  • "So glad I found this place. Took my boyfriend here for his birthday and it was just wonderful. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful and welcoming (probably half the staff came to say happy birthday). I had the carrot risotto which was just fantastic and he had the pork belly (which he says was also excellent though as a vegetarian I can't confirm). We also had chilled soup as an amuse bouche, cheese plate, and a lovely chocolate dessert. Our host even brought us little champagne flutes just for his birthday. Highly recommended for the food alone but the staff made the experience even better."

  • "Our dining experience at Carillon was excellent in every way. The food and drinks were superb, the entire staff (waiters, maitre'd, servers, sommilier) was attentive yet unobtrusive, and the atmosphere allowed for conversation without having to speak over an annoying din. We each decided on the four course meal. We started with the cheese plate, thai cured hamachi and an heirloom tomato salad--all were excellent. Next we shared four of their hot dishes: Mero (sea bass), New York strip steak, Madagascar Blue Prawn, and Crispy Pork Belly. All if these were delicious but the Pork Belly stood out head and shoulders above the rest. We ended with a splendid chocolate ganache."

He was kind, very knowledgeable, a true gentleman, and very observant. This meal was the best fine dining experience I have had in years. It truly was a memorable experience.   • "This dining experience was the best I have had in Austin. Who would have ever guessed? It is a well kept gem in the Austin Food industry. It is the first time I have really experienced fine dining and I have been to most of the top 10 restaurants in Austin. We spent 3 hours being catered to, and made to feel like part of a bigger family. Our waiter, the manager, the cooks and staff, all made this beautiful night the simply divine."

  • "While visiting Austin,TX, we were looking for a restaurant that was quiet. Carillon offered that an much more. I had my 13 yr. old daughter with me and she loves to try new things. We did the four course meal and I added the wine pairings to mine. The service was impeccable, atmosphere was quiet and subdued, which is what we wanted. If you want lively, you will need to try somewhere else. Hidden in the business conference building, not necessarily a place you would see when walking around UT campus."

  • "Order the Pork Belly. I've been to the Carillon probably 3-4 times in the past year and have always had a great experience. Staff is amazing, and all food it top notch. Order the Pork Belly. It's always surprising to me that when I mention the Carillon to friends in town how many are still yet to try it. I need better friends. The place looks and feels very formal, but the entire crew working there all have wonderful personalities and combine culture with elegance. Last time, I was with a group of three and we ordered everything on the menu (all the items), and did a wine pairing. It made me feel like Columbus discovering America, or at least similar to Native Americans finding Buffalo. I enjoyed the feeling. Order the Pork Belly."

  • "We visited the Carillon after seeing an exhibit at The Blanton Museum. There is a scarcity of good restaurants in the immediate area. I had heard good things but I was very impressed. The service was formal and professional. The menu was short but the selections were outstanding. Even the taste profiles of the cheese plate were amazing. One of the finest meals I've had."

  • "I took my 2 graduate research assistants here for a thank you and a farewell. All 3 of us will remember the evening as a perfect blend of refinement, comfort, exquisite food beautifully presented, and superior wine we had never imagined existed. We decided on the 4 course dinner, with a recommendation by the wait-person to not choose desert as one of the 4, but to order one dessert for all of us to share at the end of the meal if we were still able to eat anything. So 2 of us had 1 starter and 3 mains; the other had 4 mains. Brilliant!!! The sommelier understood that we wanted a wine we would remember, not one that would just blend well with the food. Perfection there, too. And we did share a desert, with advice from a dessert expert."

  • "French wine by the glass, ahi tuna, prawns from Spain, fig and cheese plate and a spicy pineapple dessert from the Caribbean merged into a a fine dining experience. The half-priced, smaller portions are quite sufficient if you choose the fixed price offerings at the Carillon Room. If you're very hungry order the full entree. As always, this restaurant's service is warm, welcoming and educated as one would expect at the University of Austin. You have to go off the well-worn downtown paths in order to find the Carillon. That's a good thing. Avoid the traffic and the parking space shortage. The Carillon is elegantly tucked away at the AT&T Conference Center."

  • "Last Saturday four of us went to the Carillon. Although we ordered different items, all were excellent. The two bread selections were luscious. I ordered the four-course dinner and chose one from each course (salads, main, cheese, dessert). All were beautiful and delicious. Our wine, from their wine "book," was fine, as were the additional individual wines. Specifically, they offer large and small portions so you do not have to share. Their cheese plate was creative, with perfectly matching tastes. The wait staff was exceptional, including the sommelier. The ambience was perfect for an adult evening experience, and we did not have to wait for a table. Our meal was not inexpensive, but it was memorable and an excellent value."

