Diner Reviews
  • "We went to celebrate a birthday and were not disappointed in Carrol's Creeks' ability to make this a special occasion. Our service was prompt and friendly from the moment we entered the restaurant. The guest with the birthday was afforded a lovely view of the Annapolis harbor. The menu offers a great variety of small plates and entrees for seafood and non-seafood lovers alike. We tried one of the lobster specials along with the rock fish filet from the regular menu. Both were expertly prepared and we would order them again when we go back. We got the extra bonus of half-price-bottle of wine night on Tuesday."

  • "Can't go wrong choosing the rockfish over risotto. Also, the no flour chocolate cake was delicious."

  • "Slow service from the kitchen and the food was just good when it came out. I've heard that it's much better usually. The waiter was overly apologetic about the situation which sort of helped."

  • "A perfect location in Annapolis overlooking the water. The food and service are always top notch. We had the rockfish which was a delight and the portion was large enough to share. The staff is friendly and service oriented. You won't be disappointed by this restaurant."

  • "Your buffet was the best; why change that? We were all disappointed. Not even a tiny raspberry tart."

  • "Wish this was in our neighbourhood! Our waitress was outstanding - my dietary issue of being wheat free was dealt with in a very stress free way and substitutions made without fuss. The views are outstanding and the fish on offer, incredible. The dessert wine with the amazingly softly textured flour less chocolate dessert just finished off an evening that could quite frankly have gone on a lot longer for my liking! We'd definitely eat here again if we had the good fortune to visit Annapolis again; we traveled from the other side of the world (NZ where we appreciate great food) and found a real gem of a place."

  • "Four our us had dinner at Carroll's Creek, three different meals, each cooked to perfection. The food was wonderful. But even more memorable was the friendly and knowledgeable service from the minute we walked through the door. Our server seemed to materialize at our table, intuitively, when we needed her, and she was friendly enough to talk about things other than the meal without being intrusive. We would go back to Carroll's Creek just for the great food; but our server put the whole experience over the top for us. I'm embarrassed that I don't remember her name."

  • "Was our first time visiting and we willl again. The crab cakes were delicious and the cream of crab soup was best i've had on the east coast. The happy anniv. card was a nice litle touch. Thanks for helping make our 27 th anniversary a wonderful day."

  • "We had a 7:15 reservation, left work a little early from DC, made it home by 6:30 and thought we are timing this just right - well we didn't make it to the restaurant until 9:00pm, Annapolis was completely jammed. But we persevered and we were served a dinner fit for the King's court, not too many people left in the restaurant and you could hear yourself talk; it was wonderful. Our waiter was outstanding, gave us a tutorial in making the CC salad for two, we order it every time we go. The Chilean sea bass was thick, moist, and perfectly cooked. The crab cakes had lump meat and were not overfilled with binders, the lobster-sweet and succulent. All in all, we heard many gave up on their reservations and returned home, I'm glad we didn't."

  • "Before this dinner, we had a private party for 132 people and Carrols Creek was absolutely perfect in every aspect. The food was perfect for every guest, service and staff fantastic, courteous, everything. The restaurant was ours and we couldn't have been more pleased. That quality carried over into our dinner (four of us) that we booked through open table."

  • "I had not visited Carrol's Creek cafe in 15-20 years. What a wonderful, delicious surprise. the lunch special--salad with sauteed calimari was spectacular. Others in the group enjoyed crab cakes and fish."

  • "Reservation on a Saturday night.Spouse had Rockfish(excellent portion size & taste) & I had the 'full' meal w/a New York Strip. For $17, Includes their Cream of Crab soup, salad & dessert. The soup was not as good as it once was - thick & few small bits of crabmeat & no sherry to help cut the thickness. I asked the waitress who said they serve the sherry on request.Note to wait staff: offer the sherry WHEN the soup is ordered & not expect the diner to know.Salad was very good-enough to split. The steak was cooked to perfection & the sides were tasty.Could only eat 1/2(yes, it is that rich!).Dessert was flourless chocolate cake - decadent. All in all, a good experience.Note to self:get the Caesar Salad-100% authentic & prepared tableside $16."

  • "After running a 5K in the rain, the respite at CCC was great! Delicious bloody marys' and wine complemented the food nicely. We tried a variety including some of the largest oysters on the half shell we have ever seen. Shrimp salad. salmon and cioppino were all delish. The Greek seafood salad was delightfully fresh and plentiful. Can't wait to try it for dinner."

