Carbon Beach Club Restaurant (The Dining Room) @ Malibu Beach InnGood food, rest dependsThe food is very good. Steaks are well prepared. Fish well selected and prepared. very much worthy of fine dining. Eating outside at sunset is very nice as you can have a sweeping panorama of the Pacific and the coast. However, it can get cold and the heat lamps and firepits are a spotty affair. Dress appropriately. Also when it gets busy you really feel it because the restaurant packs the tables way too close. As for the crowd, its a matter of taste. It skews older (no problem there) but you do get your share of attention-starved Hollywood types trying to talk to the whole place instead of just their dining companions. If you get it on the right night though, not too busy, Carbon Beach Club can be a spectacular and romantic experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and the scenicGreat food and the scenic is beautiful...great place5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBeach DelightReally great place for a romantic Sunday brunch. Service was amazing, the drinks were great, good food and scenery was the best. Very relaxing and peaceful.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe very much enjoyed the scenicWe very much enjoyed the scenic view with dinner. Traffic on the Pacific Coast Highway coming up from the Venice Beach area on a Saturday night was a challenge (an hour for the 13 mile drive).Parking options include valets, but the beach parking lot adjacent to the restaurant had ample vacancies for $10. The bonus was the sighting of several dolphins and a whale not far from shore. The food was delicious w/conservative portions and the tab for two (appetizers,1 drink each, entrees, and desserts) was $155. The chill of the ocean breeze on the deck in mid-April deterred us from lingering, despite the heaters provided. Some local patrons at a nearby table proclaimed this the best restaurant of its kind in the area.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThis dining experience wasThis dining experience was wonderful; even though it rained on the patio during our Easter brunch. We found a nice cozy place by the fireplace & finished our dessert. For the prix fixe menu I had the anything but traditional deviled eggs, eggs benedict and the spicy chocolate cake. Everything was delicious but the beauty of the ocean & the service are the standouts.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent location. LovelyExcellent location. Lovely view. Good food.