I had the tasting offering with wine pairing and it was excellent. Oscar was our waiter and his recommendations were wonderful. My husband had the New York Strip, which was fabulous. The service was consistent, non-intrusive, and relaxed. This was an amazing dining experience for us."

  • "We loved the whole experience. We went for my partner's birthday. The Host asked if the evening was a special occasion and upon learning about the birthday, poured a glass of complimentary champagne for us We selected the 4-course and relied on the waiter for suggestions. He asked questions about our preferences and allergies. We had 8 courses to choose, and with his help, they were all fantastic! Ahi crudo, Grilled quail, mero, carrot risoto, scallops, a cheese plate with 3 excellent cheeses and 2 desserts a pineapple something with basil sorbet, and a goat cheese croquette! YUMMY!! The entire evening was wonderful, food was great, staff was very attentive but not intrusive. We will definitely return."

  • "I typically think of restaurants inside hotels as being predictable and uninteresting. This one is just the opposite. Amazing food done and served in a creative and interesting fashion. We were going to an event and didn't have a lot of time. The restaurant is set up with multi course options sound accommodated our needs very well. I can't wait to go back when I have more time so I can enjoy the multi course options. Certainly one of the best restaurants in Austin."

  • "Every dish our table ordered was delicious! We all had the four course tasting and chose a variety of dishes so that we could try a lot of things on the menu and none of the dishes disappointed. The service was fantastic. They all worked as a team to cater to us and make sure we had a memorable dining experience. The chef even sent out a complementary amuse bouche which was a perfect start to the dinner. It was a delicious cucumber avocado soup that was a perfect setup for the food that was to come. Highly recommended"

  • "After readings reviews i went to the restaurant for the first time with friends. To begin with, we had a party with a small child. The waitstaff was wonderful with the child and incredibly accommodating. Now on the the food. We did the multi-course option which lets you select multiple options from across the menu. The food was all great. The Thai Cured Hamachi was spectacular. I wish I had ordered four courses of just that. I would highly recommend this as a place to take someone who is picky about service and food."

  • "Incredible service, superb food and top notch cocktails. We all got the prefix choose 4 dishes for $50 and shared. I don't think any of us had a bad bite of food all night. The staff (from the maître de to the waiter to the food runners) was just amazing. Very knowledgable and attentive without being annoying. Professionals.   • "I love this place! We opted for the four course meal and were not disappointed! It was the perfect amount of food even though the waiter said the courses are small. The pork belly was unbelievable and the New York strip was amazing! Dessert was on an entirely different level than the already excellent entree. I ordered the chocolate ganache which was covered with a layer of peppermint and chocolate rocks. I will definitely return to his hidden gem of a restaurant. "

  • "No doubt one of, if not the best dining experiences I have ever had. I would have to think long and hard to recall something that wasn't absolutely perfect. I did the four course meal, starting with grilled romaine which was fabulous. Followed that with the Steak Tartar, then moved on to the Meso which was an excellent Sea Bass dish and then tried the Lamb chops. For desert, I had a goat cheese croquet with Sorbet -- I'm not much of a desert person, but this was really mild and not too sweet which was very enjoyable to me. The waiters were great, so very considerate and knowledgeable and the atmosphere was delightful, very nice for a special evening with whomever you are there with. I can not recommend The Carillon enough. Please go! "

  • "This was our first time at Carillon and it was outstanding. The service we received from Oscar and the maitre d was excellent. The maitre d came and talked to us after the meal and when he found out that my husband's birthday was in a few weeks he poured us each a glass of champagne. The interior is so tastefully done, with a real sense of history. The food was really top notch from the Thai Hamachi to the lamb, then an excellent cheese course and chocolate ganache dessert. It was a very lovely, grown-up meal."

  • "A huge thumbs up to the lovely Carillon Restaurant in the AT&T Center, the nicest place to eat anywhere near the UT campus! This is not your typical hotel restaurant, but a beautiful and serene oasis on the UT campus w/ a sophisticated menu. Each of our courses was creative and delicious and truly one of the best meals I've had in Austin...and I've been eating here all my life! The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly. It is a calm place that is great for groups or those wishing to have an elegant meal and actually hear each other talking. It would a wonderful spot to celebrate a special occasion! "
