I really think that the cuts of meat are just wonderul and it was great being able to try so many different steaks etc. I only wish that they would of offered different ways to have a steak cooked. All the steak that came to the table was a little rare and medium rare. I don't like to see so much pink on my meat, but I was told there is no other way it is offered. Also, it was great that the meat kept coming every few minutes, but the chicken took way to long to finally come out. We were done our meal by the time we tasted the chicken thighs and the bacon wrapped chicken. I also really liked the variety of side dishes that were offered. This is a wonderful place if you love steak, but only love it rare.

I found that for taking someone on a date it was a little expensive at $42 a person. However! The food, service, and environment were amazing. To me the food is the main attraction here as I imagine a braziliin BBQ would be. The meat was rare/medium rare for the most part which is exactly how I like it. I will definitely come back here again, but I won't be heading back anytime soon because of the price. I did see that lunch is about half the price, so that may be something to check out. Overall... If you are looking for the best cuts of meat done to perfection, I would say this is the place to go.

Sorry to say we were not very impressed. For the prices we found the meat not to be of the best grade. The tenderloin and chicken breast were wrapped in a very salty bacon, not appetizing at all. The bacon spoiled the chicken and tenderloin however without it one wouldn't be able to see the tiny piece of meats. The sirloin and lamb was very good however the other meats were very dry and hard to chew. The sides were rather tasteless however the greens were wonderful as well the fries. There should be some sort of dipping sauce for the meats. For our table of 8 none of us were "wowed" Service was wonderful however service alone is not enough when eating out and paying the high prices for dinners and 18% gratuities!!!

the food was great, the brazilian burger was awesome, the staff very friendly, but the service was not that great. Went for lunch, and for a table of four was only provided 1 menu, when asked for more menu's was then given one extra menu. There were maybe 20 people in the restuarant at the time. How do you not have menu's to cover all your chairs in a restaurant. Another group of four that we knew having lunch at the same time, got seated at the same time, got their complimentary bread 10 minutes before our table. They actually had to ask the servers why we didn't get our bread. Asked for some pepper, but recieved a little cup of ketchup, which was fine b/c we atually needed it, but then the server took it away before we can use it.

This is the third Brazilian restaurant we have dined in - Houston TX, Calgary AB and Winnipeg. Sadly Carnaval rated third place. The red meat was over cooked and dry. The pork and chicken and Chorizo sausage were wonderful and the pineapple was delicious. The spice blends and marinades are decicious. A buffet might work better for the sides - which is what we have ecperienced elsewhere - although on a quiet night this could be too wasteful. Winnipeg is, after all, a small city by comparison. Anyway all that said, we will be going back and will take friends. It is well worth the experience, if not quite the price.

If you like meat, your will love Carnaval. The selection of meats is much greater than at traditional menu-oriented restaurant. If you find that one particular selection does not suit your palette, there are several more to choose from. It is rather amusing, as well, to have the buffet come to your table, rather than the customer wandering over to the buffet. If you like a wide selection of vegetables, however, you may be disappointed in Carnaval.

My wife and I attended for our wedding anniversary and enjoyed our evening of gorging on various meats and such. For comparable pricing, however, we might have enjoyed one selection of meat of higher quality (many of the meats were not of particularly nice cuts in my opinion) and had a better experience. A night out at The Keg would be comparable price, with wine, and arguably more enjoyable. The sides were good but not outstanding or particularly notable. Wine selection was mediocre and over priced. It's a bit of a novelty. With tip it was about $160. For $200 we could have dined at 529 Wellington which is arguably a much higher-end experience. Nevertheless, it was fun and worth trying.

Great food. Had an awesome meal and service was excellent with exception of the bar. Drinks were few and far between taking way too long. Bar and restaurant share same bar staff and puts way too much work for the 2-3 bar staff. Tried to go for a drink after dinner but bar service was terrible due to the fact they're too busy making drinks for the waiters from the restaurant.

