  • "We have been going to Carbonara Trattoria since soon after it opened, and have always enjoyed it. The food is excellent and priced reasonably and the staff is attentive and friendly. The fact that the owner oversees the floor just adds to the quality of the experience. We will be back again and again."

  • "The food was outstanding!!The only problem we had was the service. It was not packed but they were busy. We were seated & nobody showed up to take any order at our table. The owner came over after 15 minutes He was extremely nice & took our drink order. The waiter came over soon after & took our food order. 30 minutes later,we had still not gotten our salad. When we asked the owner if he could check on it, he brought the salad out & apparently our order had never been put in. We finally got our food about 15 minutes later & it was delicious. It took a while to track down the waiter & get our bill & they forgot to bring our leftovers back out to us. Will definitely go back as the food is worth it & hope the service issues get fixed."

  • "Four women went to celebrate a birthday. We were escorted to a quiet table along the wall. The owner greeted us. We ordered wine and cocktails. The best Chocolate Martini ever.. praised by the Birthday girl! It was hard to choose entrees from the vast menu. Two different salmon preparations were ordered. Both with rave reviews. Two different chicken didhes, too. Piccatta and Francese. Also, both with rave reviews. We enjoyed the warm bread, which was replenished during our meal. An Excellent piece of coconut cake was brought to our guest of honor with a candle lit, to help in our celebration. Quite a good meal and we were able to sit and talk forever! "

  • "We have visited Carbonara a couple times now because it's close to our home and we always like supporting local (non-chain) businesses. The atmosphere is nice, the wine list is good, and the service is excellent (friendly, attentive and knowledgable). If the food was better we would be there often...the flavors are bland- my husband and I recently had Fra Diavalo sauce which should be spicy and it didn't have any "kick" to it, my father had steak and he said it was likely grilled on a fry pan (average tasting at best), and my mother had a shrimp and pasta dish (it was a heavy sauce with mushy/ heavy pasta (again, average at best, with a bland flavor). Again, if they could get the food right, we would be there more often."

  • "The place is rather dark and cozy inside. The food was very good but we would change the antipasto. It had goat cheese and pickled stuff on the plate. It could of had more meat and some lettuce or tomatoes, anchovies on it."

  • "Really very good , would certainly return. We had chicken, veal, pasta all prepared different ways. They all exceeded our expectations. Our server was very attentive."

  • "Our server, Jennifer was excellent. She was very friendly. She did not hesitate to let us know about the menu items especially the ones to die for. And the martinis were good!! She surprised us with one...The French which is now my favorite. Now the food...Awesome. The aroma, plate presentation, and taste was great. Jennifer was very accommodating. My father-in-law can be a handful. She handled him beautifully. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and it was a great evening! And the owner took time out to talk to us which was very nice!"

  • "Dunwoody has suffered from a good choice of restaurants. Carbonara Trattoria is a restaurant that has very good food and treats the guest well. The owner is very visible and helps out to wait and service tables. The pastas are excellent."

  • "Carbonara Trattoria's food and service was very good. It was Mother's Day Saturday. Very crowded with extra tables and therefore very noisy. We will go back there."

  • "A real surprise! A bit hard to find, but worth the hunt. Service was impeccable; ambiance was lovely; food was outstanding. We had flounder franchese, grilled bronzino, and grilled lamb rack at our table and all were delish! The roasted beet and fried goat cheese salad was so, so good! Wine was yummy, too. And dessert was the pièce de résistance - limoncello pound cake with whipped cream and strawberries! Will recommend this place to friends, and plan to go back...soon! "

  • "not just mounds of pasta and cheese, but really fine food; service attentive but not hovering; comfortable"
    Dined on 4/15/2014
  • "The food is usually good, but the service is just okay. The place is often very crowded as they have little competition in Dunwoody, so plan ahead. It's nice inside with a neat italian decor. Wish they had more outdoor seating space."

  • "Carbonara is an outstanding restaurant in an area primarily populated with chain outlets and lower end sandwich/burger shops. The Chef's special menu is always worth a look -- frequently featuring well-prepared seafood. The salads are excellent and pair unusual ingredients. As the name of the restaurant suggests, there are always a number of Italian dishes on the menu. This is a place people go to once and then keep coming back -- it is great!"

  • "This is a neighborhood gem where everyone knows everyone. There are not many non-chain restaurants in Dunwoody so this is a breath of fresh air. Refik, the owner, makes sure everything goes smoothly and he is always there."

  • "My parents & I went for the duck confit, which if you ever get the chance to try... Oh boy! It's divine. We had actually gone for a birthday dinner earlier in the week with the extended family (which even the picky 10 year old eater enjoyed) & went back again two days later because we heard Rafik was bringing back the duck confit entre special that we loved from the New Year's Eve menu. We were all painfully stuffed, but couldn't stop eating it until the plates were cleaned. Perfection! We love this place & love the food. The wait staff were also really helpful & the ambiance is comfortable and cozy. Very similar to many trattorias I've been to in Tuscany. Mangia! Thank you Rafik & company for such a great dining and culinary experience."

  • "Every time I dine at Carbonara Trattoria the food is excellent. Their beet and goat cheese salad is delicious. For my entree I had seafood pasta diavolo. It had just the right amount of spice. The portion was so large I had to take half home. The amount of seafood was plentiful. My friend ordered veal piccata. It was also a large portion and was delicious. The service was also excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Our party of four arrived at 7:00 on a Sunday night. The place was 2/3 empty. We ordered normal entrees from the menu, selecting only what was offered. The waiter then disappeared. 30 minutes later he eventually wandered by. After another 10 minutes or so he said our dinners had been given to another table. He tried take the dinners from them to give them to us. We told the waiter that even if those dinners had been ours (they were not), we certainly did not want them after they had been given to other people. Finally after at least 50 minutes, our dinners arrived. The waiter then said the problem was that we had selected the vegetable sides that he had offered instead of the potatoes, an absurd excuse. The manager ignored it all."

  • "We love this suburban convenient delicious Italian restaurant next to Dunwoody Prep. The bar area is beautiful and it's fun for families and friends. The owner is present and very welcoming and staff is friendly. Our dinner on second visit was outstanding. Great antipasta and wedge salad. Notable entrees esp osso bucco, chicken with aritichokes and wonderful pasta Carbanara. We are thrilled to have discovered this Gem."

  • "The menu looked so amazing that I want to go back enough times to try everything on it. This was our first time at this restaurant. My husband and I took two elderly relatives and everyone loved their food. We used to go to Peter's which was nearby, and they have closed, so we are thrilled to have this new place to go. These folks make their own pasta and you can certainly tell the difference. Their sauces are simple yet memorable. I hightly recommend this restaurant."
