  • "Valentine's Day was tough for the restaurant as they fell behind significantly from reservation times. They were claiming that folks were staying longer than usual due to weather and the occasion. But while the staff was certainly cordial, it is a pretty significant inconvenience when one has a reservation for a special occasion to make folks wait this long, some more than half an hour. This wouldn't sit well at all for a romantic Valentine's date or important anniversary, etc, In my opinion, it would have been a very smart and good will gesture to offer a complimentary glass of wine or dessert or some such for those who had to wait. Other than that, great other than draft from outside entrance."

  • "We choose this place to see how it would compare to other places we have been for seafood and good steaks. My wife had the Salmon, and I had the rib eye. Both were very good. However, the ambiance of the restaurant seemed old and not very updated. We were assigned a table not too far from the door, and since it was a cold evening, when people came in we got the cold wind on us. Not sure we would return, it was acceptable, but that was about all. Nothing of real note that would compel us to return. Our waiter however was very friendly and served us very well."

My only problem is that sometimes it is too crowded and so loud you can't hear your table mates. It is also getting shabby and dated looking. Have they ever redecorated? I think a facelift and a little work on the acoustics would go a long way."

  • "The Smoked Shrimp with Three Mustard Balsamic Glaze was fantastic and through it appeared on the menu as an appetizer, they immediately agreed to convert it to an entree when asked and suggested sides that were both delicious and complementary to the entree. I would also highly recommend the pear salad. The pears, while softened, still retained just enough structure to give them a nice consistency that I often find missing in similar attempts. The pickled onions also worked very well in this salad."

We sampled the pumpkin pasta, a strong seasonal highlight. The wine list is fantastic - loaded with mid-priced gems that won't break the bank. Never a bad meal, with solid service and ambiance."
