Diner Reviews
  • "Great place for after a show at Compass Rose Theater. Very inviting, great salads and excellent bread. Would go again!"

  • "We used open table to make an 11pm dinner reservation here on a Saturday night. (Planning to have dinner after a show at the Compass Rose Theater across the street). Upon arrival, the place seemed empty. Turns out the kitchen closes at 11pm! We made the best of it by ordering 3 appetizers to share (including a namesake carpaccio!) and had a nice evening. We would return for a real dinner again at an earlier hour."

  • "To minimize noise, request a seat on the left, away from the bar. Food was very good and the "mezze" sized plates are sufficient for most people."

  • "Every course was a winner from the bread (mini Sicilian pizza and rosemary rolls) to dessert was among the best we've had in the US or Italy. I wish only they would open a branch in NOVA."

  • "Carpaccio's is consistently superb from the moment you walk in the door until the moment you leave. Great daily specials, wonderfully diverse menu. Everything we tried exceeded expectations. Ask for Kevin and ask Kevin for his recommendations - you can't go wrong. Super convenient and cheap parking just past the hotel valet area (to the left and down to the garage)."

  • "We ate here for a birthday dinner. I love the branzino and every time I have ordered it it has been outstanding. This time was the same. The bread is always fantastic and because it was his birthday they brought out a slice of Tiramisu with a candle. That was delicious and we will surely order that again!!!!"

  • "For our wedding, we had 18 members of our families come to out to Annapolis (where we live) from California and we originally planned on having our dinner at another restaurant in town, but when they bailed two weeks before the date, we began to freak out. We all were staying at the Westin next door and Carpaccio accommodated the large group and we knew they were good from the reviews, but had no idea how amazing this place was. Service was absolutely on point by being super friendly and fast, while the food was to die for. All of our families couldn't believe how amazing Carpaccio was, and we were so relieved to have everything taken care of for us. For a small group, to a large one, Carpaccio will be an amazing experience for you!"

  • "first time dining here. efficient front end- a little flustered when our on-line reservation was not on the list, but gave us a table anyway ( turns out someone had mistakenly counted us as already checked in) . Had a very nice wine selections and not terribly marked up- basic decent chianti was $28/bottle, we had the Mazzai Zisola nero d'avola ) locally $29 in store for $66. food was very well prepared- pizzas are wood fired. we stayed and talked for quite awhile, and although restaurant was full, there was not even the slightest hint of pressure to turn the table over. overall a very satisfying meal with friends."

  • "This was our first time visit and it was excellent. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, the food was excellent and the surroundings were quiet enough that we enjoyed a wonderful conversation with our granddaughter."

  • "Cesar salad dressing was fishy. Marsala sauce had no depth and pasta needed seasoning. EggPlant parm was dry. This was my first time here but have been to other Monte group restaurants where the food is MUCH better."

  • "Carpaccio is like going over to your Great Uncle Vincenzo's place in Philly. If it is daytime, expect the kids to be included and it will be a fun time with lots of laughter and stories and family and great food. If it is evening the youngest kids might not be there, but older, respectful-of-their-elders children will be, and it will be quieter, but with the same stories and great food. Carpaccio fits your mood and occasion because it is about the culture of family, food and love for the experience. When the weather is good you cannot beat the piazza! I go there for business meetings at lunch, family brunches on any Sunday or Easter, and dinner with my wife to remind her why we are still together after all these years."

  • "We really enjoyed our restaurant week meal at Carpaccio. The food was lovely, especially their spicy marina sauce. Our server seemed new, in regards to how well he knew the menu/wine list, but otherwise the service was great - full water glasses, etc. The meal took about 2 hours for 3 courses, but the restaurant was packed (I'd suggest reservations, they were turning people away). The wine list is mediocre, especially in regards to domestics, and I felt it was a bit overpriced. Overall Carpaccio was a pleasant surprise, we will be back."

  • "the food here is always excellent and theyy have a good selection of wine and drinks. The menu was changed since my last meal there over a year ago and was missing some of the pasta dishes I loved. We visited during restaurant week, and it was very crowded, nonetheless we still were seated within 15 mins of our reservation. The service is usually really good, but this time our waiter kept forgetting things and was not as attentive as our previous visits."

  • "Absolutely an enjoyable dinner night out. We enjoyed our food, service was very attentive and made us feel like they were waiting specifically for us to arrive even with lots of customers around. Not a spot for a regular dinner out, but a place for a special occasion that you can guarantee a lovely night out."

  • "We had a reservation at 8:00 but were not seated until 8:40. Our server was often absent but the food made up for it."

  • "Had early dinner at the restaurant. The food was good and they had a good menu for Annapolis restaurant week."

  • "I've only ever ate at the bar or been there for brunch. I always grab to go food from Carpaccio to go. It was a double date night with friends that we haven't seen in almost a year. Everything from drinks to dessert was phenomenal MINUS our absentee waitress. 15 minutes to greet us, was only ever there if we had food on the table. The woman who was filling our water was more attentive than our actual server. Coming from the restaurant industry on all levels, make sure that your staff wants to be there because if they don't, I promise there are servers out there that need jobs. Thank you for a beautiful evening. If it weren't for our great company, delicious wine and fantastic food, I wouldn't come back because of the service."