Good value for the dollar. But disappointed with the meat considering it is supposed to be your specialty! It was over salted & over cooked. The brisket was good but the turkey, lamb, ribeye, & sirloins were all over cooked. The flavour was good just over cooked & over salted. We tried the sweet potatoes, cauliflower, and greens. The greens were simple but flavourful and cut the heaviness of the meat. Both the sweet potato and cauliflower came out cold and these could have used more seasoning. The restaurant is loud so your servers need to speak up. We found ourselves asking them to repeat themselves a lot. Food was either coming out too fast & furious or too slow.

★★☆☆☆ We have been here twice We have been here twice now, and to be honest, we have mixed reviews about this place. While we absolutely loved the variety of meats and sides and how nicely cooked most of it was, when it came to the service, we found it to be incredibly lacking, especially downstairs in the lounge. In fact, we were quite ignored by the lounge staff, after barely being acknowledged or served by the 3 servers busy chatting at the bar. 3mins before we ourselves were set to leave and almost 20mins after our reservation time came and went a hostess finally sought us out to let us know that our table would be ready soon. Our first experience wasn't much better, having been completely ignored in the dining room in our group.

My husband and I (mainly my husband) chose this restaurant for our wedding anniversary. When I spoke to the hostess on the phone, I explained why were were coming and I asked for a nice spot in the restaurant. I was disappointed when we were seated as there are large windows on one side of the restaurant and we were seated on the other side where it was very busy. Looking out the large windows would have added to the ambiance of our special evening. The restaurant offers a neat dining experience and seeing my husbands eyes light up when the Gauchos came by was great. I enjoy lamb but I was disappointed that it was overcooked and dry. I loved all of the sides. We will attend again if invited but we most likely will not go on our own again.

This is an absolute try,,, u won't regret it. It's one of the best steak houses I've ever been in. The large choice of meats are great, the speed which they come at you is awesome, your never left to wait more the a few minutes, and if there's a pout of meat your waiting for, they alert the kitchen that your table wants it! And it comes !

It is pretty obvious that the objective of the staff is to get you out the door as soon as possible, so they attack you with meat so fast that you don't have time to enjoy the previous piece (and these are not large either). The cheaper meats (chicken, pork & sausage) are abundant, while the beef cuts are barely a sliver. This place used to be amazing when it opened, and same as all of the other restaurants owned by Noel, the quality has gone down, especially in the service. The hostesses are poorly trained, and they lack basic etiquette skills, same for the waiters. 18% gratuity is added automatically to groups over 8 so the servers know they don't need to make an effort when you have a larger group. It was a disappointment.

I was told wonderful things about this resturant although to be quite honest I wasn't overly impressed. The meat was extremely salty and the overall experience wasn't what I expected for the price I paid for plate. I thought it would be more entertaining and comparable to ichiban resturant. It was my fiancés birthday and we had a party of nine and they didn't even give him a birthday dessert or any recognition at all? I found that ridiculous. We will not be going to this resturant again.

I went to Carnaval Brazilian BBQ with my wife for our anniversary and it was amazing. The selection was delicious and we were never without meat. The meat servers did a great job of always coming by when we had our card turned to green and leaving us alone when it was turned to red. My only regret is that there were so many sides that I wanted to try but I was too full. Every tasted great and I would definitely recommend it, especially for special occasions.

We totally enjoyed the food although we found the noise level very unsettling and difficult to visit or even hear the people across the table from us. Our table was in the corner which had the window and it was beautiful I certainly wouldn't want to sit in the center of the restaurant or along the wall as the noise would be deafening.

For $44 per plate, I had high expectations for this restaurant which were not met. Positive: the way the meat comes around and the sides are brought to the table is great. Negative: 1. Service was not great. Waited a lot for him to come around, empty drinks, etc. 2. The meat is over salted and not seasoned in other ways so it all ended up tasting the same. The potatoes in the potato salad were overcooked and almost hard in some cases. Overall, the food was bland. If the cost was less, my ratings would be higher and my review better. But when I pay $180 for two adults and one child, I expect a better experience than if I paid $60 for the three of us.
