Carolina Crossroads Restaurant at The Carolina InnFantasticThis is easily the best restaurant in Chapel Hill. Service was impeccable, food was perfect, and it was romantic enough for our 15th anniversary dinner. Just superb in every way.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisitely Good ExperienceWe had a recent brunch visit with Carolina Crossroads Restaurant and it was a good experience. It would have been nice since it's our first time to have been offered a place to sit rather than just be escorted to a table. I was not sure if other tables are booked, but it would have been a perfect experience if if were offered to have some choices on where we would like to be sitted.
The variety of food choices are very good. My favorite is - old-style American bread pudding!!!
Other than - it was very good and we will come back!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfectionWhat an amazing experience. First, the Carolina Inn is gorgeous, the epitome of Southern Charm. And Carolina Crossroads itself, equally amazing. The dining room is small and intimate, but liked that the tables were far enough apart to provide a sense of privacy. The service was perfect. Attentive, friendly but not overbearing. The food, absolutely fabulous. Between my husband and myself, we had the Yellow Pepper Bisque, Romaine Salad, Eggplant and Goat Cheese Agnolotti and a special Vegetable Plate prepared by the chef. All were perfection. We also shared the Red Velvet Cream Cheese Mousse Dome which was surprising light and a perfect way to end the meal. Can't say enough about Carolina Crossroads, we'll definitely be back!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfectionWhat an amazing experience. First, the Carolina Inn is gorgeous, the epitome of Southern Charm. On this recent visit I took a friend visiting from Washington state. She had never been to NC before and greatly enjoyed the southern ambiance of the Inn. She had never had friend green tomatoes or sweet potato fries before--tried them both and loved them.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful dining experienceI took my mother here for her birthday and we were treated to a delicious meal from start to finish. The staff/server was professional and knowledgeable . Both our meals were wonderful, including the scrumptious desserts. I would recommend Crossroads to anyone looking for impeccable food and service.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFine dining at CCCarolina Crossroads is an excellent choice for a special occasion. The prices aren't the easiest to stomach, but once you do, you'll love the food and ambience. Our server was excellent as well5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Menu and ResturantCrossroads is one of our favorite restaurants. We drive over 2 hours each time we dine there. Our menu selections were a variety of flavors and textures that surprised and satisfied with each bite. Each presentation was creatively displayed. The service of the waiters was classy and professional. The ambience of the restaurant supports and enhances the elegant Southern dining experience.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and worth the money!Friends and I went to brunch to celebrate our last Sunday before moving. Carolina Crossroads is definitely worth the price for the all you can eat brunch. They have amazing breakfast options like an omelet bar, fresh fruit, waffles as well as delicious lunch items. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a special brunch place!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMLike Stepping Back In TimeIt has a air of old Southern Elegance and dining there makes you feel like you've stepped back in time in terms of both the ambiance and the food. The menu is a little un-inspired, but the food is good and the service is excellent.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAn elegant lunch spotThis is a wonderful place for an elegant lunch or romantic dinner. Their gluten-free options particularly appealed to one member of our party, and the locally-sourced items on the menu are wonderful. I wish I could have lunch or dinner here every day!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful, friendly, veryBeautiful, friendly, very special.
