Came here for a romantic dinner and was not happy with the service or the food will not be returning. This seems like a place for an older more conservative crowd did not feel very welcome.

Our waiter payed almost no attention to us. He gave all other tables bread and came and talked to them numerous times. He came twice, once to get orders and once to give us our drinks. Had to flag him down to get bill. Otherwise great food and awesome outside ambience on the water!!

We celebrated our first anniversary at Carol's Creek Cafe on Saturday night. The table was perfect with a view of the water and the service was excellent. We took our server's recommendations and had the scallop app and the rockfish entree - everything was fabulous! The 'Happy Anniversary' card was such a nice, unexpected touch. Thank you for making the evening so special!

The restaurant listened to my request of a water view table since we were celebrating a special event. We got the best table in the restaurant. The ambiance was great and the food was quite delicious. Everyone was pleased with their meal and the dining experience. I will definitely go back again.

Took four out of towners here on Aug. 16th. It's our go to restaurant to show off the beautiful Annapolis view. The food and service were very good. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly without being overbearing. The soft shell crabs (one of the specials that night) were HUGE. Everyone had something different and it was all delicious. We'll be back.

WOW! To start, we were traveling into Annapolis for a birthday celebration and ended up choosing where to eat based on a locals recommendation. Thank God she told us to come to Carrols b/c it made for the best dinner of both of our lives. The ambiance was great, the host station helped me multiple times get comfortable (whether it was lending me a pair of sunglasses or moving us inside b/c of the heat) they made us truly feel like we weren't inconveniencing them at all. Our waitress Swan was delightful and extremely helpful. Everything from the bread and butter to the entrees and dessert was phenomenal. We will be back VERY OFTEN!

So glad we ignored the few recent negative reviews. We came to celebrate our 29th anniversary & were not disappointed. The food was delicious & the service first-class. As requested, we were seated outside so that we could enjoy the waterview. Service was prompt & courteous. I had the small plate empanadas filled w/beef tenderloin, wild mushrooms, & gouda cheese. Served with guacamole & roasted pepper sauce. Excellent, very tasty. My main dish was the vegetable & mushroom risotto in an acorn squash bowl. Delicious. My wife enjoyed a salad & crab cocktail. We were going to walk off the meal but we were offered complimentary desserts. We shared the flourless chocolate cake, a perfect ending to a perfect dinner.

Very nice water views and the hostess and waitress were pleasant and the service fine. The restaurant's version of oysters Rockefeller were just alright and only 4 to the plate. Steamed clams were streamed to much but perhaps a dozen in the bowl. Breads were not very tasty and another set was asked for which were plain but good. Double lobster tails were well prepared as were the accompanying vegetables. Wine list was fine. The menu offered Chilean sea bass but the filet was thin, salmon and the ever present rockfish filet, a seafood soup and that was about it for sea food. Not bad, not great. Once again a water view restaurant with average food.

Went to Carrol's Creek on a Monday evening with my family - it's a large restaurant and it was almost deserted, apart from a few tables on the deck. I was surprised it was so quiet, yes it's Monday, but in such a hot tourist spot? Initially it didn't feel so welcoming with the family, our kids are on the cusp of not needing it - but no children's menu and no suggestion from the waiter on accommodating them - but... the service was really good from that point, the view from the deck is lovely, nice wine list and the food was excellent. Highlight was the signature dish - herb encrusted rock fish, loved it. The kids chose from the "little plates" menu and they were happy - but I wouldn't recommend for fussy kids. Really enjoyed our evening!

I've been here several times, typically for dinner. This was our first time going for brunch. I was a little disappointed they discontinued their brunch buffet. My daughter ordered the rock fish, which she loved. I ordered an omelet, which was nothing to jump for. The grits were very good! Our waitress was knowledgeable and when she came to our table she was attentive. Outside dining is always the best. However, they should remove the spider webs, daily, before they open. So, if you like dining on the water, this place is for you.

We celebrated my birthday with dinner on the deck; it was a gorgeous evening. The crab salad was light and delicious. The Caesar salad was cold and crisp (note: they do not make it table-side when you sit outside). I had the red snapper, one of my favorite fishes that you don't see often....yummy. The bread pudding was also very tasty, although I would prefer to pour my own sauce over it (the server just dumped the entire bottle of it onto my plate, before I realized what was happening...so of course I was forced to eat it all). :-) We always go to Carrol's Creek for special occasions and with out-of-town guests, and are never disappointed.

