  • "We had the fortunate luck of having brunch on the last day of the Scranton Jazz festival. Not only was the food and service wonderful, as expected, but the four piece jazz group provided delightful entertainment. Perfect"

  • "Sunday Brunch is always a hit. Jazz combo made it better."

  • "Great dinner with husband and son the other evening in the historic Lackawanna Station. Our service was attentive and the food was wonderful. Our 14 year old son said it was even better than the food he had for the past 10 days on vacation in Hawaii."

  • "A good friend recommended Carmen's for Sunday brunch. I didn't know what to expect but there was the right amount of options: breakfast items, lunch items, seafood, olive and cheese platter items, and of course, desserts. For $27, this is more than your money's worth. Watch out for those drinks though, too tasty and they can add up! No gripes though. Top notch experience."

  • "The staff was impeccable; professional and friendly. The setting and atmosphere were absolutely stunning. The food was fantastic; surprisingly reasonably priced, not pretentious, great quality ingredients, done to order. Our server, Frank was the epitome of grace and attentiveness. He was engaging but not overbearing."

  • "we have been there many times, food selection is very good. fathers day seemed to be understaffed though. the greeters had no order when it came to all of the reservations piling throughthe door at the same time. obviously brunch was overbooked."

  • "I absolutely love the brunch at the Radison and my family goes there frequently. Great food and a beautiful atmosphere. Fathers Day brunch wasa little unruly. It was very crowded and disorganized - very unlike them. Lots of new ppl and they seemed confused. The host was so kind though and was clearly doing his best to seat everyone. Their brunch was excellent and they offer something for everyone. I'd still go back - maybe just not on a holiday. But never say never!"

  • "I took my family to Father's Day brunch as I have done for the past 18 years. Usually we have excellent service with excellent food. Not this year. It was a nightmare. Our waitress came to our table and it took 20 minutes for her to bring our coffee. Two of the staff were complaining about customers and were rude to us as we were walking out. There was so much more that was horrible about this place this year. It's one day that my family looks forward to and now we won't be going back"

  • "Would've had a better experience at Dennys. Last time we were here was 4 yrs ago.Wow have things gone down hill! Cold Belgium waffles, extremely under cooked prime rib at the carving station, sliced so thin it was almost transparent.Very limited food selection.Poor quality/preparation.My 18 year old son,who will eat just about anything & normally have 2-3 refills had 4 items on his plate & didn't finish what he had! I felt terrible. We had 3:30 reservations so we saved ourselves all day & we left hungry.Chocolate fountain area, choc splashed all over plates, skewers, tablecloth, waterlogged strawberries. Our waiter had a fresh, open cut on his hand. The staff sat at a table next to us & ate. When I'm paying 200$ I don't expect to eat with the staff!"

  • "Great Sunday brunch. Excellent dessert display with chocolate fountain, a must try!"

  • "It is nice to go to a place that doesn't give you huge portions. Instead they give the right amount of high quality food. We have been going there for over 20 years. It has always been a favorite special occasion spot for us. I was a bit sad though to see the partitions gone. It gave privacy to the diners. I was distracted by the hotel business going on in the background. Over all, we did enjoy our meal and will be back again."

  • "We hadn't been to brunch in a few years due to family commitments so we were happy to be able to go this year and we were not disappointed with the food. We did notice the pasta station was gone, but was replaced by a pierogi station so we didn't miss the pasta. The pierogies were excellent! All the food was very good. The desserts were a little lacking. I think they count on you using the chocolate fountain as they had lots of treats to dip in the fountain. We would have liked more cake choices and not so much mousse. We will be back next Easter for sure. "

  • "This was one of the best meals we have ever had. Great service and unique selection of dishes. The food had such a unique flavor and was cooked perfectly. We had no complaints and will definitely be returning customers. "

  • "Carmines is our go to restaurant when we need a great place to eat. The service, food and ambiance is always perfect and the location in downtown Scranton is very convenient. The historic depot and once main office of the Lackawanna Railroad makes for an interesting dining experience. Check is out. You too will not be dissapointed"

  • "I thought it would be a better place based on the reviews but the atmosphere was not what I expected as it was in the middle of the lobby. There was only one other couple there. The food was decent .. creme brulee was watery."

  • "Special Valentines menu was really good. Appitizer bar was outstanding. Service was very good and Piano music made things just that much better. Disappointed in resaurant's selection of wine glasses. When you pay $60+ for a bottle of wine you expect to get a wine glass fitting to the wine. They only have one glass type and that is fit for a sweet white or red. It is not correct for a dry red or even a dry white. Their wine glasses do not measure up to their wine list which is very good. Next time I'll just order a glass instead of a bottle or maybe no wine at all."

  • "CREATIVE FLAVORS, WONDERFUL SPECIALS. SERVICE WAS IMPECCIBLE. OUR PARTY OF FOUR ATE AND RELAXED FOR 3 HOURS. STAFF IS PROFESSIONAL AND WARM AT THE SAME TIME. CHEF CHRIS INTRODUCED HIMSELF AND ASKED WHAT WE THOUGHT OF THE DAILY SPECIALS, THANKED US FOR COMING IN."

  • "This was the first time we ever ate at Carmen's. Our daughter Taylor was in from college for the holiday and we wanted to take her to a brunch locally. The sevice was good, selection very good and overall experience was excellent. The pianp player added a certain charm to our dining experience. We will be back again."

