Carbonara TrattoriaLove it!We go there often. The food is exceptional with a good array of choices, including things not seen in most eateries. Portion sizes are ample, not the overflow one often gets in traditional Italian restaurants. Sesserts are exceptional.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAs yet undiscoveredCarbonara is still a neighborhood joint -albeit a busy neighborhood joint on a Friday night- that has not yet been discovered and over-run by metroAtlanta. Unpretentious and food focused. I've been twice and the food is great. Really nice variety of simple, delicious Italian dishes done fantastically. We had the mussels and also pear and prosciutto salad for apps - yum! My boyfriend had a special request for the mussel sauce ("Boston style") which was done to perfection according to him. Then we had the spaghetti carbonara (GOTTA - it's the restaurant namesake!) and the risotto special - yum again! The bar looked like a good place to catch up with friends or get to know someone, like on 1st or 2nd date, with its hightop tables and couches.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFood& service was great! NiceFood& service was great! Nice wine list and relaxed atmosphere.
Nice mix of menu items and specials.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe owner greeted us as ifThe owner greeted us as if he has known us for years and guided us through the various menu options (even some that were not on the menu!). The salmon was excellent, wine delicious and service was great! We will definitely return!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMYummy and charming! We had heard great things about this restaurant and were not disappointed. The owner is beyond charming and is very conscientious about what's happening in the restaurant. He made great suggestions and was very accommodating modifying recipes to suit our dietary needs and taste. Two of us wanted the Seafood Linguini Fra Diavolo but did not want the marinara sauce so it was cooked in white wine..it was delicious. The other dishes ordered were the Osso Buco and Lamb...both were very tasty...the veal was so tender and just fell off the bone. Sunday nite was half price on select bottles of wine...quite the deal at $13 a bottle. All in all we were very pleased and would go back in a heartbeat! Oh, did I mention the bread was scrumptious??!!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMVery attentive owner and waitstaff.Very attentive owner and waitstaff. Excellent carbonara. Will definitely go back to try other options as well.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific food! Wish moreTerrific food! Wish more people had been there on a Thursday evening.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe'll be regulars...We came to Carbonara for dinner on our 25th anniversary. What a good choice! The owner welcomes patrons, and leads the staff in service which is friendly and attentive but not intrusive. The menu offers traditional and interesting Italian options. I had that evening's special, a spinach ravioli with ricotta and walnuts, which was quite delicious. My husband enjoyed his pasta carbonara. There's a nice wine list. Since it was a special occasion, we treated ourselves to dessert - the tiramisu was excellent. Midweek, while business was steady with about half the tables occupied, it was pleasantly quiet. The location is convenient, tucked into a neighborhood shopping center. We will be back!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is very consistent andFood is very consistent and service this time much better.
