienceOverall the experience at Carole's Creek was great. The waiter was very good, explained the menu and made recommendations. Was attentive and personable. The food was delicious and the noise level made conversation easy. I love going there.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our FavsAlways a nice place to eat. Great views of Annapolis waterfront.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were seated right awayWe were seated right away at a window table with a wonderful view. I believe we waited about 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged and another 5 minutes before our server came to the table. Our reservation was at 3p, it wasn't busy at all. Our server was great and so was the food. That compensated for the wait time. I recommend the rockfish and filet mignon. Both excellent dishes!!!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMworthyA lovely place to spend a warm afternoon lunching indoors with a view of Spa Creek or outside on Spa Creek. Also, great for Happy Hour treats at reasonable prices in a very upscale bar.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful dinner to entertainDelightful dinner to entertain out-of-town guests. Everyone was delighted with the food, the ambiance, the setting, and the evening as a whole. Thanks Carrol's Creek; well done.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was tasty but notThe food was tasty but not hot enough for 2 of our party. I had the crab soup which definitely should have been hotter and a bit more crab would have been appreciated, and a friend had the crab platter which had the same problem. The prices are a little high but we were expecting that from previous occasions. Service was attentive. Overall the experience was not the most satisfying which was disappointing as it was a birthday celebration.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was delicious and theFood was delicious and the atmosphere/view awesome. Sunday brunch was very efficiently set up and executed. Staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Bridge to ProsperityI have traveled to Annapolis, several times. However, I never ventured across the bridge from the old town section. Unfortunately, I had no idea the was another completely different world of restaurants on the other side! A friend referred me to Carrol's Creek Cafe, and I had an early Sunday dinner at there. First, I was impressed by it's location (..right on the dock, overlooking the boats and the water). Second, I appreciated the congeniality, and professionalism of the entire staff (..I felt like a visiting diplomat). Third, I was very surprised at the quality, and preparation of the food. It definitely rivaled more expensive restaurants I've patronized. I'm definitely returning.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMBoth diners agreed the specialBoth diners agreed the special was the best meal of our lives.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat seafood meal!It was my boyfriend's birthday. He said it was everything he wanted! We had the Tuna Tartare and Raw Oysters as an appetizer. He had a seafood dish off the menu and I had a surf and turf special. Even the "free" birthday dessert was awesome. The service was outstanding.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWent with husband, great service.Went with husband, great service. Enjoyed the Red Snapper w/ crabcake and avacado, he had a ribeye. Everything was well prepared and we very much enjoyed the ambiance. The brunch selection was extensive and satisfied even the picky people. We celebrated our father's birthday and every one was pleased!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMStill Number One!Carroll's Creek is always wonderful! Outstanding food, fantastic service and the bonus of waterview make it the best restaurant in Annapolis. When you go to Carroll's Creek you know you are going to have a fantastic dining experience, and it never disappoints. It is our favorite restaurant!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious, but priceyCarol's Creek Cafe overall is a great restaurant. The ambiance was a little dated and reminded of a snooty country club, but then again considering it's in a downtown Annapolis marina, I wouldn't expect much less. The prices were very high, $5 for a an iced tea...but the food was delicious and well presented. They actually had a fair draft list as well and of course a lengthy wine menu. Situated at the marina and right on the water, it's a beautiful view. Go when you feel like spending $30 a head on a lunch.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMOur food was wonderful. TwoOur food was wonderful. Two of our group had delicious Halibut, but one guest was a vegetarian. The risotto was an unexpected pleasure in the heart of surf and turf country. It was a true entree, served in a perfectly cooked acorn squash topped with a beautiful portobello mushroom cap. It was wonderful to find an alternative that showed care and respect for vegetarian cuisine. Bravo!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great meal of crabWe had a great meal of crab cakes at Carrol's Creek. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the view of Annapolis. I highly recommend.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, dinner was delightful. As always, dinner was delightful. The food was outstanding, freshly prepared, and attractive.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a wonderful evening, excellentHad a wonderful evening, excellent food, relaxed and not rushed.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent butThe food was excellent but the service suffered a bit, perhaps due to shift change. The table needed to be set and the initial table service was a bit hurried. The noise level was a bit loud. As our meal progressed, things began to settle as the transition was made from lunch to dinner. We ended the meal with a different wait staff than we began.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMCrabcakes were Extraordinary!!!I had a lovely late night dinner, was by myself and was seated in a wonderful location with a view of the marina. Waiter was very attentive. There were two people at the front desk. One was a young lady who was bubbly and peppy and made me feel welcome right away. The food and wine were absolutely perfect. I will return.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AM1st time visit. Pleasantly1st time visit. Pleasantly surprised. Nice decor and great food. Although a mid-week reservation, the kitchen was slow filling orders due to an unexpoected large crowd. Wait staff did an great job compensating.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time here and it isFirst time here and it is definitely a place I'll be going back to. I have an elderly Nanny who has Dementia and the waiter from the start was so patient and calm w/ her when others have always rushed us through. The food was amazing and it was a perfect Family Sunday Supper. Thanks!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOustanding waterfront restaurantOutstanding views, fantastic Sunday morning brunch, perfect blend of comfort and elegance, with outstanding views of the downtown Annapolis waterfront all around. Great food, outstanding service, highly recommended.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI have dined there for lunchI have dined there for lunch on several occasions, and found the seafood to be fresh and tasty. The view of Annapolis Harbor is great. Service tends to be a bit slow; they need more waiters.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMBest rockfish preparationBest rockfish preparation in Annapolis! Beautiful setting. Meal was well-paced and nicely presented.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is reliably excellentThe food is reliably excellent here. Three of us had superb crab cakes and the fourth had a just-right piece of salmon. Accompanying vegetables were excellent. The house salad was scrumptious. There is a well-priced ,diverse wine list in both red and white. I think anyone can find his or her choice in wines at any reasonable price point. Service was outstanding. Our waiter knew when to approach and when to stay away. We skipped dessert but the list is mouthwatering. This is our favorite Annapolis restaurant!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe come here fairly often. We come here fairly often. Their food is always good, service usually outstanding. All dishes plus dessert were very tasty, nice portions also.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was quite good. PortionsFood was quite good. Portions are a little small amd prices can run your bill up. I had the surf & surf & turf(lobster tail(4oz), crab cake 4oz, and filet minon 6 oz)which was $55. I consider $140 for two people a lot. It is a nice restaurant, though.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, great serviceExcellent food, great service and wonderful ambience. Will retune when the weather warms out to enjoy outdoors air and views.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