  • "Waited over 45 mins for a table, despite our reservation. Didnt see a waiter/waitress for over 20 mins once seated and had to flag down the manager for drinks. Food was good, not exceptional by any means and service was beyond poor. Wouldn't recommend."
    Dined on 12/25/2013
  • "Long wait even with reservation. Food was fair.Crab claws and shrimp water logged.Limited salad choices.Hot items were just warm.Overpriced based on selections. Does not compare to the dinner, but that was some time ago, and do not know if it has changed. The service however, was excellent. Attentive staff, even with the buffet. May not choose Carmen's again next time in town."
    Dined on 12/25/2013
  • "I'll assume that because it was Christmas, I was charged $10 more than the advertised price. The selection was not in accord with the $37 price tag. The food seemed to be dried out. In years past this was our favorite brunch spot. We won't be going back."
    Dined on 12/22/2013
  • "The 1908 Train Station has survived in tact. The original marble walls with large inset tile scenes are still there and in excellent shape. The food is as grand as the setting. An Italian seafood stew was filled with Jumbo shrimp, large sea scallops, Clams and Brasiiian Sea Bass. The service is attentive without being intrusive. We will definitely return when we are in Scranton."

  • "The setting is really lovely in the former Scranton train station. Tables are not too close and you can dine at a relaxed pace. The service was attentive and friendly, and we could get coffee while we waited for our brunch reservation. The food offered was good and the omelets were well prepared. The selection was nice, heavier on lunch fare, but somewhat limited. All the fixings for bagels were beautiful, but we had to request a bagel. We'll surely return for brunch here."

  • "We arrived for dinner and were assaulted by an overwhelmingly noisy cocktail hour for a wedding. While we were seated quickly it took over 20 minutes for a server to come to our table. We waited even longer for bread and drinks. Our appetizers arrived a half hour after ordering them and we were not given plates to use for our shared dishes. Dinner took another half hour to receive. While dinner was ok, no one ever asked how it was or if we needed anything else. We had to flag down a waiter for the bill and no one ever apologized for the poor attention we received. A word of warning for other diners, this restaurant cannot accommodate a wedding and restaurant diners. This was my family's worst ever dining experience."
    Dined on 9/21/2013
  • "I would not recommend going to dinner here if they are hosting a wedding. They really should not even have open dining while half of the restaurant area is being used for cocktail hour. We were a party of 3 that spent over two hours there waiting for food."
    Dined on 9/21/2013
  • "What a disaster! There was a wedding in the banquet hall (hence -- do not go on a Friday or Saturday night). There was only one server (plus assistants) for the entire dining room -- and he would vanish for 15 or 20 minutes at a time. Drink orders were slow. Took a half hour just to place our order. Entrees came out 45 minutes after appetizers were cleared. Everyone in the dining room was tapping feet and looking for the server. Some got up and left. Others stuck it out. The food -- when it came -- was good (although my steak was slightly past medium, too long under a heat lamp, I suspect). Others in the dining room complained about the quality of their meals. In fairness, the server did comp us a round of drinks. Never again."

Homemade Pasta That Rivals Little Italy.Nice Surprise That The Executive Chef ,"Chef Chris", Did A walkthrough And Stopped At Our Table As Well As Others, We Complimented Him On The "Specials". Our Group Of Four Looks Forward To Our Next Visit!"

  • "I took my husband to Sunday Brunch @Carmens for his birthday. Overall, it was a good experience. They presented a nice variety of different breakfast/lunch options and the quality was good. The omelet station was great and the chocolate fountain was nice ending to our meal. He enjoyed the pork loin and french toast was good. One disappointment was the service. We arrived at 10:00am when the brunch opened, before the crowds arrived, and we had to wait for ten minutes and finally had to flag down someone to get our coffee/tea/juice order. For the price we paid, it would have been nice to have received more attentive and friendly service. But, like I said, overall it was worth the price for a special occasion..$27 per person + tax!."

  • "The dining room is located in the main lobby the historic Lackawanna Train Station. It used to be better before recent modifications, but is still beautiful. Service was very good. The food was very good, but not outstanding. It is $$$. We will return but it won't be a weekly event."

  • "We went to celebrate our anniversary and found the atmosphere elegant and the service outstanding. The food was very good. The only issue I may have is with the portion of the main course. My steak was filling, but my wife's plate could have had a few more scallops and shrimp. (4 & 2) were on the plate."

  • "My family and I were really blown away by the beautiful Sunday brunch Carmen's had for Father's Day. This place is BY FAR the BEST brunch in the area. The food is delicious and they offered everything you can imagine. They even had a soup station, smoked salmon station, imported mixed cheese and fruit station, etc. We enjoyed the steak station with toppings, the spicy mashed potatoes, etc. The chefs at the buffet were such professionals and so friendly. It was also nice that the larger groups were in a separate section of the restaurant. (Sometimes it's too hard to hear if you're a small table sandwiched in between huge parties). Overall, everything was wonderful and we will def be back! Thanks!"

  • "Made a reservation. weeks in advance to celebrate our daughter's graduation from U of Scranton. After two and a half hours, we left angry, hungry and disappointed after only being served our appetizers. There was a party (wedding?) going on in another room, and the kitchen was clearly unprepared. With the restaurant located one block from campus, they certainly should have had this date on their calendar. Sorry to say there were several other tables that also got up and left when we did without being served entrees."

  • "A nice venue for a special occasion dinner. However, there was a large wedding party having a cocktail hour in the area adjacent to the dining area which was extremely noisy. Service was very slow considering there were only four tables of patrons. Our waiter mixed up the orders as he was taking them down and had to have each diner repeat their order. He never reappeared to ask if we wanted another round of drinks (we did) or wanted more bread (we did). He seemed very harried. However, the meal was spectacular. Presentation was lovely and the food was delicious."