  • "Carroll's Creek has been my favorite restaurant in Annnapolis for years and last Saturday's experience lived up to my expectations. They have extended the small plates menu, always a superb part of their offerings. The cream of crab soup continues to be the BEST--rich and filled with backfin crab meat, etc, etc. Everything we ordered was grand; our waitress could not have been more pleasing or accommodating."

  • "Great food, great service, great wine, great views, in the heart of Annapolis. It was a very pleasant dining experience."

  • "One of several classic American cuisine restaurants in Annapolis. We weren't very impressed, especially after reading the rave reviews on yelp. Nothing special about the menu items - typical dishes found in most restaurants in Annapolis. Aside from the crab cakes, which contained big pieces of lump crab, everything else was mediocre. The pear salad came with a big log of blue cheese. Not very convenient for the diner nor was it aesthetically pleasing. Texas BBQ shrimp - Huge shrimp but the BBQ sauce tasted store-bought. Maybe I'm just bored with the Annapolis restaurant scene. May come back in the summertime to enjoy a drink on the patio but that would be the only reason I would come back."

  • "Received gift card as present for Carroll's Creek so, I decided to give it a try.It is truly a hidden gem.The dining and patio (not the bar area)have great views which allows one to see the sailboats dock or pass through. We got the chance to see the drawbridge open for the passage of sailboats, because of their tall sails and antennas. The prices are comfortable for a small party of family or friends, for special occasions or a night out.The crowd was a mix of baby boomers or their parents ,yet I did not feel out of place.I do not recall if music was playing because my party was able to converse without screaming at one another. Most, importantly the restrooms were clean.I will make this my go to place when guests are in town"

  • "Although the food was good, I felt that the cost was on the pricey side - decent serving sizes, but not overly generous for the price. My "bowl" of crab soup was delicious, but wanted more! The scallops in the appetizer were huge, but the salad was mostly spinach and not much else. The special sounded great until they said that the vegetable served with it was brussel sprouts. YUCK! Couldn't they offer a choice of veggies?"

  • "This restaurant has it all - good food, great service, and the perfect location to take in the sights of downtown Annapolis and Spa Creek. It's a bit pricey but not for what you're getting. It's the perfect spot for a romantic night out or a special occasion."

  • "Carrol's Creek is a great place to go when you want to pamper yourself: creative menu, consistently excellent food with delightful presentation, good wine list, attentive servers, easy and free parking... And in season, their deck overlooking Spa Creek, a marina and Annapolis can't be beat!"

  • "We went to Carols Creek on a very busy Sunday evening. Even with all the people the restaurant manages to provide good service and delicious food. We had started with the mussels and then the rock fish and cioppino. All were delicious and the presentation was beautiful. I find this restaurant to always be above par and service to be what one expects from a better restaurant."

  • "Carrol's Creek is nice restaurant located on the water across from "downtown" Annapolis. You are surrounded by sail boats. The view is great, but the food is better. We couldn't commit to an entree so we went with our small plates dinner style. There were many to choose from ranging from tuna tartare and baked oysters (seafood) to beef empanadas and baked brie. the menu noted their specialties, which you couldn't go wrong ordering. The Cream of Crab soup is really as good as they say. Crab cake was lumps of meat, no filler. the mixed drinks were good. Save room for dessert, the ice cream is local made and yummy! Parking on site but lot is tight to get around."

  • "After having lived here for over two years, I finally tried Carrol's Creek Cafe for a special occasion. So worth it. The service was the finest I've had on the East Coast thus far. Creative and jaw-droppingly awesome cuisine; I can honestly say that this is the best restaurant I have experienced to date here in Annapolis. Places like The Boathouse and the ever-popular Chart House are always good, but Carrol's Creek takes the cake. For an extra special treat, try the lavender creme brulee."

  • "I was looking for a very nice brunch service to celebrate a 75th birthday. A friend in the Annapolis area recommended the brunch buffet at Carrol's Creek. I actually dined at this restaurant several years ago for dinner and remembered enjoying it, so I made reservations for 8. During a confirmation phone call the day prior, I was informed that the Sunday buffet was no more and the restaurant would be changing to a full menu brunch. The view, atmosphere, hostess were great. Our waiter was noticeably forgetful and the food just okay. We are not Foodies, but we know a great meal when we have one. Overall mildly disappointed, but quality time with family is hard to find these days. Conversation and ambiance pulled it all together."

  • "Wonderful view with very good food that is just a tick off outstanding. Waiter was attentive and friendly. Cream of crab soup full of crab meat, but could have been slightly warmer; spouse liked his baked oysters. Fish entrees (Mahi, red snapper) were very good, perhaps a tad bland. Flourless chocolate cake is fabulous. Overall our favorite waterfront restaurant in Annapolis.'"