Cannot wait to come back.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was perfect!Beautiful setting in an old, quaint Inn, in the heart of the UNC campus. Food and service were spot on; I especially loved the tenderloin, so tender you could cut it with a butter knife! Fantastic, unobtrusive service. Small but sufficient wine list. Take a walk around the Inn before or after your meal and enjoy the beauty and history of this special place!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMCarolina Crossroads RestaurantCarolina Crossroads Restaurant offers a lovely lunch setting for a special occasion. Especially appreciated is the beautiful, traditional decor and the professional wait staff. This is the place for a leisurely lunch where you can have a long chat and really visit. The waiters are professional, and they have very nice manners; however, it is notable that their service is not quite as good when one decides to eat the lunch buffet (as opposed to eating off the menu). The food tastes good, and looks good, but by today's dining standards, can be ranked in quality closer to traditional hotel banquet food rather than as gourmet dining. This restaurant's strength is its setting and atmosphere, which is why I gave it five stars for ambiance.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been here a few timesI have been here a few times for special occasions and we visited for my husband's birthday. The food ranks with the best of any restaurant I have visited ANYWHERE! It is expensive but not outrageous. We shared the lamb terrine and butternut bisque as starters and my husband had the beef tenderloin as an entree. I had an appetizer portion of shrimp and grits and the asparagus salad as an entree. We shared two desserts--the panna cotta and the bread pudding. Delicious and portions that were filling but didn't leave us stuffed. The service was attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was spectacular! The food was spectacular! The ambience was perfect for a special occasion or date. We went to celebrate a birthday, and the staff were very courteous and even gave us a free dessert with a candle for my husband. The food was delicious and the server's suggestions on what to try were spot on. I would highly recommend the fried oysters and the NewYork strip steak. Also loved the squash ravioli, which is the perfect size to split as an appetizer. The desserts were divine!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMJust had a perfect eveningJust had a perfect evening at Carolina Inn. Best mojitos in their bar. Tastefully decorated dining room using Carolina blue which also has a nice colonial feel to it, tables less crowded than anywhere else, quiet (we had our own corner, almost an alcove - ask for table 62), very sophisticated dishes and presentation, experienced wait staff (ours was from Morocco), no rushing (we were there 3 hours), amuse bouche gratis. Recommend fried oysters, scallop appetizers, quail and pork cheek entrees, but trout was too dry. Very good experience last year or two, better than it used to be.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful restaurant in Chapel HillWe had a wonderful Easter dinner at Crossroads at the Carolina Inn. The food was very good, the service superior, and the ambiance absolutely wonderful. Perfect special occasion spot.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food in an elegant settingThis was our second visit this year to Carolina Crossroads. We had 2 entrees, no appetizers or desserts. The filet steak was as good as it gets and the stuffed chicken was excellent. Portions were a bit small for big eaters, but we found it enough for us. If you have a large appetite , I advise a two or three course dinner. The service was professional and impeccable. We were given a complimentary taste of a starter to begin the meal and a complimentary chocolate truffle to end the meal.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the setting for a friendlyLoved the setting for a friendly birthday lunch. The service was outstanding and the food delicious.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional Food & Service to MatchThis was our 2nd visit to Carolina Crossroads - the first being for dinner, and this trip was for lunch. We chose to celebrate a birthday here for our son turning 13. The menu is delightfully eclectic, with wide-variety of choices. From shrimp & grits - superb! - to chicken pot pie, with a crust of homemade biscuits. The service is excellent. Friendly. Helpful. Special dessert plate acknowledging the birthday. Complimentary coffee drinks (a surprise). Love this spot and will return!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time diningThis was our first time dining at Carolina Crossroads. It is an excellent restaurant with perfectly prepared food and impeccable service. My wife ordered scallops and I ordered the strip steak. Both were prepared to our liking. The server was attentive to our needs and always around when we needed something. The restaurant is a bit "stuffy" but nothing like the Washington Duke Inn. For example we arrived ten minutes early and were ushered to the bar because our table wasn't ready. Hard to believe since three tables were in use out of many when we were summoned at exactly 7pm. It just seemed a little ridiculous.1/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAll 4 of us thought the foodAll 4 of us thought the food was very good and the wine quite good and the service very professional and not intrusive. We all had a very good time.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PMAll found the food excellent. Our Monday evening dinner for 4 included a gold-metal level foodie, two frequent restaurant patrons, and a vegan. All found the food excellent. Selections included chicken, fish, and duck. Wehad a couple of glasses of wine from a well-selected list. Service was efficient and professional and the dining room was extremely attractive. Overall, an excellent experience. Try it.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
