  • "We opted for a few small plates. Burrata, beef skewers, 3-choice charcuterie plate. The Burrata is outstanding. Gooey, fresh tasting and on top they sprinkle a crunchy, salty kind of garlic concoction that is out of this world. A must-try for anyone. The only criticism was the charcuterie plate. The salami slices on 2 of our choices were sliced transparently thin and there were maybe 6 slices of each. For the price, this is disappointing and dissatisfying. The service was fantastic. A knowledgeable young lady who talked about the wine choices like an expert."

  • "Outstanding dining experience for my first visit to Napa Valley. Chef's tacos were good appetizer, but the best was ahead. I had the harissa claypot and the lamb tenderloin was to die for! It was perfectly cooked and just melted in your mouth- wish i had more meat on my plate though :). The couscous with that dish had too much cranberry/dates/raisins for my taste though, but easily fixed by picking those out. My wife had the prawns which were delicious as well. The prawns were more like big shrimp. Our server was very nice and helpful, felt very comfortable with her service."

  • "I took my girlfriend there for her birthday and after 50 minutes seated and only being served cold soup and then waiting another 20 minutes just to get our first course we finally left. It was unbelievable how bad this experience was. I have no idea what happened, but not receiving any food for 50 minutes after ordering was beyond terrible service. When we did receive our soup after 50 minutes, it was ice cold so we thought it was suppose to be that way, but when we asked the waitress she was in shock. She then came back to the table and told us that the chef decided to serve it chilled that day and didn't tell her (even though she stated that when they tasted the soup the day before, it was served warm). It was just a horrible."

  • "I was very excited to try this restaurant from all the great reviews I read. We had great service from waitress. The cheese board was wonderful, although pricey. The house fries were very over-seasoned. I ordered the Filet Mignon Steak Skewers and felt that the blue cheese was simply overpowering. The Ostrich Burger that my husband ordered was just okay. Personally, the food seems over-seasoned for the price of the meal."

  • "We had dinner here before going to a concert and the food was wonderful. We shared an excellent bottle of wine and several little bites. There was no rushing us; the service was great and we had plenty of time to enjoy each course as it came. The short rib tamales were excellent as was everything down to the salad. We don't get to Napa as often as we used to, but it's our "go to" restaurant when we do. Highly recommend."

  • "Carpe Diem has it all. Great location, wonderful decor, excellent wine bar, friendly staff, and super menu. We started out with one of their wine flights, which was a wine lesson in itself: they paired three different pinot noirs, each with a distinct taste. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine and the food. When I ended up ordering a glass of one of the flights I had tasted, the waitress brought me an info card about the winery and explained how they had come to CD recently for a staff event. This place is casual and unpretentious, but the flip-flop shorts-wearing will be sitting next to a table wearing jeans and pearls, and everybody is happy."

  • "The food was excellent--especially the goat cheese dip appetizer. All the foods are rich, though, so you probably won't be able to eat everything you want, which means you'll have to come back! Everyone in Napa recommended the Quack & Cheese, but as it was basically Mac&Cheese w/ duck in it, my husband wasn't too impressed. If you love mac&cheese, though (and duck), I guess it'd be good. Service was great and all the people were friendly. Tables are a little close together, so don't expect much privacy while you're eating/chatting, but we did get to give & receive recommendations from the ladies at the table next to us, who were nice. All in all a nice, romantic place with great food & good wines."

  • "We had a great time at this restaurant sharing a number of tasty offerings. The restaurant was very accommodating about modifying the number of items on a dish to match the number in our party. Really enjoyed everything however the ribeye taco was a standout as was the quack 'n' cheese. Cheese and charcuterie plate was also a stand out. Dining room is tight so you feel very close to the other diners and some tables were actually conversing with each other."

Nick behind bar is solid and had the bar hopping including several of us who gladly began sharing plates with those nearby. Special kudos for the mushroom flatbread, goat cheese dip, and excellent cheese selection ...all with a wide variety of wines to match perfectly. Will definitely come back next time in area. "

  • "this was our second time here and we'll go back for a 3rd. excellent food and service. small plates allow you to try lots of things. don't go there after doing more than 2 wine tastings during the day or you'll be sleepy and not so hungry. we made that mistake the first time. this time we went there our first night there and weren't disappointed."