My husband and I took a day trip to Annapolis from Frederick so we could enjoy the water/seafood and had heard we MUST try Carrol's Creek Cafe from a couple of different friends. I'm so glad we did! We were seated outside and had a lovely view of Spa Creek and the little bridge. Our waiter showed up immediately and was very attentive and helpful in picking out dishes to try. I had the Sea Scallops appetizer, those little nuggets wrapped in phylo dough nests and served with lardon spinach and crabmeat. Worth the hour trip just for those. The mussels were fresh and grit free and the main course of Rockfish was crispy on the outside, flaky in the middle. Well played, you know your seafood! the ONLY flaw I had was the weak coffee.

My wife and I went to Carrol's Creek on my birthday. We sat outside. Now, granted we were lucky enough to be there on one of the most spectacularly comfortable evenings ever, particularly considering it was in the first week of August when it's normally hot and humid, but better to be lucky than good. Great soup, great meals, wonderful view. All things considered, it was one of my favorite meals of all time. I did not need a reminder of why Carrol's Creek is our all-around favorite restaurant in Annapolis, but this would have done the trick.

It is so nice to try a new place and come away very satisfied. That was our experience at Carrol's Creek. The setting, the food, and the service were all top shelf. Our waiter "J" found that perfect blend of being attentive without being a nag. The red snapper special may have been the best preparation of red snapper that I've ever had. An awesome dining experience. You seldom get great service like this anymore. We chose Carrol's Creek to have a 'farewell' meal for my relatives that were visiting from Scotland. From the moment we walked in we received a friendly greeting and were promptly seated at a table with a fantastic view. Our waitress was very attentive and professional and ensured we had a relaxed and satisfying experience. The food was excellent and plentiful. We loved the flourless cake for dessert too! The results...my relatives were so delighted and talked about how it was a perfect ending to their visit with us. I highly recommend Carrol's Creek for an impressive dinning experience.

I took my wife here on a Saturday night for our anniversary. It took about 15 minutes after we were seated for our waitress to come by. In the meantime, we could overhear the two tables adjacent to ours complaining about how slow the service had been. When we did order, we got the dinner combo which adds crab soup, a house salad, and a dessert to your entree. I asked if I got a wedge salad instead of the house salad, and was told "no substitutions" in a snarky tone. It was frustrating to spend $125 for two and not be able to have such a simple request accommodated. Besides the service, the food was good but overpriced. The view from outside, however, is incredible. I would only go again to get one of their more casual meal options.

My family goes here for almost every special occasion, and most recently I brought my girlfriend here for our 1 year anniversary. The server was awesome, and even went and talked to the bartender for us to help us select from their great craft beer list. The scallops are my favorite thing on the menu, but we tried the mussels and they were a great appetizer, and perfect for sharing. The specials are always amazing; I got a lobster tail with a filet and my girlfriend got the lobster and crab cake. Then for dessert we had the chocolate cake which is to die for!

We first visited Carrol's Creek last October for our wedding anniversary. We were simply overwhelmed by how wonderful everything was. We vowed we would be back in July for our birthdays, which led to this most recent visit. We were worried that perhaps our expectations would be too high this time around. However, we were just as pleased by the food and great atmosphere. Carrol's is definitely our favorite restaurant and we will find many more reasons to make the drive from Germantown, not just for special occasions. A big THANK YOU to your entire staff!

From the time we walked through to door, it was a very special experience. Our hostess was gracious and our waiter was perfect--just the right information and excellent suggestions without over-attending. The scallop appetizers were unsurpassable, and our entrees delectable and perfectly balanced. Desserts were ample but not overwhelming. The food was a work of art, not only in presentation but in taste. We were impressed that the manager came by our table to acknowledge the special occasion we were celebrating.

Nice place to take someone from out of town. Pleasant setting outside right on the water across from downtown Annapolis with a view of the capital building. This was our first time at Carroll's creek. My wife's best friend was visiting from out of town and we went here based on a recommendation from a co-worker. Food was very good. For appetizers both ladies had the Maryland cream of crab soup which they both thought were delicious. I had the beef tenderloin empanadas which were great served with a delicious sauce. All the small plates and entrees were good. Service was good, but a little slow, fortunately we were there for a leisurely meal and it was a beautiful evening, very pleasant for late July. We will be back.

We have dined here several times, and always enjoy the food. It was as good as ever BUT the pace of the meal spoiled the experience. We arrived at 6:15 and didn't have an appetizer until 7pm, and our main dish until 7:40. Also, the salad was dressed when I requested on the side, and came by itself instead of with the empanadas as requested. Tables that arrived after us were being served ahead of us, and being served bread, which we never received or were asked if we wanted. My husband said the french onion soup was the best he ever had and the scallops perfect. I found the cream of crab thick and rather tasteless. The manager did comp dessert, which was appreciated.