  • "My husband and I have been to Carpaccio's three times. This past visit it was exceptional! I had the sea bass and it was amazing!!!! Service good and the atmosphere is always enjoyable and relaxing."

  • "I had the Branzino fish. It was wonderfully prepared and not over cooked as fish often is even in the best fish restaurants. I have just returned from Rome, Italy, and I enjoyed this meal more than any of the meals I had in Rome."

  • "My wife and I went to this restaurant as a Valentine's dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the restaurant was very well maintained. The staff was very courteous and the pricing was good for this type of dining. The only improvement I would suggest is a little more privacy between tables. The couple sitting next to us was pretentious, maybe even arrogant."

  • "First of all, food was terrific. Everything cooked correctly, no soggy pasta, acidic sauce etc. Being Sicilian, I understand my bias and rather high standard I set when enjoying Italian cuisine. Carpaccio represented themselves well and proved to have high standards as well. The service was attentive and helpful even though it was a very busy evening (Valentines Day). My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening, we were never rushed and were allowed to enjoy things at our own pace, not the restaurants. I also felt the prices were very competitive. I have paid much more at other places and not enjoyed it half as much. Highly recommended."

  • "The ONLY real criticism is that our table for two was so close to the tables on either side of us we had to ignore their conversations. Not too hard to do since we were engrosed in our own talk."

  • "The restaurant lives up to its name, Carpaccio. So far I've tried 2 of its carpaccio dishes and they're superb. My boyfriend and I had fhe lobster and scallop special. The scallop on the shell added to the dish was missing a scallop. I brought it to the wait staff's attention and I was brought a plate of 4 more. Overall, the whole dish was delicious, served hot and pasta was done right and not mushy. Overall, from the apetizer to the dessert, this place is awesome. Returning today with my two daughters as our Valentine's treat. Ambiance was okay. Only bec the seating area seems so packed and you have very little privacy."

  • "Had a great time celebrating our anniversary at Carpaccio. It was a Monday night so the place was very empty and quiet. Our waiter, Kevin, was helpful in describing various items on the menu and provided great service. Nice place for a great meal and great atmosphere."

  • "Food and service was outstanding loved the fact that the waitress had tasted almost everything on the menu and could give a heart discription of all the dishes"

  • "The food is excellent and the location is perfect...just across the street from Compass Rose Theater, the superb new professional theater in Annapolis. Service is prompt, so it is easy to have a leisurely dinner of excellent food (many choices on the menu), excellent wine, both at fair prices, and then stroll to the theater for a show."

  • "This was my first time attending this fine dining establishment. I was greeted by an impressive facade with accenting flames and decor. The staff were friendly and warm. They even were expecting me due to the online reservation thag was made. I had no issues and did not have to wait. The inside was amazing. Your money will be well invested."

  • "This restaurant was quite a surprise. We have always walked by and from the outside, you would never know the place is jam packed with people, energy and good food! We waited a few minutes to get a table but worth the wait. The wine list is extensive and menu is great for tomato lovers (lots of marinara and ragu's). There was no delay in food (just the right amount of time - not too soon or too delayed). Generous portions too! Would go back in a heartbeat. We sat in the bar area which seemed a little less congested than the main open restaurant - this is the way to go!"

  • "Really great food for the price. Lots of selection. This place was packed when we got there and we understood why. Definitely worth giving it a try if you find yourself in Annapolis."

  • "In my experience, organizations tend to reflect the attitude and personality of their leader. It would seem this restaurant is no exception. Upon walking in we were referred to a manager who was very business-like, direct and to the point; in other words, follow that person, sit down and eat. The rest of the meal progressed in the same manner, very functional, very organized but a reduced level of human interactions. When there was interaction with the wait staff, it was mostly an effort by them to up-sell menu items such as wine and desserts. Not indicative of better Italian restaurants. We do enjoy the food, the location and service. We have been there numerous times and will return. I guess we feel it could be a bit more "user-friendly"."

  • "Our reservation for NY Eve was at 9:15. We were seated at about 10:00, but I didn't expect to be seated on time. The restaurant was crowded and the bar was standing room only....waiting for seats in the dining room. When seats opened up at the bar, we sat down and ordered a couple of glasses of wine. I really like their wine list. When we were seated, the Manager/Owner...not sure who it was....told our waiter to give us a round of drinks on the house because of the wait. This came as a complete surprise! Once seated, the service was above average and the food came out tasting delicious and rather quickly considering how busy it was."

  • "Our favorite Italian restaurant in Annapolis and surrounding locales. Food and service is always outstanding. Indoor atmosphere is very pleasant, and during warm weather the outside dining is the best non-water-side in town."

  • "The food was good, prices-a bit expensive. But my BIGGEST issue was having to pay for parking. One either ahd to self-park at a charge of $5.00 or valet for $7.00. The self-parking should have been included and because it is not, I will not return."

  • "We love this place. Probably the best Italian restaurant in Annapolis."

  • "Came here on recommendation from a friend who is local. Very Big Italian food menu, great portion size. Could easily share pastas. Kids could order a slice of cheese pizza rather than a whole pizza. This was NYEve and when we left at 6:45 it was fully booked. Decorations were festive for the night. It is a short drive to the waterfront or 20 minute walk. Cab from here to the waterfront was $8 without tip. There are many restaurants in Annapolis, but this one is for when you are looking for a nice Italian meal that will satisfy many."
