Overall, the experience was positive. However, due to the builder's convention - we found the ambiance to be very loud and "rough". The food was not as good as we had expected or hoped, our chicken cacciatora was kinda chewy. Our salad also had something "super spicy" in wife's words. We are such fans of Mario and his career - it was slightly disappointing.

Hands down my best dining experience during my recent stay in Vegas. The absolute best steak I have ever put in my mouth. And I have eaten a lot of steak in my lifetime. But every other dish we ate that night was also excellent. Service staff were very efficient and fun at the same time. Highly recommend to anyone wishing a unique dining experience in the land of unique dining experiences.

Terribly disappointing from a culinary standpoint. Both veal scaloppini dishes were dry and flavolless; lamb chops were way over salted; truffle pasta was anemic for $50. No love. Too bad.

Food was mixed. My wife has simple veal dish with carmelized onions and mushrooms and was very good. I had veal saltimbuca which was not ediable-- burnt to a crisp and much too heavy ratio of prosuit to veal. Great service and ambience.

Unless you are ordering from their pre-theatre price fixed menu, have lots of coinage with you. We ate very early, before seeing Jersey Boys, so not sure if that menu is available all the time. $75.00 for a veal chop, I thought, was a bit much. Food was REALLY good, though, so I'd probably go back.

  • Another stunning Mario Batali

Another stunning Mario Batali venture, with a varied menu and excellent food in a beautiful space. The pasta dishes are both complex and hearty, perfectly prepared. Entrees are sizeable and more varied than one might expect in a "meat" restaurant. Service is attentive and experienced without hovering and there's no sense of rush. Alas, the low note is the wine list. While it is quite large and reflects experience in the construction, the pricing strategy goes beyond outrageous to ridiculous. Less than five Italian reds were less than $100 and most were well beyond that number. That's a shame for a place that has so many outstanding qualities going for it.

The personal attention at Carnevino is beyond and above what you would expect at even the nicest restaurant you have previously been to. Pretty much everyone stoped by our table to see how we were enjoying our experience. Also, it was genuine interest, not just a passing "how is everything". They are very excited about their food and concept, and it shows in everthing they do. The food meanwhile, well it's just the best! My husband said the NY strip was the best steak he has ever had. I had the Osso Bucco and it was very tender and juicy. The potato sides were awesome, but I wish there had been more green vegetables to choose from, although there were an adequate number for people not as picky as me. Overall it was amazing!

This restaurant is by far the best meal experience ever. However, it is pricey; but so worth every dime. Suggest reservations because after 8pm it was getting busy. Five star on every level. Can't say enough about how awesome the food was. It is upscale but very comfortable. Would definitely go back when visiting Vegas again.

Overall food quality was excellent but service was a bit eratic. Generally the service was very attentive and warm, but the order came in the wrong sequence - was hard to find our waitress to correct - but was made right. One steak (out of 6) was very underdone - but perfect after re-cooking. Side dishes were tasty. Wine list is very expensive on the whole, but a knowledgeable person can find some very good wines at acceptable prices (for a restaurant). Not sure I'd go back as the value equation just wasn't quite there. But it is a newer restaurant and are probably working out the bugs. Might give it another try on my next trip to Vegas in about a year.

We had guests from out of the country and, after doing some research on the restaurant's website, we decided to dine at CarneVino. While the food was very tasty and the service was excellent, the menu we saw in the restaurant did not resemble what we saw on the website menu - the choices were a lot less and we struggled to find something we all really wanted. In addition to this, the food was VERY expensive and although we expected to pay more, the prices were ridiculously high. The restaurant is different which gives it an unusual appeal which is why we chose it. However, the menu choice and price per item did not go hand in hand - one almost felt "put into a corner" to make a choice.

Carnevino has quickly become our favorite restaurant in Las Vegas. This was our 5th time dining and it seems to get better every time. My fiance stuck with his favorite dish, osso bucco; i tried the veal saltimbocco. AMAZING is the only word that fits the dish. The flavors were balanced and were enhanced by our wine selection. We simply love this place!

The service was great, but the food was not the food of an Iron Chef. The veal saltimbocca would have scored a 0 in plating - it was the most hideous dish I've ever eaten. I'd like to try another Batali restaurant, but I certainly won't visit CarneVino again. The food for the price was just not Iron Chef quality!

Mario has outdone himself with CareVino! The food, wine and service are outstanding. The location, right off of the casino at the Palazzo, makes the ambiance only okay. It was a little noisy and bright for a romantic meal. With the high prices it is a special occasion spot but well worth it.

the steak was great - but the Rib-eye for two was atually suitable for 4 and phenomonally over-priced. The waiter completely over-sold us on the dish, when we clearly explained we only wanted a "little meat". And when you pay $135 for a steak, you would expect to get a vegetable or potato with it. Puleeeze! The orcchiete pasta was excellent - although the small portion size was laughable. We split an entree size portion which looked like half an appetizer order.

Meat and wine - those are the reasons to visit Carnevino. On our visit, the night before our wedding, we were treated to a complementary glass of sparkling wine, before choosing the ribeye for two, carved tableside and drizzled with olive oil and sea salt.
